Another superb dinner with John and the team at Iachetti's. We shared an entree of ribs with pesto and 'bacon hash', delicious as usual. The mains I shared with my wife was a sea bass special- crispy and sublime- and fettuccini with clam sauce. The pasta had a light broth base- as opposed to oil- and was lightly flavored but served with grated cheese and pepper flakes, so I was able to 'kick it up'; also very tasty. Had a great meal last night at Iachetti's. The food was delicious. Our service was wonderful. Totally worth the travel. We ordered the fried calamari (very crispy), stuffed artichoke, shrimp diablo (special), chicken francese and mediterranean chicken cutlet white pizza (really good. Iachetti's is one of our favorite restaurants in the Bergen County area. Food: The menu is innovative and every single item on it is mouth watering. The owner often comes out of the kitchen to introduce the dish and explain what subtle nuances make the dish special and delicious. We've tried almost everything on the menu, from the crispy zucchini and eggplant chips to the Prime Rib to the delicious honey and vanilla glazed roasted duck. The duck is to die for! And the homemade gnocchi is the best we've ever had. You really can't go wrong any item! Bring a nice bottle of wine. It's BYOB :) Atmosphere: The restaurant itself is very cute, cozy, and gives off a homey vibe. You feel welcomed the second you walk through the door, as if you're walking into someone's living room. There's also an exposed brick oven that is very tastefully done and is a nice highlight. You can see the owner's passion come through in every element of the restaurant. Catering/Events: This is what prompted the review. We love this place so much, we recently decided to host my birthday here for 20 people. To say that John (owner) and his team skilled the event is an understatement. The table was beautifully set, the bar was set up to handle all of the booze we brought in, the wait staff was incredibly attentive, and the food was (unsurprisingly) amazing. Everyone had an amazing time and left feeling stuffed! It's one thing to get this experience with a small group, but for them to be able to scale up for larger events and execute it flawlessly is 5+ stars worthy! WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN!?!?! My bridal shower was at Iachetti's Kitchen on 6/25 and it was truly the best decision we could've made! We had brunch & John put together a delicious menu that our guests are still RAVING about - from flatbreads, to pancakes to chicken and waffles it was all INCREDIBLE. Menu aside, John is an absolute pleasure & really goes far out of his way to make sure the day is perfect. He even noticed that I was busy talking & not really eating so he sent us home with more food. His staff is also wonderful & extremely attentive. The whole team really makes you feel comfortable & at home. It was the perfect setting for an intimate party and I will be thinking of any possible excuse to host another event there! We had dinner last night and it was amazing, the clams and mussels were to die for. Our friends said the mussels were awesome, the best they have ever had in over 50 years of eating them. They were also Gluten-Free, Iachetti's has fantastic Gluten-Free options on their menu. This is great because my wife has Celiac Disease and she doesn't have to worry about feeling left out John, the owner is the most welcoming person you could meet and makes you feel like a celebrity. The staff and service were spot-on they gave us enough time to talk without being pushy. The food came out in a timely manner and was prepared flawlessly we had the Seafood Paella. It's also BYOB so you save a lot of money and the Bottle King is right across the street. Will be back soon with my clients. read more

John and the team always treat us so well when we come in. We got curbside pickup the last few times due to dining rooms closed for COVID-19. We pickup the family meals kits and it is so delicious at a very good price. Enough to feed the family AND have some leftovers. The meatballs are PERFECT. I love this cozy restaurant with the wood burning oven! Their lunch menu is my fave! John, the owner is the nicest guy and a Paramus hometown boy. The food is DELICIOUS! Here's a handy tip... the restaurant is right across the road from Bottle King. The restaurant is BYOB, and that means not only can you bring your own wine, but your favorite spirits. This place is soooo nice. My husband and I had a delicious lunch there today. He had the steak pizzaiola and I had the chicken marsala. They come with soup or salad and dessert. I found Ichettie's Kitchen on Instagram and decided to give them a try. They had posted a to good to be true menu featuring a 5 course meal for at least 4 people for only $50! My daughter argued with me and insisted that price for all that food had to be $50 per person... Well I was right and it was all for $50. Everything is individually packed per person! Every other to go I've had was packed family style. So their attention to detail and the hard work they put into carefully an individually packing everything is quite rare. The hot bread was homemade the salad was unique with lots of prettily cut vegetables. There was onion fritters that were to die for and we chose the penne vodka, which was also great. We had the seafood bake which was exceptionally fresh and had a vast amount of shrimp, clams and mussels in a light broth. Also included was a tray of delicious fried rice and another tray filled with green beans. There was also 4 slices of cake! The owner, John was so welcoming and appreciative. John and his wife cook everything fresh and work so hard to serve the community. I've had their food three times, IN July, when my husband and I moved to Fair Lawn we ordered and picked up 3 dinners. I was satisfied enough to return last month with my daughter. She too thoroughly enjoyed her meal. This was our first time having dinner out since July. Finally, my husband and I decided to eat indoors in a restaurant last night, and knew Iachetti's would be the perfect place. I was hosting a small thanksgiving celebration with family and I just didn't have the time to cook. I ordered the Iachettis Thanksgiving Feast as well as a tray of chicken parm and meatballs. The food was amazing! My husband picked it up the morning of our celebration, all of it was packed perfectly, warm and just needed to be reheated before we served our dinner later in the day! John, the owner, was so easy to work with and made the whole experience stress free and easy. My cousin is super picky when it comes to meatballs and she said they were some of the best she has had. I had my husband's family over for Pre- Thanksgiving yesterday and we ordered Iachetti's Kitchen. I saw a post on Instagram advertising their Take Out Thanksgiving Dinner. The menu looked amazing, so we decided to give them a call. I spoke with John (the owner) and explained that I had a dairy allergy and he was more than accommodating to my needs. The food was delicious and the turkey was cooked perfectly! The sides were unique while still keeping to the traditional Thanksgiving meal. The stuffing was my favorite! I highly recommend Iachetti's for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner without the hassle of being in the kitchen all day long! read more

Recently, Iachetti's catered our 50th class reunion. The hor douevres and dinner entrees were so delicious and so enjoyed by all. Through the entire evening, classmates were commenting on the fabulous food that added to the festivities of the evening making for a super reunion. I especially have to rave about my favorites, the short rib sliders (hor d) and the filet of sole stuffed with crabmeat (one of the buffet entrees)-Yummy! and also the chocolate chip cookies were an awesome finish to the evening. John made for a very memorable class reunion with classmates from near and far eager to have another meal at his restaurant. Many requested that we book him for our next reunion in 5 years. Excellent little spot in every way and by all accounts. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a smiling woman who turned out to be the owner's wife and sat our party of 9 (including 3 kids) right away. The first impression was a good one and would set the tone for rest of the experience. After being seated, we were immediately introduced to our waiter, Dane. Let me just say that every restaurant needs a Dane or three. His service was top notch even when one of their staff members suddenly fell ill and required EMS. Everyone was clearly and understandably rattled but they didn't miss a beat. The food paralleled the service. Some of the highlights were the oven roasted bbq wings (unfuckinbelievable), zucchini chips with a garlic aioli, meatballs, and crab cakes. Seriously, that chicken though. Oh yea, they brought out a chocolate pudding for my niece's bday that was incredible too. At the end, I got to meet the owner and then it all became clear. He was a friendly, warm personality who showed that he genuinely cares about each of his customers. Clearly, everything good at this spot starts at the top. We started with a BYOB from Oklahoma, along with some Iachetti's meatballs as starters, than I had the beef stuff ravioli and my husband had Marsala chicken breast, everything was delicious. Our server, Ioana, was great, she was able to tell us what was really good in the menu and the specials of the day. The owner of the restaurant, John, was great, helpful and very nice. I have to say a waste of money, the pork while it had a outstanding cook and was beautiful piece of meat. It was seasoned with vinegar that vinegar never burned of it was uneatable, I also had the risotto that resembled the makings of rice mush, over cooked, I only picked out the shrimp. This is a mixed review. Some friends recommended this restaurant. For starters, the owner was very friendly and greeted us warmly. Also, the menu had some interesting choices that we looked forward to having. The other person had the paella and I ordered pasta with crumbled sausage, garlic and oil. The paella, while good, had a gloppy consistency that seemed like overcooked rice. They ate only about half of it. The pasta in my dish was way overcooked and fell apart when I tried to pick it up with the fork. And, instead of garlic and oil it was swimming in what seemed like a beef broth with just a few slivers of garlic. I tried the Belgian waffle for dessert and the waffle had an undercooked, doughy consistency. It is sad because I think this place has a lot of potential, but not with food prepared like this. read more

The owner, I believe his name is John, is very welcoming. He is also an active participant in the dining experience to make you feel comfortable. He will often assist the server in bringing out your food to make sure it is hot and your experience is pleasant. However, the style of food served is very, very rich with butter, cream and salt. If you like this style of eating than this is your place and I would suggest the creamed spinach with your meal, which was literally spinach sitting in a cup of cream and butter or the pasta fagioli soup, which also had so much cream in it that I actually thought I ordered Penne with Vodka Sauce. However, our server reassured me that it was the soup. I make pasta fagioli quite often at home, and I have never added cream to it so that was not a taste I enjoyed. On another occasion, I had the Cornish Hen but unfortunately it was so salty that I couldn't eat it. The restaurant seems busy so it appears that there are plenty of people who enjoy rich, salty foods. Personally, that style of eating is not for me. As much as I'd like to support this local restaurant and the owner I will not return. read more

I read about this family-run Italian restaurant in Dining Out magazine. It sounded great. It was great. The meal started with an amuse bouche. Nice touch. Also appreciated was the homemade bread with a dipping sauce. (I hate that so many restaurants don't serve bread anymore; or if they do, there is a charge.) The menu had a lot of great options and there were several specials as well. The four of us ordered three appetizers and four entrees and everything was very good. We had a half order of gnocchi with sausage and olive and oil and loved it. The gnocchi were light as air (maybe the best I've ever had), and the sausage was plentiful and flavorful. The homemade mozzarella and heirloom tomatoes were spot on, and we also liked the delicate parmesan crusted rice balls. All of us really liked our entrees: pork chop; baby back ribs; shrimp risotto; and crab cakes. Very flavorful and good size portions. We had no room for dessert. The service was very warm and friendly. You could tell the owner John was happy we were there. I was a bit surprised the restaurant wasn't fuller on a Saturday night, but I guess mid-August is prime vacation time. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. read more

Went for brunch. Can not understand how it got so many stars. Absolutely the worst brunch I ever had. 1/2 hour to get out food when we and one other table were the only people in the whole restaurant. Two people finally got there food but the other two didn't get their food for another 5 minutes. When it finally came I had the poached eggs the were raw and cold. The spinach was barely cooked the bread underneath was mush. And to insult it further there was a tablespoon of potatoes. Why bother? Another person ordered the mozzarella tomato arugula omelet. First it wasn't a omelet. More like scrambled eggs. No tomatoes and the arugula was next to it. Strange. I can understand why no one was there but I don't understand the stars.
