Very nice people, very much attentive to their customers, whether the customers are dine-in or carry-out. They lose stars for their food these days. I was here a few months ago but neglected to write a review. At that time, a Friday in June or July 2022, the food was impeccable and delicious and fall-off-the-bone great, & I would have given 5 stars. We had the brisket, the burnt ends and the rib tips. Delicious! September 2022, it's a different story--went with friends and ordered a bunch of different things so we could have a taste of a variety of items. The collard greens are good, beans have a slight kick, and mac & cheese was hearty & their bbq sauces are tasty. HOWEVER, the rib tips were fairly fatty and hard to chew, and the burnt ends had too much gristle. The hot links were the best-- so no problem there! Love the hot links! If I go back to give them one more chance, with or without friends, I know what items to avoid. read more

EXCELLENT, DELICIOUS! Our family enjoyed a most excellent and delightful Thanksgiving Dinner. The 15 pound turkey was the star. Cooked to perfection in the smoker the meat was juicy and moist. iQue has good food and good people. The folks who work there not only make great BBQ but also make you feel at home. I have had the beef brisket with baked beans and collard greens many times. It is by far my favourite. But I have also had the "durty mac" and the grilled cheese with burnt ends and everything was good. I've heard great things about the pulled pork and the ribs but haven't tried yet because I love brisket so much. They also have some truly delicious desserts. First came in Tyrone was so sweet and welcoming. Have so many different options couldn't decide what to get. I ordered chopped chicken meal, my mom ordered hot link meal, and my sister preserved beef ribs meal. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. Black owned ! Full of flavor! And definitely a vibe. I've never had a bbq place give me so much meat for that price. My sides were mac n cheese and the greens, it also came with a dinner roll. The sides have so much flavor!! Stopped in on a whim and was NOT disappointed. We had the Rib Meal with baked beans and coleslaw and the pulled pork sandwich. While we waited (which wasn't long at all) we were given corn chips with a tasty cowboy caviar. Our food showed up in about 10 mins. The pulled pork sandwich is substantial on a bun that didn't fall apart (always a plus) and a perfect build of pulled pork bbq, pickled onion and coleslaw. The ribs were juicy, meaty...a great balance of sweetness and tang. The sides did not disappoint. I-Que isn't fancy, but who wants fancy when eating BBQ??? It's comfort food in a comfortable atmosphere. Compared to another FAMOUS BBQ place we just tried out, recently (where the food was mediocre, dry, bland, etc), I-Que left smiles on our faces, our tummies satisfied, and our pockets not nearly as dented (this place is VALUE). Besides the food...the service was amazing, friendly...the staff is attentive and really treat you like you're visiting their home. We'll definitely be going back for more! I debated for a very long time over whether or not I should leave this review. But I'm really mad because we paid a lot of money and the food was just absolutely horrible. The greens were barely cooked. Literally they were crunchy. The mac and cheese was so thick and had so much cheese and salt that we couldn't even eat it. It was too much cheese and salt. The ribs were so tough that I couldn't eat them. Like I literally could not bite into them. And the hot links were so greasy that I had to hold one in a paper towel because there was so much grease dripping down. I don't understand how people are giving this such high reviews. I can only assume it's because people here are not used to real barbecue? I'm from Texas and my family is from the south so maybe we're just more used to good barbecue. Anyway we will not be going back here. We spend $62 on three different plates and everything for all three of us went into the trash. Including my husband's plate who he will give anyone's barbecue a chance. He got the rib tips and he's still complaining about the sauce and how tough they are. read more

Outstanding food. Ribs were Smokey and finger licking . We had them cater my husbands birthday party and they truly came through . Mac and cheese and creamy and has a lil spice to it. Visited this spot for the first time today and wow!! If you live in SV or La Mesa you have to visit this spot! There's another barbecue place in SV and this spot is way better! You can tell the chef really puts his heart and soul into his food. We had the mix meat plate with pulled pork and ribs with mac & cheese and collard greens. Everything was full of flavor! The ribs were seasoned well throughout that you didn't need sauce and the pork was juicy and sauced well. We came early when they first opened so everything was fresh. I brought home the banana pudding and it was homemade with the vanilla wafer's on top! My props to the family who owns this place as we observed a young one putting sauce in containers and handing out orders. We will be back and bring family and friends to try this spot read more

I saw a clean environment with plenty of sturdy tables and chairs.Order from the counter area and then sat down in their dinning area. My order arrived quickly and then I enjoyed a feast of a chicken wing combo and ala cart 4 X Pork Rib order. The menu items ordered didn't break my bank and the portion size met my hunger needs. I give high praise for "I QUE'S" food quality, packaging and customer service staff. Food arrived to my table very "Hot" and seasoned very well.
