Being from Wisconsin, I haven't had a place in Nebraska master their cheese curds....... Until now. I was so pleasantly surprised to find such a light crunch on the fried cheese curds with the perfected ranch dressing to pair with it. I felt like I was back home. The menu also has a lot of great options from pizza, to salads, to sandwiches. I will say, visiting a hockey themed bar was not on my bucket list however I'm so glad I ventured out. Most of the other sports bars around Omaha are more focused towards baseball or basketball for obvious reasons but this was a refreshing change. The waitstaff made sure our table was taken care of from the start of our visit to the end. I will say, they did a great job! We had two large tables and they made sure each individual got what they needed within a reasonable amount of time! I highly recommend if you're looking to try something new! read more

BEWARE!!!! VERY UNETHICAL!! They get at AUTOMATIC gratuity regardless of their service. Our waitress "Dona" was RUDE, and slow, and she expected us to help her with her job. When we got our bills, there was an automatic 23% gratuity !!! We talked to the manager and she stated that any table with 7 or lore people the gratuity was an automatic 23%. Our waitress was rude and still received $26.00 gratitude!!?? Gratitude is EARNED not GIVEN!!!! By law they are supposed to be transparent, and when we showed that to the manager, she asked " is the gratuity not on your bill before you paid it?? When we went to pay the bill and pay the gratuity we felt she deserved, we were told by the manager...that is stealing...you are not paying your full bill!!! Ice House is a perfectly fine sports bar with a pleasant vibe and reasonably good food. Unfortunately, they seem to have a pattern of running up your credit card total after you leave. I split a pizza with a co-worker and had a pop for lunch last week. My bill was $10.06 and I added a $3 tip for our server. The next day I saw my pending charge was $18.06 instead of $13.06. I thought maybe it would be corrected once the charge was no longer pending. After the charge posted, my $13.06 tab that included tax and tip was now $21.02. I checked with my co-worker and they did the same thing to him. If you're going to eat and drink at the Ice House, you'll probably enjoy yourself. My advise, however, is to pay with cash. Very disappointing that scamming customers seems to be a pattern. read more

It's your basic sports bar. We went on a very busy night with the March madness Nebraska game. The service was very slow, it seems the waitresses for the tables around us paid much more attention to their tables. We got our drink orders and appetizer taken quickly and drinks and came out promptly but didn't bring us any waters, but we didn't ask I suppose. After we got the appetizer someone else brought out, we didn't see the waitress for a good 20 min after that. Finally she came back and got our order and drink refills, and we asked for waters. Water and drinks came out fairly quick. Food did take a while but they were busy so no sweat. My food came out wrong and she never came back to ask how everything was. So I ended up eating the wrong food because I did not want to wait on her to come back, which was my choice and seemed to be the correct choice. Finally she came back around asked if we needed anything and we asked for water refill which came back fairly quickly, however usually water and the refills are a basic standard that we dont even need to ask. It was very busy so it happens, but it wasn't a fantastic experience. It's close by my house which is the only reason we would consider coming back, however there's plenty of places that are much better in the area. read more

After not going here for a couple years just because I travel a lot and I did try a couple other places closer to my home, I do realize this place is still one of the top places to go to watch football on a Sunday afternoon. Always find a seat, and the waitstaff know you'll probably be there awhile and are still nice. Trust me.... I tip well because I'm there for a few hours. Anyway.... To date.... Probably should almost be a 4 star review. Huge bar with lots of TV's for sure. We tried the thin crust cheese pizza and the regular crust. Surprisingly we preferred the regular crust. The pizza isn't anything out of this world it's just basic but good with a good tomato taste as well. Since we were eating so healthy (haha) decided to try the plate of bacon for an appetizer mostly because I've never seen a plate of bacon as an app before. It was okay. Honestly would pass next time though as I prefer my bacon crunch. This was mostly chewy but crisp on some ends but over crisp burnt taste. Probably a good thing I didn't love it! Nice patio with a few smaller TV's. look forward to sitting out there in some good weather. read more

Ice house has always been a favorite of mine since my college days in Omaha. I remember coming here on Tuesdays when everything was $2, and I mean everything. It was always such a fun evening come into the ice house especially since I lived 2 miles away and it was a easy drive home. I am fond of this area in general since I used to work at Southernland. My cousin used to work at Pizza Hut, and I remember many days trying to go up that hill in my 5 speed car. The ice house still has it and sometimes have string specials it's your typical string specials it's your typical bar food. We came after getting we came after getting pedicures it pretty nails. Overall we enjoyed our experience the drinks were good and the french fries were plentiful for my niece. This sports bar is still great to come watch a game or just have a nice cold beer! read more

We just now had lunch here.I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich and it was very good. My wife ordered the meatball sub sandwich. It came with very little marinara sauce and was way too dry. We asked the waitress to bring a side of marinara sauce which she did. We were charged $1.49 for the side of sauce. We complained to to our waitress about being charged for that because the sandwich was too dry to enjoy. She went to talk to the manager and came back and told us that the manager said there wasn't any thing she was going to do about it. The manager not caring to have a satisfied customer doesn't make me want to be in a hurry to return there anytime soon. Waitress was too distracted kissing and conversing with her boyfriend at the bar to remember half our drinks. Our food was not great. My reuben came out with ice cold meat, never even touched the grill, and our waitress forgot to bring our watered down chili cheese fries out as an appetizer so the rest of our order just sat in the window and got cold. 0/10. I stopped into Ice House for an afternoon during a Nebraska game and had a decent time. The restaurant is large so you have lots of options on seating: bar, high top tables, low tops and booths. I've been here twice, and the food is middle of the road, nothing to write home about, but decent. The staff is friendly, but service can be slow. You will probably wait about 5-10 minutes for your draft beer. The best redeeming quality is that each booth has it's own TV with remote at the table, so if you don't have a good view of the game you want to watch on the wall, you can watch it at your own table. I'd recommend for someone looking for a place with run and the mill bar food and a customizable TV at their table to watch a game they may not have access to if they don't have cable. read more

I had the Phili cheese sandwich and it was very good the other shared the meat lovers pizza and enjoyed it. It comes out in a nice pie pan that makes the crust perfectly crusty. So the server was very nice however, management is apparently seriously lacking in their abilities to update important information, online or on yelp. You are looking for a place to play pool or darts like I was this is not the location to go to unfortunately yelps claims that they have a pool table and dartboards and etc. but according to the server they've been gone for about three years management knows about this. I was so pleasantly surprised when we walked into Ice House because it is so close to where I live! It was a Saturday afternoon and pretty slow. When you walk in, there are plenty of TVs and projectors to watch all the games. If you sit down at the booths, they have personal TVs inside each booth on the wall. I thought that was a great touch. My husband and I ordered the Artichoke Chicken pizza. It comes out in a deeper dish and it was so cheesy and delicious. The crust was perfect. We got 16 wings to split. 8 were the wing flavor of the month the Spicy Hawaiian and the other 8 were the Spicy Garlic. I really liked the spicy garlic wings, but also enjoyed the flavor of the month. The service was awesome and the food was just as awesome. And although it is a sport bar it is pretty calm obvious there is music but it is not very loud and the TVs don't have sound. This is one of my favorite sports bars in town! Love the food here and the set up you get your own tv at booths so that is a plus! I usually get the wings, pizza , and fries some of the best bar food you will find. I think their wings are arguably the best in town. I visited Omaha a couple of weeks ago, and stopped in to catch up with a friend Friday night. It was pretty busy, and as the weather was getting nice, all the tables outside were full. She and I sat at the bar, and ordered double vodka sodas with lime. Our bartenders were nice and friendly, and would check in on us to ensure we had everything we needed. After talking for a while, I decided I needed to eat something. I'm gluten free, so I asked if the side of veggies and sweet potato fries were ok to eat. Our bartender double checked. She made sure I knew the fries were deep fried in the same oil as things that are breaded. I let her know that was okay (I'm not celiac), I just avoid it for general health. Anyway, the sides were really big - I was thinking it would be a snack, but it ended up basically being a meal. I went back to grab a drink with another friend Monday afternoon. There were only 5 or 6 other people spread out between the bar and booths. Super chill, and it was really easy to have a private conversation. The Ice House seems to be Northwest Omaha's favorite sports bar, watering hole, and restaurant in these parts, so my friend and I decided to come here. To celebrate what I had done here in Omaha / Lake Cunningham on a fateful day in October 2017, a 50km trail race during the day - with tired feet and achy muscles, we decided that this place would be a fine candidate or a post race dinner venue. Naturally, I ended up having one of their local brews just to take the edge off and to help celebrate 50 km on foot. It was a Sunday night when we arrived here at the Ice House. It was probably around 6:30 PM when we came in the door and we got set seated pretty much right away, so that was just awesome. We got a booth near the bar and we could hear a lot of cheering and screaming from nearby patrons, just because there was an NFL game playing on the TV screens. The only gripe that we have had here was that the service was pretty slow. While I have had some places where the service was just as slow, service here this night was moving at a snail pace and it was a little annoying. But I guess it was a Sunday night and it was how it is. It was cool to catch the game while we ate and chilled, but the wait was a little maddening. The overall experience here at the Ice House was okay at best and average at the same time, while being friendly at the same time. Can't really blame them, since it was a Sunday evening, but then again. The food was pretty good and the place was kind of hopping. The Ice House is located at 10920 Emmitt Street here in the northwest corner of Omaha, Nebraska. They accept major credit cards, so that's always a plus for me. Cash is also king here as well. This place is part of a small shopping center, so it was nice to walk around a bit afterwards before heading back to the hotel. The prices here are kind of standard to any bar and grill restaurant may find anywhere across the country, where the burgers go for $10 and the specialities can get as high as $15. I did have alcohol here and that was a standard $6 or so. The parking options here are boundless, as they are located in a strip mall. Plenty of parking to choose from, although. It would be wise to get here early to get prime parking spots. For the most part though, the experience was mildly pleasant. It was a chill time for the body to relax and me doing something other than putting on miles on my feet. Pretty sure that I ordered a burger or some sort, which turned out to be pretty seductive and elicit. It was borderline good to above average and that was pretty good, although it was about $10 or so. Had a beer from their local selection, which was definitely a compliment to any burger and fries combination. My friend And I sat, ate, and talked the evening away. We probably spent about an hour and half before leaving, after paying. And so, if you feel like coming here for a burger, fries, and a local brew, you should. I feel like this place is a popular choice among the local folks, but I can't be sure. Sure, I can be a great place on the weekend for college and NFL football. Gather your buddies and hang out here for food and fun while watching the game. I may have came at a b off time, so I would give them a benefit of a doubt. Recommended if you are in the area, but still an average time, but the food is good. 3.5 stars for the overall experience. 3.0 stars for the price. 4.0 stars for the food, 2.5 stars for the service. I found myself here again to watch the NBA Playoffs amongst friends. It's still the same large sports bar that's a good spot to watch a game or four. While I enjoyed the $2 Tuesday beer specials, the food was not up to par. Mainly because the menu is misleading. I ordered the guacamole burger. The menu states "Our 1/2 pound beef patties are never frozen." My burger was obviously preformed and a bit rubbery even when ordered "pink." No pink, mostly a little gray. All the hallmarks of a frozen patty. It also states there is "homemade guacamole" on said burger I ordered. The guac on my burger was definitely squeezed out of a tube. Was it possibly made in a big batch right there in house? Perhaps, but it was more in line with what you'd expect from a food distro truck than resembling what comes to mind when you think "homemade guacamole." Add in some so-so frozen/fried onion rings and for $10 it wasn't even a good deal. If in fact the burger patties aren't frozen and the guac is made fresh, well, it's very subpar. I have ate here many of times but it has been over a couple years since I have been. We went to watch a couple of football games. I started off with a house salad which was very tasty. Then I ordered some beef nachos which wasn't to bad. I just don't like when the chips get soggy. I was able to enjoy some keno. And later on I ordered some boneless wings they were good. I also had to have a few cocktails. My only problem they don't have coke products so I ordered a rum and coke. And it just taste funny/different later found out it was Pepsi. I have to admit, I go to Ice House for 2 things, their twice baked wings and the pitcher of Margaritas. Yum Yum Yummy to the tummy! Sometimes the service can be a bit slow and several times I had to ask the server for silverware, napkins and plates, but I think that is a training issue and maybe they have a high turnover. They made sure I paid for my bill and tipped them (btw gave them a 30% tip) and THEN decided to take away my drinks for a "puke" smell in the bathroom. Once upon a time, the Ice House was cutting edge for sports bars in Omaha. Between this location and the (now-defunct) La Vista site, having individual televisions in each booth was a big draw. A friend and I made it a rule to meet up on Wednesday evenings to watch some hockey, as the locale carried the NHL cable package and many games were available. Sadly, time has seen the Ice House worn a bit thin. Once a front-runner, now an also-ran in the realm of metro area sports bars. There are daily specials and the standard offerings, along with some pretty decent pizza (half price on Wednesdays). But just as the novelty has lost its shine, so has the service. My recent visits here have been during times when the venue was not busy, but the wait staff seems to be a bit more interested in playing with their phones than actually serving customers. read more

When it was a matter of convenience I would end up here for happy hour every once and a while, but it's really a 'dude hangout'. For lack of a better term. Ice House is a place I have inevitably ended up periodically throughout the years. I even attended a Vanilla Ice concert here in the parking lot in 2006 (try and restrain your envy). The sports bar environment appeals to a lot of folks, but I think the food is below average. On a recent visit I had to ask for water FOUR times and on 2 of the specialty drinks we attempted to order they were out of the necessary liquor. Not sure how that happens. read more
