This place is already in excistence since 1979, and they are known for the La Palozaa, a $55,00 Ice cream tower. We were in the mood for some Ice cream, but $55.00 in Ice cream was a little too much for 4 grown men. The place, looks funny with the yellow seats, and circus animals on the wall. The Ice cream is good, not the best, but good. The servers are nice, we had a good laugh with Amanda, and she was very helpful. We ended up getting; 2 bananasplits and 2 Applepie with Ice cream. Lately, the service has been getting atrocious. Can they teach the young waitresses some awareness? Me and my girlfriend came in on a weekday evening with about 3 other groups already there. They all got their food/ice cream before us as expected. We ordered, then another group of 4 came in, ordered, and received their ice cream before we did. One of the parties was a couple of young girls hanging out doing homework. Nothing wrong with that, but our waitress would go and sit to hang out with them every chance she got. They were obviously friends with all of the employees. Don't get me wrong, the ice cream, sandwiches, and milk shakes are top notch. Been here a bunch of times, but the service and speed of staff is declining. Food is yummy. Ice cream is delicious. It just takes WAY too long to get food. If you want to get lunch here, order ahead and hope they can get to making your order before you get there. Lost a whole lunch hour waiting for food that took 15-20 minutes to order when there were only 2 other tables, who had already completed their orders before we even walked in. Ended up having to take the food to go. Had ordered a shake as well. No service recovery, didn't offer a discount or free shake. Nothing. I remember this place being better a couple years ago. I took my girls and I here for lunch and ice cream on May 6th 2019 after a busy morning of appointments and errands. We had to wait a little longer to be served because there was a little rush of people and one waitress which no big deal I'm understanding of that, once more employees showed up it was better but our new waitress admitted to forgetting we were here and nonchalantly apologized and to top it off there was what looked like a piece of insect cooked in my daughters grilled cheese I attached a picture. I asked the waitress and she again nonchalantly says, "hmm I don't know what that is... an olive pit maybe? I'll take a look in the back." I don't know many olive pits that have legs sticking out. In the end she took my meal off the bill because it was the most expensive I guess but never said what that was. This review is based on the customer service and not the ice cream. The ice cream is always good and I mean ALWAYS. I took my family and my elderly mother to ICC. We walked into the place at 2:59 PM. Inside was a family of three and a older couple. The family of three already had their order taken. As for the other couple, I don't know. As we sat there at the table, another family of about four walked in and sat down. I saw one of the employee's setting up an area for a party of 12. We sat there and we sat there to the point my Elderly mother shouted out is "is anyone going to help us." This obviously went in deaf ears because no one came to take our orders. This was now 3:17 PM. We still waited and finally at 3:26 PM, someone finally came to take our order. After our order was taken, this gentleman went to the family of four and took their order. While we sat there waiting patiently, ice cream began to come out. Oh wait that ice cream was not for us. This ice cream was for the family of four who came in well after us and then had their order taken after us. Can you see my frustration? It is truly sad. This place has so much potential. The ice cream is always good but the customer service sucks. I can see why this place is not busy when it should be busy. This is really the only ice cream parlor around that I know of. The service is always pleasant, and they do get busy. Since the servers are kids, I allow for some confusion on who got there first and got served second because they do an excellent job making the desserts and food, and the smile and treat guests like welcome friends. The servings are quite generous and fancy, and they have never botched my order. I usually get vanilla or chocolate shakes which are always fresh. I think all ice cream shops sell more of those flavors. The shakes are huge and usually very thick. It's so good I want to go there twice in a day but try to limit myself and resist going daily. If I'm really hungry I get the home made soup or fresh made sandwiches. The meat is always high quality, and everything on the sandwiches is fresh tasting and looks picture perfect. Because the service is pleasant and above average in every way and the food is top notch, I recommend going there. My only complaint is that I wasn't told they had a frequent diners club that gives you a five dollar reward after a certain number of purchases. So be sure and ask for this when you dine. You can add each visit using your phone number. Also it can get loud in there if there's a party of kids . I've had to get my food to go because children were allowed to scream and romp about. But I think that can happen at any ice cream shop. The parking is visible from the dining room. So you can keep an eye on your vehicle. It can get chilly inside, so bring your jacket in if you tend to feel cold easily. Dress casual, and enjoy! My favorite sandwich is the pastrami Rueben with mozzarella grilled on rye. I have been going here for over 30 years and I will never go again. They took off more than half of their food items off their menu, including one of a kind items. Their food now is absolutely horrible. The double bacon burger smelled rancid and tasted like it had been reheated in the microwave. They do not even have fountain drinks anymore. They charge you $2 for a canned soda and the water they serve you is tap water. Their ice cream doesn't even look or taste like it's homemade anymore. Really sad to see this place go straight downhill. They went down over the last 2 years. I will never go back there again. read more

Historically speaking, I've had awful, slow service here. It's a place I only come to if I've got a real hankering for good ice cream after my dinner. It's what prevents me from giving this place 5 stars, until I get good service every time, that won't change. Tonight, however, I was pleasantly surprised at how attentive and wonderful our server, Patrick (I think that was his name) was! Quick service with a friendly face. He was very sweet and my dinner & dessert experience was delightful! I was shocked at how quickly we got our food. I think the service is just getting worse every time I go. If it wasn't for the great ice cream, I would not have ever come back. Tonight might have changed it though. It really bothers me, when groups that come in after me - are able to get menus and drinks before me. I didn't care too much to be ignored for another 10 minutes or so - before finally receiving a menu and taking our drink order. Maybe what bothered me the most, was the waitress rolled her eyes after taking our order. I think I need to find another little place to take my four year old daughter on date night. I have so many fond memories from my childhood of birthday parties and after-soccer-game celebrations at the ICC. Every occasion was unique and yet they all had one thing in common, the La Palooza: mounds and mounds of ice cream piled high to the ceiling, topped with fountains of hot fudge and caramel sauce, garnished with gallons of whip cream and bowls of almonds. This monstrosity was a force to be reckoned with. It provoked shrieks of delight from children but shivers of fear from parents and servers alike, as thoughts of sugar rushes and clean ups awaited them. I haven't had one in years and it makes me want to relive it, that is if I could avoid the raging gut ache my once tolerant tum could handle. My mom and I will still come here while I'm home to grab a quick lunch or dinner. I only order ice cream about half the time but either way, I'm always left comforted and nostalgic. read more

I ordered a wrap-I'm pretty sure it was in the fridge for a good 8 hours, very soggy, not fresh. I believe it was around $8 I got half a wrap, half a pickle, and a very small sample of ice cream. Okay, now for the ice cream. When reading the menu, you might notice the price of certain deserts. It may seem much for this type of establishment (not much considering other types of eateries), but that is because of the generous quantity they give. I eaten here a lot and can easily say that I've always enjoyed desert. I went with 4/5 stars because they have a unique way they run your check. They have a wait staff that helps in every other way, but when it is time to pay your check, the wait staff is gone. Sometimes we'll forget this and sit with the check and our money on our table. This was before the place was sold and then reopened under new ownership. Fast forward to the new establishment and you will find much higher prices, crappy service, and ice cream portions so small I have to wonder if it is a joke. Today being a fun, special occasion (St. Patty's Day) my husband and I decided to try Ice Cream Co. for lunch. I suppose it should have been obvious the place itself is called, Ice Cream Co. and not Sandwich Co. or Wrap Co. which they tout as lunch time favorites. I was looking over the menu and had decided on a Sandwich, I then preceded to notice how none of the high priced full meals came with any sides, you had to add a side. When we asked if we could order fries as our side with our full sandwich meals the wait staff, informed us they "were trying to be healthy and no longer served fries." lol. Ice Cream Co. does not bring to mind health when we think of it. We think indulgence, full cream, full condiments, french fries, fun, special occasion food. Too bad, we were looking forward to a lunch time treat of Sandwiches/ Wraps and fries. Ehhh ... and to our disappointment ....we sat their pondering if we wanted to eat at Ice Cream Co. and be satisfied with a pickle spear and a bit of Ice Cream and no fries ....the answer ultimately was no. Fruit or Sun Chips just wouldn't substitute. I will not be back for food / lunch, but I would consider coming back for ice cream one day. read more

I love their ice cream. I honestly truly do. I have been to this spot over 30 times in the past couple of years. The servings are great for the price and I definitely prefer it over Baskin Robbins and Cold Stone. The reason for the 3 stars....is because customer service can be slow and because they appear to be somewhat discriminatory at times. I only say this because I have taken many friends here of different races and colors on many different occasions and I do notice that treatment is different according to who I bring. More unfortunate is that I've also have had friends and friends of friends say the same thing. If it was not for this fact, I would have given it 5 stars. And one more weird, but funny story. Took my niece here once a few years back and she ended up sick and throwing up everywhere...literally the whole entire booth and surrounding area. Not one employee offered to help me clean the mess. I asked if they had any disinfectant sprays or sanitizing water and they did not. That sort of blew my mind. I've worked in similar industry before and it was a must to have at least one or the other...anyways, I got it cleaned and that was that, and continued to come when in town because like I said...the ice cream is really very good. read more
