Wow--what an unforgettable experience from start to finish! From the moment we were picked up at the airport to our drop-off at the end of the trip, everything was seamless. The staff at Iberostar were incredibly accommodating and genuinely eager to meet our every need. We enjoyed delicious meals at a variety of on-site restaurants, each offering something unique. The entire resort was spotless, and our room--with its peaceful balcony--was the perfect place to unwind and relax. While the pool could've been a bit cleaner, it wasn't off-putting--just a natural result of being such a large, well-used space. Overall, we had an amazing time and would absolutely return!

They offer a wide range of amenities, including a wave pool, lazy river, slides, a kiddie water park, a golf course, a spa with a hydro pool, an air gun shooting range, an archery range, and more. They also host live shows at night. There are also places to make reservations for dinner, ranging from semi-formal to a hard-to-get Steakhouse. However, there are a few drawbacks. The wildlife can be a bit of a nuisance. There are coatis, iguanas, and raccoons roaming around, and I'm pretty sure most of them aren't aggressive, but raccoons are a different story. Also, the place is large, so it involves some walking to get to different areas. Carts are available, but you usually have to wait 5 to 10 minutes for one. I'm writing this to suggest improvements. The person who sell the membership was quite rude and made us feel uncomfortable. The food was also a bit salty most of the time. The place also needs more light at night.

This is a long one, please bear with me! We had a wonderful 9 day stay here with our family. This is an all inclusive hotel which included buffets, curated restaurants, taco shop, burger spots, Coffee shops, crepes & ice cream shops. * The stars of our stay had to be the staff! We had so many lovely encounters with many wonderful people. I want to thank Rodrigo in the prestige lounge for helping us get dinner reservations! Emmanuel from the prestige bar for keeping us hydrated during our entire trip. He even gave us a cocktail class which was so much fun! Rodolfo & Jose at the snake bar made us laugh multiple times and kept checking up on us to make throughout the night. Santiago at the members pool bar was such a blast, literally made the best drinks to keep us cool! He made us so many colorful shots and kept us entertained. On our last night we met Isaias, he went out of his way to make sure we were good. My mom wasn't feeling well and he somehow managed to get us a chicken noodle soup for her. He was one of the best hostess we had! Last but not least the lovely staff at the buffet & restaurants Rodrigo, Adrian, and Lourdes! * Let's talk about the food, There was a wide variety of food selections during dinner. For breakfast and lunch you are a bit limited to whichever buffet is open in your resort. I will say the buffet options were just okay, the food got a bit repetitive. The curated restaurants did offer new items that couldn't be found at the buffets but a lot of their sides seemed like they came from the buffet. However, for an all inclusive that is to be expected! *They also have plenty of pools available as well as water slides, a wave pool and a lazy river which are perfect for family's with small children. One key thing to note, if you are expecting cold pools the riviera maya isn't the place to go. They do their best to try to keep the pools cold but because of the direct sunlight the pools will be warm, some may even be hot. * Now the room itself, we had a suite which was spacious with a kind size bed! The bathroom was big with a stand in shower and a jacuzzi tub. The rooms are kept at 22C but we had to ask for ours to be dropped as the room was still a bit too warm! Housekeeping came every day and kept everything nice and tidy! * During our trip we did run into some slight issues that were resolved quickly! Our safe died on us and we couldn't get it open, our door batteries also died on us but security did come quick for both and helped us out. * overall if you are a member at any level of the iberostar family you will have a wonderful time! This is because they are quicker to offer you reservations for dinner as well as other perks like massages and better alcohol at the bars. Now if you are not a member or not looking to become one, you might be better off coming during the slower seasons.

Private pool for our building- gorgeous day, sparkling clean water!

Everything about this resort is wonderful. The ocean is full of sargassum, but employees are trying their best to remove it from the ocean. Good news is that there are plenty of pools to cool off, and the restaurants are cool too. The food is delicious in every way! I love how they pay extra attention to conservancy and eco-friendly practices. They're even not serving any lobster for a few months because this is mating season. If you come here and are unhappy, I just don't know what to tell you. Can't wait to start saving up to try the new Iberostar resort opening in Brazil! Everyone working here is so kind and respectful and welcoming. We are loving every day here!

Stayed here this week and was honestly disappointed with the resort. The food was pretty awful (what Mexican resort doesn't offer freshly mashed avocados for the guacamole?), drinks were just not good (including the filtered water), and the amenities and staff were disappointing. The staff members were ALWAYS on their phones, front desk staff were unfriendly, same with the pool bartenders. Our room was extremely humid & hot (bedding and towels felt WET the entire time). The napkins and bedding had stains on them - multiple occurrences. The furniture just seemed cheap and the hotel needs major upgrading. There were some pretty views and the beachfront was beautiful. For the price you're spending, look to stay elsewhere.

Amazing customer service all the staff was so nice especially Raul , javier y says. Food was okay! Felt very welcomed for sure would recommend 10/10 Servicio era excelente especialmente de Raúl y Javier y sayd/sed. Nos sentimos muy bienvenidas! Si lo recomendaríamos

After recently returning from a vacation with a group of family and friends, I feel compelled to warn others against staying at the Iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya Suites. My family and friends gather once a year in the summer to travel since the kids are out of school, and this year, we decided to stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, there were several issues we encountered during our stay. Upon arrival, we were placed on the third floor of a building with a broken elevator, which was a significant issue for my 1-year-old and 3-year-old who require a stroller. We were not notified of the broken elevator until we were already on our way to our room, and it was inconvenient to carry the stroller up and down the stairs multiple times a day. I paid extra to stay next to the pool, but the room with the broken elevator was the only one available, so we were given that instead. When I requested that we be moved to a ground floor room, the hotel refused, and the only available rooms had one bed or required an additional fee, which was not my mistake. After a frustrating conversation with the hotel, they finally offered us a room that we could move into at 2 pm, which we were promised was a poolside room; however, once we moved, it was much further away from the pool. In addition, the room we were originally given had a bug infestation on all surfaces, and even after I cleaned them with disinfecting wipes, they reappeared within a few hours. The air conditioning in both rooms was also inadequate. The hotel advertises multiple dining options, but we found that reservations were rarely available unless we agreed to a long timeshare presentation. The hotel and rooms were also extremely outdated and in dire need of renovations. I do not recommend this hotel to others.

Website does not mention time restrictions
    Delaya M.

FALSE ADVERTISING. We came here for a family vacation. Their website advertised that star camp is available for children 3 and under with supervision. They don't have any time restrictions posted or more details regarding the limits. They posted a nice indoor playground and outdoor on their website. We're here now and they are telling us that these are only available for kids 3 and under from 12pm-1pm. They have the kangaroo room which is a room with no air conditioning filled with some target toys for kids way younger. The staff won't give a suitable solution or refund us for the next two nights so we can move to child friendly resort. It's too hot to be out in the pool all day or ise the outdoor playgrounds.

My husband and I have made a total of 4 trips to Iberostar, with 3 being at the Maya.... so, I am saddened to see the negative reviews. Although, I can kinda see why. I haven't had anything but positive experiences with this resort, especially this last visit. This resort is so very clean, ALL THE TIME... and man does it smell GREAT. They are actively renovating and updating the rooms, and streamlining entry. This resort has a total of 5 hotels, with each having their own level... as you pay to level up, you have the luxury of enjoying your amenities and the hotels on 'lower levels'. And the staff are SO very helpful and accommodating, and so very pleasant. The only issue I have come across is they are forever trying to sell you their version of a time share -- that's VERY annoying. There's food available ALL time time as well -- whether it be buffet, 'stands' on the beach, served dinners, or room service. And the food is actually good! Amazing cuts of meats, sushi, and fresh fruits --- and as much alcohol you can consume. What my husband and I witnessed this time, was (presumed) quality control -- we were sitting near the main bar when we saw a staff member testing the cleanliness of selected glasses, bar spoons, and accessories. Very impressive. They are also working towards preserving the mangroves and moving towards making everything compostable. I am excited to see additional upgrades over the years as we will definitely be making more trips!

TL; DR The overall score is a 3 out of 5. Or a C This is an all-inclusive resort, and I will rate each part of it separately. Food: B. Lots of choices and most are good, always something available to your taste. This includes specialty restaurants. Nothing jaw dropping but solid. We had nightmares from RIU Aruba regarding food quality. Luckily here is much better. Deserts are mostly meh, except always good ice cream. Also, especially restaurant reservations kind of problem to get and have rather very limited and complex open hours/days. Some restaurants were clearly understaffed like Olivetti and El Museo. Some where just closed like El Tapatio. Drinks: B, considering value. included domestic beer, XX Dos Equis, isn't bad, especially with added lime. Some bottles in bars (non-club) include decent choices like Wild Grouse and Bulliet. Also, few of gin choices. All strictly budget stuff, but decent. Ground: generally, very pretty and well maintained, but not spotless. 4/5 Activities: C here's the reason I must reduce at least two star- the main reason my family picked this resort is due to very spectacularly looking slides. The baby waterpark/pirate ship was open, and so was the lazy river and wave pool - all good, but the damn water slides were closed for entire duration of our 8 days stay. Rumored to be open next day after we left. Generally, the resort calendar is full of various activities, but without the resort app it's nearly impossible finding them. Do check the resort app or call resort directly if you're planning to enjoy a specific activity or facility. Transportation: B The golf cart train was helpful, but the app missing real-time updates. A major letdown. Also, while golf cart drivers were generally very helpful, it seems its running more on good effort, rather than well-oiled system. (Carts are electric, but you catch my meaning). There is no way of calling them (other than for a check-out), not very clear which cart goes where, other than asking the drivers who are also busboys. The beach: C Honestly its barely okay. The seaweeds there indeed cleaned but not very thoroughly and only twice a day by special tractor. Plenty of waves as there was nothing to break them (such as riffs or island) During our boat trip the captain was nice enough to let us hang out on beach a bit south from the hotel where water was protected from waves by riffs and it was a spectacular alas secluded beach. Coati (the Mexican equivalent of raccoons) were cute at first but rapidly became a food-stealing nuisance. It makes stay on near unpleasant unless you don't consume any drinks or food. Staff does nothing to them. Speaking of animals, tons of coatis, some small variation of water pig (size of small pug), peacocks, wild monkeys, and rumored but unseen by us - pair of flamingos. Finally, the room. Solid C. We picked double beds (2 adults with 2 pre-teen kids) and later added another twin folding bed. The AC was fine, you could easily adjust the temp from inside and it wasn't overly noisy. The cleanliness was ok. The tech: The TV was small (about 40"). 98% of 40 or so channels were in Spanish and all of them are in 480p or non-HD. Cmon, this 2024 ffs. Somewhat less than intuitive if you switch to HDMI1 port you do get some customized version of Chromecast devices, which are sometimes buggy but work. It doesn't support Airplay, do plan accordingly. Wi-Fi around property could be spotty but it was good in room and inside hotel buildings. Another "feature" is once you leave the room, and there are sensors both inside and outside, all 3 electrical outlets in room getting turned off. Not very convenient if you plan to both leave the room and leave something charging. Room location near beach meant that it was pretty far away from only lunch/dinner buffet restaurant, so it wasn't ideal. Choice your poison so to say. Room was ok in terms of finish, and no real issues with cleaning, but in terms of finishing quality I spotted plenty of cut corners and shoddy workmanship, especially in bathroom. See pictures, with crack inside one of sinks, is particularly glaring as not expected in so-called 5 stars hotel. So, room has a mini fridge that includes a few sodas, juices, and beers. Sometimes cleaning people bothered to refill all sometimes not. Also don't drink tap water here or you'll get bad diarrhea. Water bottles are in the room but are empty and you expected to fill them yourself in end of hallway like in cheap motel. I get whole nature conservation stuff, but imho for 5 stars hotels these bottles should have been prefilled by room service. Sales meeting was indeed annoying and never lasted promised 90 minutes. If you're not interested in timeshares, once the breakfast starts telling the sales person that they are on the clock. Luckily the never bothered us again after it. Maybe because we were very clear we don't want it. Bottom line--would we come back here? Never without kids, but with kids, it is possible to

We just got back from staying at this resort for 5 nights and it was the worst hotel experience my family ever had. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. My husband and I were harassed multiple times via in person/text/call throughout our stay regarding their "welcome breakfast" which was a scam. The food was the same each day and to be honest it sucked. There was huge party of 1,000 guests so getting into the buffet was ridiculous. Mind you we had 2 little ones so to wait 30+ minutes to go into the buffet was not ok. It was like that for several days and several buffet locations. We found broken plastic in their plastic water cups and the employees did nothing about it. There was also a power outage at the resort that lasted from 7pm - 1am in 95-100 degree weather. No accommodations were made and we had our 4 year old and 1 year old with us. To make things even worse we came to checkout the day before to ensure we paid for everything. Checkout was at 12 and we asked to have a late checkout since our flight wasn't until 5:30 and the hotel denied us a late checkout. Stay away from this resort. Wish I could give 0 stars. We found this hotel and booked through Southwest and will be putting in a complaint. Horrible experience.

This is probably my favorite resort in Mexico to date. The staff are extra friendly, incredibly happy and actually appear to enjoy helping! We recently spent 4 days at Iberostar Paraiso Maya. It was dang near perfect! Check-in was fast and easy. We were presented with welcome drinks immediately and had our room within 20min. We met with the concierge prior to heading to our room and were able to get reservations for each night. The requirement for reservations for all non-buffet restaurants is my only complaint. Housekeeping stopped by 2x daily & left us a new towel art creation each time. We opted to leave daily tips as we thought it was deserved. Mini-fridge was well stocked, tho not incredibly cold. After seeing our preferences from day 1, the fridge was stocked based on those. Bar service was top notch & the grounds were well-kept. Restaurants were clean and service was on par. We were made to feel welcome by everyone we met. There is now an app and it works perfectly. Wifi works well all through the resort, including the beach areas. It was a fantastic stay!

We had a wonderful time at this resort! I loved every single minute we were here!…read more Beautiful grounds and a wonderful place on earth to be. As long as you are behind the gates that is.... Outside of the gates is a whole different story. It's pretty intense out there with the police being fully militarized. They have machine guns mounted to trucks they stand on and ride around just for the presence, there are tons of people wanting to take advantage of dumb Americans at every turn. Watch yourself if you travel alone in Cozumel. It's designed solely to attract tourists. That draws out some colorful personalities in my experience. Traveled with ease from the oh so lovely Cancun International Airport. Interesting spot to say the least. We were warned not to communicate or accept anything from anyone except our driver. We arrive to the hotel really excited, somewhat cautious, and ready to have some fun. We were greeted at the front door and we handled a little paperwork, and then we were taken to our room by a wonderfully helpful chap. He showed us around the room, gave us a quick run down of the grounds, described the amenities, food situation, and some other pleasantries. He talked about the dining situation and gave us a map tour so we're would know how to navigate the grounds. They have a cool locker system in each room. The service folks just leave your anything in the locker and you don't have to interact with them at all. They just let you know it is there. Nice feature. The grounds themselves are absolutely gorgeous! It is so well kept, the attention to every detail goes so far beyond a normal resort. They comb the beach every morning. I kid you not. They seriously rake the entire shoreline before dawn. They also run a tractor to clear the seaweed from the beach. Insane dedication to making your stay great. The restaurant situation is so fucking rad. They have just about any food you might want covered between the what seemed like a dozen restaurants at the resort. I ate and ate and ate and ate.... I ate between meals, I ate between those meal and snack times. We had so much food!! Every dinner was 5-8 courses. I'm positive I could stay right here forever and never leave. Food heaven!! Spa is great too! It's a lovely relaxing oasis of self care. That's another review, but it's great. Don't take my word for it. Go for yourself! Cold plunges are good for the soul! They have shows every night in the theater and there was some sort of event being held every night in the common area. Some were private, others public. They construct stages, eating areas, weddings, happy hours with bands, and even corporate conferences. It's pretty wild the amount to building and tearing things down the do here. We rented a cabana bed one day and at the end of the day the built and transformed the beach into an elaborate engagement spot with candles everywhere, flowers, and a table for two. Very nice touch! All in all a fantastic experience. My only gripe was that the room smelled of mildew and/or too music moisture. C said something about it when we got there but it wasn't that noticeable to me. When I got home and unpacked my suitcase is when it hit me. There were clothes that I did not wear, just sat in the drawers and repacked, they all had to be washed as they smelled terrible after being packed and transported back home. I would come back monthly if possible. Nice place. '26 - 74

We chose this resort for our honeymoon expecting a romantic, stress-free experience. Unfortunately,…read morewhat we received was misleading, disappointing, and poorly handled. We paid for a Junior Suite Ocean View, clearly confirmed in our reservation. What we were given instead was a Junior Suite Tropical View with no ocean view at all -- not even partial. This is not a matter of interpretation; it is a clear mismatch between what was sold and what was delivered. From the beginning, the hotel was aware this was our honeymoon. We did not expect special treatment, but we did expect honesty and follow-through. Other honeymoon couples received gestures and attention; we received none -- and more importantly, we didn't even receive the room category we paid for. After reporting the issue, we were told the hotel was "fully booked" and that management would "look into it." Days went by with no resolution. Eventually, a supervisor explicitly offered a partial refund for the room category difference and a one-day beach cabana as a gesture. We accepted this in good faith. At checkout, the supervisor was suddenly "in a meeting." We provided our card details to another staff member so the refund could be processed. After departure, we followed up multiple times and received absolutely no response. No confirmation, no email, no refund, nothing. To be clear: * The food and general service were fine * The beach is beautiful * But selling an Ocean View and delivering a Tropical View is unacceptable, especially for a honeymoon * Offering a refund and then going silent is worse This experience seriously damaged our trust. A resort that markets itself around romance and special occasions should do better -- or at the very least, be honest and responsive. We would not return and cannot recommend this property based on how this situation was handled.

We ventured here with my partner and his family for his 40th birthday celebration, and the entire week didn't disappoint. First, the staff is incredibly kind and hospitable. Each morning you are greeted with smiles and they always make themselves available or attentive to your needs. I barely could open a door during the entirety of my stay. A major shout out to the entertainment team, specifically Bidi Bidi Bum Bum (her nickname), who kept us relaxed and busy during the week. Bidi is incredible. Next, the overall hotel esthetic is quite nice. It certainly has its own unique design decisions, but the accommodations in your room are amazing. Each suite has its own mini fridge stocked with beer and wine that they will refill each day. Every room has a coffee machine and a large bathroom as well. They have three pools, one of which is indoor and the other is a quiet bool. The main pool has a massive bar where cocktails are poured every day from 9 - 7. Not only that, the five restaurants and the buffet have so much food I think I could not eat for a whole week after the large amounts of steak and seafood I ingested. Overall, the price and experience are definitely worth it. I highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for an adults only, vibrant food and drink experience.

As someone that has been to 10+ resort experiences across Mexico, Jamaica, DR, St Marteen and other Caribbean this is up there as one of the best. The price is incredibly reasonable 2 people for 5 days was around $1900 for all inclusive. There was 5+ restaurants, 1 beach restaurants, 1 buffet option on the resort. The Mexican dining restaurant was sensational, the steakhouse was my least favorite. A ton of different bar options around the resort. The liquor options were not bottom shelf, good mid tier options. And direct beach access, the most impressive part was it was seaweed season yet they were pretty clear. The grounds were very pretty and ton nature The room was spacious and the views from the balcony was gorgeous. Be mindful of the nature there are lemurs. They offered shows and night entertainment every night. My favorite was the fireshow and karaoke bar which is open most night. There were various pool options. There was a quiet pool option and a large more lively pool with a swim up bar. It was good vibes and entertainment. BEWARE of the time-share pitch. They will sell you on spending your morning doing this. We got out of it. Its a bit annoying.

The pools are great and the lazy river was a ton of fun for the kids. There are so many options of things to do both inside and outside of the resort. One of my favorite things is that activities just kept coming to us! There's water Zumba and a water fitness class. There's a fun competitive sport in the pool every single day. They set up a really cool obstacle course in the pool for kids. We had a dance party, a foam party, and most importantly for the adults - a swim up bar with bar tenders that made excellent margaritas, daquiris, pina coladas and caipirihnas. The staff here were super friendly and that goes for every part of the hotel. The service at the restaurants. the towel person, the entertainment. Everyone was friendly and attentive to our kids and to the adults in our party. The only negative I would say is the food. But honestly, Ive never had good food at an all inclusive resort so thats just something that is par for the course. There's a grill where you can request freshly grilled meats and fish, and if you stick to that, you'll be good. Otherwise, it was all subpar food. I didnt take a star away because I dont expect food to be good at a resort, and this is based on my experience. how relaxing it felt, how much fun the kids had. the cleanliness of the beach and pool and resort in general. the fun and entertainment, and of course, the well made and delicious drinks. A 5 star experience all around. We will definitely be back!

I am going to do my best to provide a fair and honest review. However, this resort is a classic…read more"lipstick on a pig" situation. If you value any of the below, reconsider booking here. - Customer Service - Value for your money - Food Quality I will touch on the aspects of all below. First I must say, with customer service, if a tip is expected or you are in a situation where a tip is appropriate your service will be exceptional. However, if it is simply an issue you are having, they do not care. For example we are 1 week in to our 2 week (12 day) stay, and the internet died In our room. Not really a big deal, but when brought to their attention they assumed we simply didn't know what we were doing, and didn't know how to connect. They made us feel like idiots for an hour, before they finally looked into the issue. Despite multiple screenshots being sent that we were indeed connected, but had no internet connection. It's so wonderful to pay $35,000 to stay here and be treated like a moron. For my next example, the "service" at the buffet. Breakfast service is fantastic, never have we had poor service at breakfast or lunch in fact. However we have been through now 3 dinners where a server never appeared. I had to get my own water canisters from the serving stations so that my family and I could have a drink, and our plates were never cleared. Once we were sat with 6 place settings for 7 people, and they actually argued that there were 7 there. I am not blind, and I can indeed count to at least 10 regularly. Finally the host set down a single fork, knife, and spoon and tossed a napkin at our 7th guest. Again, merely two examples of continuous bad experiences. - Value for your money ties into service and food. The food on the buffet is subpar, and always cold. It appears there is a lot of options, but they repeat frequently and a lot of the time dinner is what's for breakfast. For example the day before yesterday I had mushroom stew, which wasn't bad, but then it was what was for breakfast the next day. Not many fruit options, in particular for a tropical destination. We have more variety in the middle of winter in Canada on a fruit tray from the grocery store than what they offer here. - The food ... ah the food. I chose to write this now because my daughter seems to have gotten food poisoning from here. Initially I was going to wait until the end of our stay but I am done. All of the seafood has been overcooked and dry, while items like Lamb and Pork are undercooked. Due to the humidity the cereals are not edible, as they are completely soggy. You can't bite through it even, again we're talking cereal here. Proper storage is for sure not happening in my opinion. Things are readily available here, which is nice, however it does not make up for everything else. We also wanted to plan a beach dinner, and despite the friends and family dinner being listed at 1500 pesos on their own app, they will only offer us the Romantic option, which is over 4000 pesos per person. We were quoted $2300 USD for a dinner for 7. We have had their food, and service so this price is quite laughable. *** Edit to add*** They have now given my full name and room number to total strangers. This is a major safety issue for my family. We are also up to two people with food poisoning now. Just found out accidentally that you need to have a reservation to be able to eat on the 24th, then they told us that we also need one the 25th. So I go to guest services and I am once again told I am stupid (Alfred literally spelled open out like O P E N to me like I'm dumb) because apparently you do not need a reservation to eat the 25th. I am apparently just supposed to take their word for it. ***Second Edit*** The hotel is insistent on doubling down that they are perfect. Please do not waste your money and stay here. We were seated at their Christmas dinner, to a table that quite literally had dirt on it. The food was disgusting as well. Mashed potatoes tasted like smoke, the cranberry sauce (yes labelled was cranberry sauce) was made with Apples. On top of the lack of food safety here, they are going to cause someone to die of an allergic reaction, if not just food poisoning. The room above us continues to scream and move furniture back and forth all night and day (I really want to know what they're doing?!) and the hotel won't do a thing. It took us 2 hours to get bedding and a cot for our son, and then when it arrived it was disgustingly dirty. Now we are trying to finally leave this craphole, and we have private transfers booked. The bell man took it upon himself to come and scream and argue with me that we need to be on the bus, despite us telling him we have a transfer. Please use caution before booking here.

We recently enjoyed it with dinner, which was a delicious fantasy come to life. Jungala has Latin America's longest lazy river and we had the best day there. The staff were so so nice and accommodating. Super clean and so many wild animals and plants call it home, I can see why! The Coatis are the cutest and the iguana / lizards are huge and just hang out by the pool sunbathing. They had a water park on site, a huge PGA golf course, and also cirque's de soleil - "Joya" - the only one on the east coast of Mexico. The show was outstanding and highly recommended doing the dinner before the show! There are shuttles from place to place, but there is still a lot of walking. My favorite was the flamingos, and crocodile tour! The easiest way to navigate around is the Vidanta app. It was fun checking everyday to see the daily activities and where to eat (I also planned ahead before the trip). They had a lot of evening festivities and loved getting dressed up and having all the local food. All the pools have a bar which was so convenient. The main pool was near the beach and easy access to the water! They have a grocery mart with the best crepes, along with a gift shop and some snacks and food and alcohol. We went during Halloween week and they had everything set up for Halloween and also Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). It was gorgeous with the decorations. This resort is for time-share holders only! They had a lot of security to get in and out which made us feel safe that no one was wondering around. Your room key is a wristband which was good because we never lost our room key! Really have to give it up for the staff. Everyone was awesome & great!! Made a great memorable trip!!

She's a…read moretravel agent, and I travel around with her, trying the resorts so she can recommend them to her customers. From the time we got here, with the ease of the check-in, to the rooms, the food, the amenities, and just the overall service, this place is run like a well-oiled machine! This is an older resort that still has the older Mexican Hacienda feel, with all of the modern upgrades and additions. You can tell they've put a lot of work into keeping this resort as authentic as possible. There was clearly a lot of thought put into every change and upgrade that was made to this resort. Our room was a corner suite at the end of the resort overlooking the ocean, the Dunas Suites. We thoroughly enjoyed getting up every morning to watch the sunrise, drink our coffee, and start the day! We had our own private pool, which was great to come back to and just soak and talk at the end of each day. The room and accommodations were absolutely top-notch! The food was absolutely amazing! We typically don't do the buffet, but we tried it, and it was the nicest buffet we have ever been to. We tried a variety of the different restaurants, and they were all absolutely amazing! For anyone that is a foodie, this is probably the best food I've ever had at an all-inclusive resort. They have three pools here: the Silver, which is a smaller pool in more of a natural setting; the Golden Pool, which has a lazy river and goes from Building 6 to 8; and then the main pool, which is one of the largest pools we've ever seen at a resort. It's HUGE! What I liked about it is they had two different bars there, and they have rafts available, which is super convenient as we usually bring our own. And yes, they have a lot of high-end booze and make some really good drinks at the pool bars! Each night after dinner, we would end up at the Plaza España! On our way, we would stop and get a churro at the churro cart, which I highly recommend, and then we would finish with a few drinks from the La Plaza Bar and live entertainment, which was usually a DJ or a live band! The later it got, the livelier it became, as the dance floor was a pretty hot attraction! A must-stop is Café Sisal, which offers hot and cold coffee drinks, fruit drinks, a variety of different sandwiches and pastries, and of course, their ice cream! This is a big resort, and if you are staying toward the oceanside, I would strongly recommend utilizing the golf cart services. We would at certain times, but a lot of the time we found a shortcut by the big pool that cut the walk in half. They have so much to offer, with a variety of different daily activities. Overall, this place is absolutely amazing, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for an all-inclusive resort in Riviera Maya.

I was very pleasantly surprised with everything! From the food to the staff, to the activities and variety of spaces, it was really a wonderful experience. I also LOVED all the wildlife we saw! Especially the coatis. Once you arrive, you are greeted with a welcome drink and they take your luggage to your room. Our rooms weren't quite ready but we were able to head to the buffet and get some food. We had the deluxe junior suite, which was the cheapest room option. It was very spacious, with two double beds, a small couch, table and chairs, and a large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and separate shower. We loved the location of the building as it was near the pools and all the restaurants. It's a bit further from the beach, but we didn't spend much time there. The resort features several restaurants: French, Italian/Mediterranean, sushi, Mexican, Thai/Asian, a buffet, and a surf & turf restaurant. There is also a coffee shop that's open late, and food trucks at the pool areas. The food was quite good, with lots of options and incredible care when it comes to food allergies. I loved the Petite Alsace experience (a private dining experience at the French restaurant), and at $59 per person extra it was totally worth it. The only food I didn't love was the room service - it was almost always cold. But the wings were tasty! The staff at this resort make it so fun - they were always smiling and friendly, and so entertaining. Sonia at the main pool bars was the best, mixing up all the best drinks! Speaking of drinks... they have everything you could possibly think of (except aperol). The specialty shots are very fun. The afternoon pool events were a blast - we watched the mechanical bull competition, participated in aqua yoga at the pool, learned about Mexican produce at the cooking class, and more. They have nightly entertainment like DJs and karaoke in the courtyard, as well as a show every night. We loved the magic show! We also did a yoga class and the bike tour - I highly recommend the bike tour on your first day as it helps get an overview of the layout of the resort. The Golden pool area is super quiet and calm vs. the main pool area. It was nice to switch it up mid-week with a more restful afternoon on the "lazy river." Tips: -Bring an insulated mug/cup for the pool (and a larger straw for frozen drinks) -A waterproof holder for your phone/tipping money at the swim up bar is nice to have -I went back and forth on bringing inflatable loungers... I didn't pack them but wish I had. You can find the resort's blue floating pads pretty easily but they are not very versatile (I prefer ones where you can sit more upright) -Bring a game/deck of cards to play while waiting for dinner. (There is a lot of entertainment too, but it was nice to have) -Large groups (more than 8) will likely have to split up for dinner at the restaurants I'm so glad I got to experience this resort. Some of the guests we met have been there 20+ times!

Room itself was very nice but when staying at a Time Share and not having a kitchenette at least was disappointing. Shower pressure gets 2 out of 10, while there is a soaker tub that looks like it's meant for 2, it's really not. Also, the AC worked at night but I think they turn it off during the day. The biggest let down was exchanging for Mexican $ while there. My experience was bad enough. If your money from other countries isn't PRISTINE, they will not exchange it. I had one $20 with a piece missing smaller than 1/2 a grain of rice and they wouldn't take it. I also had 5 or 6 bills that had a minuscule out of ink on the edge of a bill and it wasn't until the manager could sense my frustration that he stepped in and did exchange those bills for me. Do look up exchange rates before coming to Mexico, I saw the rates anywhere from $15-20 Mexican to American. The airport was the lowest and some retail shops were the best. THE ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE exchange came when my SO tried to get pesos for $400 American. He his $200 under his keyboard and then came back to her and said "here's your $3200 for your $200." She had handed him 4 $100 bills and tried to give her change for just 2 it wasn't until she called him on it and lifted up his keyboard that he said "oh, not sure how that happened". We filed a report with management and left it at that. They may have sent a fruit bowl and chocolate strawberries to apologize but that was not sufficient seeing that Management never even apologized to us. That's all we wanted. They have central parking and a team service here because it's 5 hotels in one resort. Advantages and disadvantages to both but the tram drivers and bellmen were the stars of the shows here. My SO broke her ankle halfway thru our trip and they lent us a wheelchair and they have a special tram to haul them around. The VALET service sucked! While being told to call ahead so they were there when the tram brought is good in theory, we still waited upwards of 30 minutes longer than they said it would take. Not once was our car ready when they said it would be. Also, having the car just sit in the hot sun when not in use makes it very uncomfortable during the summer when you get in. If you're going to the beach club you can't bring food or drink and their prices are very steep. Pro level cheat is to bring a Hydroflask filled with whatever adult beverage you want for the day and just get your water from them. Also, if you want a Cabana at the club and aren't Platinum, go to the reservation booth there at 11am and let them know you'd like to wait for an unclaimed Cabana at noon. Also, the sand on the beach is nice and you can lay there but the shore at the waters edge in all rocks for quite a way and makes it very difficult to enjoy the ocean waters.
