The texture was still very soft and chewy, not too sweet, and the portion of the boba was generous!! The black milk tea was strong and silky, I changed the sweetness to 75% and it was perfect. The ambiance is dark, dimly lit, lots of pandas (paintings and decor) everywhere. It was really quiet when I visited, I saw a couple students working on homework. Although the meat looks like it was freshly cut, I found it to be quite tough. I also was not really a fan of the bra, but I know the broth is also up to personal taste. For myself personally, I think the one at Dah Bao is better, and I've had much better in the Bay Area and outside of the bay. That being said, we both really enjoyed the chicken and rice. It was such a nostalgic taste, and we felt like the serving size was great. I like that they choose to make their ice cream in store rather than buying it in bulk or ordering it from a factory. If you are looking for a quick ice cream treat, I would 100% reccommend checking this place out! Everyday of the week, they have some sort of deal or happy hour sale going on which is worth it to schedule into your day. They have many different flavors and toppings and they do allow sampling! For those who cannot have dairy, they also have dairy free options which is why this place is a go to for large groups or people new to Davis! There are options for everyone. One thing to note, they do not have seating inside and oftentimes they have long lines. But they do have seating right outside under street lights. On busy days, staff are alwasy working as fast as they can and they are always happy to help. The best way to avoid the lines? Go before meals or go earlier in the day :) after dinner is always the busiest time. In the spring, you can also submit a flavor you'd like them to make and if it makes it into the running, it will enter the month of bracketology where visitors try new flavors created and the favorite will be added to the menu for a while.
