If you are looking for a delicious meal made fresh to order, iBowl is the perfect spot to check out. They do everything in house and provide great customer service. I highly recommend trying out their gyoza and donburi!

Tasty tea and and juicy chicken curry combo. Service is very good. Love how it is family owned and operated. Clean dining area and safe location. I would walk and dine here everyday if I could.

    Crispy chicken

Tried the pork katsu and crispy chicken. Visually appealing and also tasted delicious. Would return again. Good food takes time, expect a bit of a wait.

Food and service are top notch! Restaurant is very clean inside. I was craving tonkatsu after running an errand in SF and iBowl was in the area. So glad I found this spot and tried it out. I ordered tonkatsu curry, fried chicken, and beef udon with curry. Everything was AMAZING and FRESH. I was worried the tonkatsu and fried chicken would be soggy by the time I returned to the East Bay, but nope, both items were still crispy and hot 45 minutes later and stayed crispy till dinner when my kids devoured everything.! The tonkatsu was thick and juicy, pairing well with the curry sauce that had a lot of depth in flavor. The fried chicken pieces were huge and the sauce that accompanied it was delicious. The chunks of beef were huge and tasty. The udon wasn't soggy and the shredded cabbage salad was crunchy and fresh. Portion sizes were so generous and fed our family of five. My kids were asking if I could buy more the next day. My family gave the food two thumbs up! If we lived closer, we'd go all the time! Customer service was awesome and I observed the chefs putting in so much care and effort into preparing the orders. I also love this is a mom and pop restaurant! Parking was plentiful and easy! We can't wait to go back the next time we go to SF!

It's actually inside the Bay Street mall. The owners are nice. I always go for drinks if I'm walking but.

The first couple of times was great and then it started to fall off later on. Including the texture and flavor not hitting as hard and the fact that it's closed on weekends now. Impossible for non wagies to go there, meaning I can't have any when I'm there on weekend vacation I guess, but with how everything closes early and is dying in Bay Area, I'm somehow not surprised. Very tiny spot and not much seating, so you're either taking it to go or you're praying there's a chair and a counter that's free. No big deal since I've been to other Japanese curry places like this. I've had a mix bag where the katsu was deliciously crispy and moist on the inside and days where the meat inside is dry, even drenched in curry. Hot curry sauce is Japanese hot, so it has spices in it but not spicy at all. The workers do their best for the lunch rush, so that's a plus at least. Overall, it was okay, but man the times sure have changed.

The restaurant was full when we got there, but the food still came out soon after we ordered. We had chicken katsu curry, korokke curry, and a menchi (fried ground chicken) sando. Parked easily on the side street, walked in around 3:30 in the afternoon, no hassle. The place has an authentic Japanese cafe feel, the kind where the menu has things you don't typically find at your average sushi spot. I had my eye on the sandos, specifically the Chicken Katsu Sando, but landed on the Spicy Tuna Don instead. Good call. Spicy yellowfin tuna tartare over well-seasoned sushi rice, topped with sesame, furikake, green onions, with a little radish and cucumber on the side. The tuna was very fresh, the rice was on point. Service was quick and polite - they even have an outside window for takeout. One nice detail: a neat dollop of wasabi is pasted along the inside wall of the bowl, which is a clean way of letting you control exactly how much heat you want to mix in. Tasteful presentation, but don't let that fool you. It has a legitimate kick, so calibrate accordingly. Paired it with their Honjozo dry sake cup, which was a nice complement to the meal and exactly the right call for a mid-afternoon bite. The sandos looked great on other tables and I fully intend to go back for the Chicken Katsu Sando - and then go try the wine bar next door to it. which was pretty tempting.

Good in the fact it's simple, but left me wanting more. We went for lunch. When I say the service is basic, it's that we got seated, they brought out waters and that was the only service we received during the meal. The reason for my 3 star rating is that I wasn't really wowed by anything and the value. I understand rent and overhead is expensive but $17 for that Oyakodon is bit high. I understand Unagi being priced what it is. With that being said the ramen is comparable to other ramen shops in SF.
