I've been here a few times for gel fill-in services. The salon has nice ambiance and looks clean and professional. The prices, however, were extremely high compared to many other salons in the area. A fill in with gel as well as gel polish (a common combination) was 55 dollars, compared to the usual 35 I've paid elsewhere. While the attention to detail was impressive, and the quality of my nails was quite good, I could not justify spending nearly twice the amount for a service I need every two weeks. Additionally, it appeared that only one technician was available to do a fill in service, vs a simple gel polish manicure. I have been going to this salon for 5 years, and have regular, uv gel and powder gel all multiple times. Even after going away to school, I would look forward to coming home to get my nails done here. I WAS a loyal customer, but not any longer. This last time was the final straw. The new management is bad, and the lady always seems like she's yelling at her employees. My mother had gone without me the past few times, and warned me not to go. She said she had to wait for a long time even after making an appointment. She even said they were saying rude comments when she asked for them to change her pedicure color after it didn't match the gel color she picked. Ladies, your mother is right 99% of the time. I was getting my nails done for a 2 week vacation. Polish change, powder gel off, powered gel on. During he polish change, she was digging into the cuticles on my toes with her sharp fingernails and the cotton even though I could see there was no leftover polish left... uncomfy. While the employee was taking the gel off my pinky she FILES THROUGH THE TOP OF MY NAIL. Although I was saying OW she continued to file to the point where I physically removed my finger from her grasp. It was then she realized my nail was bleeding. She apologized, but I was dumbstruck on what to do next. I Never walk around without something on my nails, and going on vacation without my nails done is a nightmare. So, I forced myself to endure the rest of my service telling the employee to not polish that finger. However, she still kept touching my wounded finger.. my luck. Along with the employee filing my skin whenever she got a chance, I was able to get out of the salon alive with 9 fingers polished. Clean, efficient nail salon that does high quality work. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes, even without an appointment. A "regular manicure" is only $10, so makes for a great place to take kids as well. Also, highly recommend the massage for a tip. Felt great while my nails were drying! read more

I had a gift card and went for a pedicure a week ago today. The pedicure was ok, but there is a weird vibe in the place that I didn't care for. It seems more like a factory, cranking folks out as quickly as possible. The male manager at the front wasn't exactly friendly. "Lina" did a good job with my pedicure, but they all almost seem annoyed that customers come in for services...I don't think I'd return, but I have to use up the gift card. (Which I don't understand how they get to double tax. You pay tax when you buy the gift card and then they tax you on the service.) read more

Excellent service! Had tried it 4 years ago and did not like it but now they are 100% profesional and with high standards of hygiene and service. I was shown the price list and choose my service from there. The pedicure tub was freshly lined with plastic wrap, the utensils came from closed packets. The pedicure was leisurely ( perhaps because it was a Monday) but other customers came in and the place remained quiet and relaxed. The paraffin dip was 4 times ( other places do one if they do paraffin at all!). Very happy - will return!!! read more

Incredible manicure and pedicure! Very professional, offer you tea or water, and provide shoulder massages. There are 2 men whose only job it is is to provide massages while your nails are drying or manicure is happening. A little pricey, but worth it for the true "spa" experience! read more

Took my mom here for her first manicure and they are amazing! I had to get mine fixed because the place I went to the day before did an awful job. Eva is the best and if you go ask for her! It's too bad that the new management is not as good as before (SEAN WHY DID YOU SELL THIS BUSINESS!?!?) The staff that has been on for a while is still good...but not as good as they used to be. The new management seems always stressed and short with clients. When you call for an appointment there are ZERO pleasantries. They don't even ask for your name for the appointment. They basically act like they are doing you a favor. There is one well dressed lady with lash extensions that is the worst. There are two others a woman and a man. They don't seem to speak English very well. So forget about asking them anything beyond, "May I have some change for this $20?". The person answering the phone and greeting people should be super pleasant and speak English well enough to sling out the obligatory pleasantries. Like, may I have your name for the appointment or remember my name and ask how my mother is...like Sean did. As I have been leaving I said, "Thank you! Goodbye!", and nobody even acknowledged me on more than one occasion. While I was getting my manicure the four staff people around me (two manicurists and the two people doing massages) were all talking. That never happened before when Sean was there. I don't mind a little communication, but constant talking in a language I do not understand is ridiculous. The quality of the whole experience has changed. Manicures are not as well done. Pedicures are short unless you get the $10 add-ons making it unreasonable in price. I brought my boyfriend in for a pedicure as a springtime treat. They barely spent half of the time on him that they did on me....for the same price. He did not have his toe nails painted...so maybe spend a few more minutes on the massage. Nope. They hardly massaged his feet or legs. He had to sit there and wait for me. This is the kind of thing that would never have happened before. I was getting eyelash extensions for around 6 months. I never had them done before. So, I had no idea what the protocol was. I was never offered any options or information on how to care for them. I was charged $75 for the first time. It was supposed to be $70. Then a fill is $55, only if you return within 2 weeks. Otherwise it is $70 again. After my second time I asked around about this service. Several of my girlfriends have it done. ...not at iSpa though. That's because iSpa uses the cheap lashes. They itch and don't last. It would be nice if they gave you some info and options. I had it done last minute after a manicure and pedicure...at 6pm. The guy rushed. The lashes looked better than my own and for my first time, I thought it was great. Little did I know that he did not put as many lashes on as he should have. Probably due to the time. They close at 7pm. The lashes were also the short version. I realized I wasn't supposed to get them wet for 24 hours and the options I had by researching it online. They could give you a handout with simple steps for care etc. I now go to 3D Nail Salon in Waterbury. It's far, but worth it. I now get mink lashes. I was offered several options. They last 3 weeks or more. I was clued in on some care tips. They even give you a new spooly brush with each visit. Way cheaper too! It's the little details that matter when it comes to good service. Spend the extra time, remember a client's name, don't rush people. Definitely do NOT go any time past 6pm. They will rush everything. It's really too bad. I absolutely loved this place and have been a patron for many years. I am in search of a new spot closer. The massages are the only reason I have not moved on sooner. Oh! Forget about the Rewards card too. The points on my card were reduced from the last time I was in and I did not redeem any points. They discourage you from using your points towards manicures and don't offer a fair deal for a manicure and pedicure using your points. They tell you to keep going and redeem it for a facial. Yeah. No thanks. I hope someone in management reads this and the other terrible recent reviews... and they change things soon or they will be losing people by the minute. read more

First time here today and I will definitely be visiting again. The manicurist was great and was patient and gentle while removing my gel polish. She also did a wonderful job with the new manicure. Huge plus was the free massage while in the chair. Very relaxing. I made sure to tip him well since that alone was worth the price of admission. Good prices too. read more

This place must have changed hands since the last time I was here. The vibe was uncomfortable, the male employees look like they are overseeing all the females, the quality of the pedicure was mediocre at best. Only nail salon I will go to. They do the best pedicure around. Most of the time you get free 10 minute neck and shoulder massage and they are very good at it. What's better than that?! Every pedicure and manicure gets new tools from a sealed bag. read more

First I was waiting for 15 minutes, then the rude guy at front sent over the massage guy to do my pedicure, because he did not have a nail person available. Not right. I think I spa and nails does a great job their staff are friendly and the service is nice. The decor is cute and better than most nail salons. I was impressed with the service overall until it was time to pay. When my mom and I sat down we were given a sheet to pick from for our pedicures. The girl told us there was a special for a $40 Mani pedi w/a free 10 minute massage. So naturally we chose this option. So the girl said great now pick which scent you would like for your pedicure, we did. And the pedicure was nice EXCEPT for the fact that they used the same spatula (that had clearly been used before) to remove the product from the jars and apply on to our legs. Which I believe is against health code. But I chose to ignore that. When our pedicures were done we sat down to have our nails painted. The girl asked me if I would like to do shellac polish and I asked her how much and she said 10 dollars extra so I said sure why not. When my mom went to pay they charged her 143 dollars. 40+50=90. When my mom asked why that was so much the girl told us we chose the 55 dollar option and that because I did gel I got 10 off the gel manicure. This doesn't make sense to me and I am posting this review as a heads up to pay attention to what they are charging you read more

What a magical place!! From the minute I walked in, someone greeted me with a smile. I arrived right on time for my appointment and was seated immediately. I picked my color and within not even 20 seconds I was asked if I would like a free massage. I said yes and I swear, it felt like a massage I would have paid for at Massage Envy. It had to be for at least 20 minutes and it was AMAZING!!! My manicure was done by Tina and she was fantastic and very sweet. This is definitely my new spot. I have been going to ispa for years now but I just can't spend my money there anymore. The old owner named Sean was so kind and really appreciated the business. He taught his nail technicians to be respectful of the clients and they always did a great painting job on our nails. But now they are under new management and they have been for over a year now. I keep going back but it's just not worth it anymore. The lady and her husband who now own it are SO RUDE! They don't appreciate business and rush you when you try to pick your nail color. Also when you call to make an appointment for a regular manicure they assume you want a gel manicure because it's more expensive. But I do have to say that the nail technicians paint very well. But they are very DISRESPECTFUL!! When you ask them a question or talk to them they respond back to you in English but when your conversation is over they start talking in Chinese with all the other technicians. And in many cases they started laughing like we were a joke!!! Even though they do give a good manicure it doesn't matter because of the way that they act. Talented masseuse, relaxing music, very clean salon. Nice hot wax and hand/arm massage with manicure. They pay attention to each patron and really seem to like what they do and care about giving each of their customers a great experience. Not like the usual manicure mills on every corner. Went today based on reviews WOW! The salon was busy on a Tuesday evening. I was greeted quickly and was sat at a station. I noticed the soothing music and took a deep breath. The station itself had a large fan built into the top. On each side were UV compartments. I asked the gentleman for gel fill which he proceeded to grind off my gel color as the fan sucked away the dust down into the station. A basket of colored nails appeared on the station. The gentleman told me to pick a color - how convenient I thought. Next, another gentleman came up behind me and asked if I wanted a massage!!! For free!! Just had to tip him. Holy crap serious? It would have been a better massage if I took off my leather jacket but it was all I could do not to moan out loud. LOL Next the manicurist massaged my hands - I've died and gone to heaven. He told me to wash my hands-didn't know he was going to wash them for me and dip them in paraffin wax. I never asked the price but was pleased it was $50. Which I thought was fair since he took off almost all the old gel. I will be back!!! After coming here for over 2 years, I have noticed that the quality of the service and staff has decreased dramatically. The workers are rude and careless and seemingly rush you out of the salon. In addition to this, despite recent renovations, the store has become increasingly unclean, not to mention the fact that the staff eats at their stations and rarely wear gloves. During my most recent eyebrow wax, the employee was moving my head into uncomfortable positions and had her bare hands all over my face and mouth throughout the waxing which was both inappropriate and disgusting. The owners also seemingly do not care about customer experience and are there only to collect their money and get you out of the salon as quickly as possible. They recently began offering free beverages with service, which is definitely meant to compensate for a rushed, unclean and generally unfriendly experience. While I have given iSpa many chances over the last few years in hopes that they would improve, I will not be returning. read more
