Visiting from out of town and came across Icekrimski Cafe which was attached to the Varsity movie theatre. Small establishment which only fit a few patrons at a time inside. We arrived when most of the selections were almost done but the flavors we did order were good. We were also offered complimentary wafer cookie to accompany our gelato.
Attached to the Varsity Theatre, Icekrimski Cafe is an old haunt of my sweet tooth. A regular gelato runs you about $7 now. You can choose up to 2 flavors for the small or regular size cup, or 3 flavors in the biggest size. They had about 8 gelatos and 4 sorbetto flavors: dark chocolate, vanilla bean, stracciatella, coconut macadamia, green tea, creme brulee, cookie dough, Bavarian mint, strawberry, mango, lemon, and raspberry. This visit I got the Bavarian Mint and Dark Chocolate. They do offer free samples to try before committing (up to 3). The mint totally reminded me of Andes candy, loved it and the chocolate was rich too. Love the little wafer they always use to top it off. I also saw they did have waffle cones and even to-go pint containers!
I always have to stop by and grab some dessert after dinner. I love gelato so I had to go here. It has been over a decade since the last time I've been here so I don't remember too much. I was only able to have 2 samples which is understandable. I tried the Cherry and the Coppa Mista. I didn't prefer the cherry so I ended up getting 2 flavors of the coppa Mista and the Mango sorbet. Coppa mista, which the Employee described it as, an Almond croissant. which had features of the taste. Both Flavors weren't as bad! I shouldn't have added both flavors together which is my bad (Milk and fruit sorbet.) From these 2 flavors I thought they were a bit too sweet for my taste buds especially the sorbet. Mango flavor was present but it was just too sweet for my liking. The Coppa Mista did taste like an almond croissant but very subtle. Honestly, If they never told me I would have had not noticed or picked up on it. No bathroom in the small gelato shop. No seating inside but there are many seating in downtown Davis. Price are above average for Gelato and especially during these times. Verdict Overall, It's not a bad spot for dessert / Gelato. I'd go here again to try another flavor. I only tried 3 out of 8-12 flavors? Give it a try!

We always go to the other local ice cream parlor but I decided to try this place. Sooo much better flavor! We had the honey lavender with pistachio. It was so good my husband who usually doesn't order his own decided to get the Bavarian Mint. We will definitely come here next time we're in Davis!
I am such a huge fan of Icekrimski. It is the most adorable little gelato shop that has never failed to make a good day even better. The workers are consistently so sweet, they let you try any flavor you'd like, and I've found they are super helpful if you have questions about flavor preferences, especially in recommending flavor pairings. The flavors change weekly, but the Bavarian mint is one of my absolute favorites, as well as the classic dark chocolate. The gelato always comes with a little wafer as all good gelato should, and of soured there are the neon little gelato spoons that tie the whole experience together. They are also right next door to the Varsity theater - another staple, with a window into the theatre's lobby to order from. I was surprised but by no means disappointed that gelato makes for a wonderful pairing with a good movie! I highly recommend, without a doubt my favorite frozen dessert in Davis :)

Inside is pretty small and there's no places inside to eat your dessert. I got a regular sized mango and strawberry sorbetto. There were strawberry pieces and it tasted light and fresh. Icekrimski was hard to locate as the sign outside reads Gelato Classico. This gelato spot is very familiar as we have a few in the Bay Area. Since we were taking a walk around the Arboretum in a hot afternoon, I decided to grab some gelato on the way. Due to COVID, flavors were limited and I didn't find the coppa mista flavor I was looking for. I ended up going with raspberry sorbet and honey lavender. The honey lavender has been a long time favorite and I highly recommend it! The lightly sweet gelato and sorbet was a perfect treat in downtown.
Honestly it's so hard to find a decent gelato place back in the bay! This is definitely one of the places I think of going to when I'm having a sweet tooth. Also would like to point out that this little spot is easy to miss because of how small it is. It is right in between the UC Davis apparel store and the Varsity movie theatre. Fun fact: the spot has this door in the wall that connects the two businesses - if you've ever seen the movie Caroline, it almost reminds me of that! My three go-to flavors here: 1. Honey Lavender If you know me, I LOVE lavender. The honey definitely compliments the floral taste well and it isn't too overpowering. I'm very particular about my lavender treats, and this place always gets it right. 2. Cappuccino Chip This flavor is for all of my sweet coffee drinkers! It's a rich, chocolate taste with the tiniest cappuccino chips mixed in. It's going to be much more on the sweet side, so if you're looking for a stronger coffee taste, I would recommend the Espresso flavor that they offer instead. 3. Vanilla Bean Honestly, vanilla bean will always be a timeless, classic flavor. You can never go wrong with this one and it pairs nicely with so many kinds of flavors ! The gelato itself is THICK as it should be and the different flavors that they offer are what set the bar for me. I usually get a child's cup and it's cool how they will still allow you to get two flavors for you to try out! I also want to mention their amazing customer service! I always feel welcomed when I come in for a treat. This is definitely one of the gems in Davis. I have been coming here since my first year at davis - and have been getting it a lot more recently. I will most likely be back here soon. update: shout out to Riley, who has AMAZING service. Definitely made my last visit a pleasant one and even offered to take a picture of my friends and I outside with our gelato!
We stopped for gelato after dinner this week - haven't been here in ages but was pleased to see all the different flavors and the quality here is just as I remembered. I got the raspberry sorbet. My husband and son loved the Coppa Mista. My daughter enjoyed cookies and cream. Masking is required, but they will give you a mask if you don't have one. Super safe and friendly service. Thanks for the ice cream!
Nice location downtown where everyone has a lot within walking distance. Finally got to stop by this little location that two a few doors down from the tea shop I was hanging out in. Most pleasant person helping me select from a some great choices. Got the large...because it's more chocolate. Smooth and so tasty. Plenty of parking but as mentioned, good walking around also.
Icekrimski is Davis' best kept secret! I wandered in here one day wanting a sweet treat and tried a couple of the flavors and was blown away by how delicious they all were! Every flavor was delicious in its own way and it made it so hard to pick! Luckily, most of the cup sizes allow you to atleast pick two flavors which makes it worthwhile! This is a delicious place to get gelato in town and we drive from out of town when we are really craving it! read more

Favorite dessert place. Fresh flavors, strong and not too sweet. Good variety, friendly workers. Wish they had earlier hours especially during the summer for a mid-afternoon snack, but oh well. read more

Not a large variety of flavors but the flavors they do have are really good. The staff was friendly as well. Only downside is that the price is on the higher side. read more

I have lived in Davis for 2 years now and had no idea this place existed. It's tucked away right next to the Varsity theater in downtown. The only reason I spotted it is because they're one of the dessert places in Davis open a little later (9:30pm). I got the matcha and the Stracciatella. As one of *those people* who actually loves plain old vanilla ice cream, the stracciatella was amazing because the chocolate chips were dispersed in a way that added bursts of rich chocolate flavor, but didn't overwhelm the vanilla at the same time. I actually highly recommend it. The matcha was good as well (although personally I could have gone for a stronger matcha flavor, this is a good level for someone getting matcha for the first time). The employee was friendly and offered me a mask when I came in. They do still require masks in store but will do flavor tastings anyway. If you forget yours, they have plenty handy and will give you one. read more

*** Strawberry Lovers Review *** Put down the pink 31-Flavors plastic spoon and treat yourself to one of the dessert gems of Davis. Winter or Summer, gelato and sorbetto hit the spot. Located in the same building as the historical Varsity Theatre, if you're not a popcorn person, this can be the perfect treat and you don't have to sneak it in under your coat or in your purse. Their flavors rotate so if you have a favorite, you might want to call in advance. My wife crosses her fingers every time, hoping tiramisu is on the daily menu. But, the classics are always available. Dark chocolate, vanilla bean, cookie dough, and of course, strawberry. Strawberry Fresca Gelato (Grade A+): It comes in 3 different sizes, but I don't even bother with the child's size any longer. I appreciate they don't weight the servings -- they just scoop and whatever you get, you get. And usually, it's a very generous portion. You can taste the fresh strawberries in every spoonful. It's denser than ice cream and the flavors are much more intense than the American cold treat. If you like strawberries, this Italian dessert will not disappoint. Although gelato has a higher sugar content than ice cream, it's not at all overly sweet or overpowering. Don't forget the little wafer wedge cookie. It perfectly compliments the flavors of the strawberry gelato. Plus, it tastes better than the spoon! Would I Come Back Test? Yes, Icekrimski is on our regular dessert rotation. Icekrimski Cafe features some sweet Gelato! It's located right next to the varsity theatre. They've got close to 20 flavors, including some italian classics such as tiramisu, cappucino chip, pistachio, and stracciatella among others. They also offer fruit flavors and some american classics such as cookie dough. Samples are allowed and encouraged! Be sure to try a few flavors to see what you like. I ordered the cookie dough and cappucino flavors in a child size (they let you choose two flavors). Not the best gelato I've ever had but the taste is good. Could be creamier but overall was satisfied after having a spicy dinner. The cookie dough had a good ratio of ice cream to dough, perfect sweetness. The girl working here tonight was super friendly and as a former ice cream shop worker I appreciate the good service! Food: 4/5 Value: 3.5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Overall: 4/5 read more

Gelato here is soooooo gooooood!!!! Everything is great! Fresh ginger is a must! Other great flavors that we tried were dark chocolate, espresso, green tea, honey lavender. Child size $4 gives you 2 scoops and it's plenty. Extra star for the friendly employee :) read more

I was in the area and decided to stop by for dessert before heading back towards Sacramento. Did a quick Yelp search and ended up stopping by around 9pm. It's a small gelato shop so it can get crowded quickly. A friend and I sampled a bunch of flavors - but I'm glad the worker was patient and helpful. There's literally so many to choose from; it was a difficult decision! I ended up going with the Children's size cup with Coppa Mista and Honey Lavender flavors for $4. It also came with a cute, triangular cookie which is definitely great for pictures! The flavors complimented each other well and it was actually really rich, and a heavier dessert than I anticipated. So I'm glad I went with the Children's size. They have great flavors and I know their flavors change every so often, so I definitely recommend swinging by for a good, small dessert on a hot day or any day! read more

I've been a student at Davis for awhile now and I don't know why I never tried this place until my last year here!!! It's the cutest little shop next to Varsity theater and they have the most delicious gelato! My favorite flavor is tiramisu so if you love tiramisu as much as I do, it's definitely worth trying. I love that you can do half/half for any of the sizes! I usually pair the tiramisu with either cookies & cream, stracciatella (cookie dough), or chocolate chip. They also give you a wafer cookie along with your gelato and it's probably one of the best wafers I've ever had! Don't hesitate to ask to try any of the flavors! I probably sample an average of 3 or 4 flavors every time I go :P * No longer just cash, credit accepted now too. read more

Small little shop located on the left of the movie theater. Blink and you might miss it. My boyfriend and I were looking for dessert after eating at Dumpling House for dinner and we decided to try Icekrimski because we never really have gelato. We entered the small shop and two women were ordering ahead of us. There was just one employee working at the time so we waited a couple minutes (the ladies were so indecisive). The shop was rather warm for a gelato shop, I expected it to be cool, especially since it was about 90 degrees outside. It smelled like popcorn inside since it's next to the theater, which was kinda off-putting. I also noticed some flavors were pretty empty.. seems like for a Saturday evening they should have a greater stock. Some of the flavors looked like they were melting too, which was odd. When it was our turn we sampled a few flavors and the employee told us a little about each flavor. He said we could even get half of one flavor and half of another. My boyfriend liked the Coppa Mista and I liked the Carmello Chocolate Crunch so we got a child size with half of each. The employee said coppa mista means "mixed cup", so it was a combination of chocolate, vanilla, pistachio and almond. He said it tastes like an almond croissant, and it did! My boyfriend likes almond croissants so he enjoyed it. I'm not typically a chocolate girl, but I liked how the carmello chocolate crunch had little balls of crunchy chocolate (it was an airy crunch, like maybe they were rice?). If there was a caramel flavor, I probably would've gotten that. I was kinda surprised they didn't have typical flavors like pistachio, but maybe they switch them up. I'm not sure. Each gelato comes with a cookie/wafer/crisp on top which was very tasty. Adds some nice texture. It's very light and you can see the layers. The child size to share was plenty. Gelato is pretty rich so you don't need much. I can't imagine eating a small by myself. Overall, the gelato was enjoyable. I don't have gelato often so I don't really have anything to compare it with, but the employee seemed knowledgeable and he was friendly. If you pay with cash you get a discount (20 cents off if I remember correctly). read more

This is an amazingly delicious gelato shop! If you've never had gelato, as the sign on their counter will inform you, "gelato contains 20% air, while ice cream can contain up to 80% air." So this is the perfect creamy treat for those who love rich desserts and eating them with the tiniest of plastic spoons. It's an incredibly small shop, but they have several flavors to choose from, along with an assortment of bulk candy. The candy seems like the perfect treat to accompany you on a movie at the Varsity theater next door. It's absolutely adorable that they have a window that opens into the movie theater lobby. You can order gelato or candy and bring it into the theater! So fun! A child's size cup is $4 and is the perfect size if you're not feeling too hungry. You can choose up to two flavors with every size and three flavors if you pick the large. The sign also says 3 free samples per person. I'm not sure how strictly they follow that rule, but I did only sample 3: Double Espresso Bean (wonderful coffee flavor), S'mores (delicious and had lots of marshmallow), and Chocolate Hazelnut (didn't taste like Nutella, as I was expecting, just chocolate). I settled on Black Cherry and Vanilla (based on trying my husband's samples), and I loved that combo! He chose the Mango sorbetto (intensely fabulous mango flavor) and Vanilla. They put a waffle cone triangle on top of your gelato, which is a beautiful and crunchy touch, and the employee wasn't skimpy with filling the cup either! There's one table inside the shop and two tables and benches outdoors. Remember, it's really tiny inside and feels very crowded if more than 4 people are ordering. But go sit outside; it's lovely being in the heart of downtown and enjoying the hustle and bustle and people watching opportunities. Cant wait to come back all summer long! read more
A cute joint located near the movie theater. They have both gelato and sorbetto selections, flavors are pretty generic but the taste is very creamy and not too pricy for the portion. I tried the dark chocolate and ginger gelato~ (kids size $4). Boy it was a pretty decent size for $4, you can get 1-2 flavor choices with the smallest size, which I love. A lot of other ice cream joints I've been don't allow that. The dark chocolate was so decadent and creamy, no complaints it was just a heaven in my mouth. The ginger had a nice crunchy texture with a good amount of ginger flavor, personally I wish it was more gingery. My only complaint is that the cash register wasn't very enthusiastic, I wish he was a bit more welcoming and offered samples. Overall, one of the best and affordable gelato places in downtown Davis, can't wait to try more flavors~ read more
A cute little gelato shop in the heart of downtown Davis! It's connected to the side of the Davis Varsity Theater. It must not get too busy here because the guy who served us walked over from the theater side. They don't really have much signage outside besides a frosted logo on the door, so I think Icekrimski can be easily missed by people driving by. The place smells like popcorn, because of the theater, of course. There are plenty of gelato options, from sweet to fruity. I went with the Bavarian mint. Chocolatey and minty, yum! They have 4 different cup sizes. They also have candy jars with different types of candy that line the walls. And at the register, they have a pitcher of cold water and tiny cups to wash down your gelato after :) The gelato cups come with a waffle cookie. It was flaky and a perfect touch to the creamy gelato! If I'm ever in the mood for gelato in downtown Davis, I'm coming straight here! read more

Today was my fourth time here :) I love coming to this place occasionally when I bring my friend's here for their first time as a mini-treat! I'm a pretty adventurous person when it comes to food and love trying new and unique flavors. I've been to a few other gelato places such as Marco Polo(best homemade fruit flavors!) & Holy Gelato in SF and I like this gelato shop almost just as much :) FOOD: the gelato flavors here are more Italian based (it IS Italian sorbet haha) with flavors such as stracciatella (chocolate chips), pistachio just to name a few. They also have flavors such as green tea, cookies and cream, tiramisu, etc. The 4 times, I've been here, I have gotten half-half of 2 different flavors in child size $3.95 which is the perfect amount of gelato for one sitting. I love how all the flavors I've tried are rich and dense and not overly sweet. Also LOVE the waffle biscuit it comes with! Adds a perfect crunch to the softness. Water is also provided! And they also sell candy by 1/4lb, 1/2lb and 1lb! SERVICE: decent service. Not much to say haha AMBIANCE: Inside is really small with max capacity about 10 people, but there are outdoor seats. Overall, this is my go-to place for gelato in Davis :) The next time I stop by will probably be when I bring another friend here for their first time haha. read more
