Solid choice to satisfy a craving without having to drive into Chinatown and prices are actually pretty decent for the serving size. It wasn't amazing wow but good. Between the black garlic and the creamy tonkotsu you could actually taste the broth differences which is great. They both were very rich and flavorful, I love the topping options that already come with the bowls. Noodle texture was good, nice chew. I do prefer the wavy noodles over the skinny ones though. I was a little nervous going in, but everything turned out better than I expected. I had their signature ichi roll and shoyu ramen. Which feels like the safe option, but as a girly who doesn't usually like sushi or trying new things, I enjoyed it. What really made the experience stand out was the service. Ordered take out last night from Ichi Ramen via DoorDash. It was a buy one, get one free deal. Arrived in a timely manner. Ramen was just okay, flavor was much better after adding spice to it. Service can be a hit and miss. Ambiance is small and quaint. We haven't been here in ages and the food is still just as good. I ordered the vegetarian ramen bowl but I do the fried broccoli instead of tofu. My boyfriend got the black garlic bowl and we ordered two sides of the crispy rice tuna. They honestly have the best crispy rice tuna we have eaten. The rice is super crispy, the tuna melts in your mouth with the sauce and the jalapeño gives it a nice kick. I would just order the fried broccoli and eat it with the sarachi all by itself. The broth for my dish was okay. I did addd the Karachi and some shoyu sauce to give it a little more kick. My boyfriend said his bowl was delicious and we thought his sliced pork was missing but it happened to be under his noodles. Food was good. Sadly the service was not. Felt highly disappointed on one of the waiters. We were seated in the back of the restaurant and I ended up asking my server if we can sit a little bit in the front due to it being cold service said he had no problem and told me you can sit at any table you want then I don't know who he was one workers told me to sit on a table right in front of him, which was kind of weird. We've always enjoyed the food and service at this location....until today. I received an Uber Eats gift card for the holidays. I was taking advantage of the buy one, get one offer on their Tonkatsu Ramen. I placed the order on the Uber Eats app. When I received the message that my order was ready, I proceeded to the counter. I was asked for an order number. There was no order number. I showed her the phone screen to confirm the order had been placed and was ready and she was flustered. She didn't ask my name which would have clarified everything. The order was actually sitting right in front of her. I asked for a garlic oil for the soup and I got told I had to pay for it. That's like walking into a Burger King and being charged for ketchup packets. BOGO or not this is a sure fire way to turn off your loyal customers. My 1st time here, and my last. I ordered spicy tuna roll and chicken ramen. The rolls were really tiny but the flavor was good and I asked for low sodium soy sauce and the server told me they don't ever have low sodium soy sauce. The salad, which was free with the ramen and tuna, was lettuce that didn't taste clean and some dressing drowning in what tasted like store bought balsamic. Went to Ichi Ramen on a last-minute whim and WOW..we do not regret it one bit! The food was absolutely amazing and bursting with flavor. We were seated right away and the service was incredibly fast, which made the whole experience even better. We started with the popcorn shrimp which was crispy, perfectly cooked, and topped with a delicious sauce that added just the right kick. The curry ramen was hands-down the star of the night. Ordering through their online portal was easy and checkout was smooth. The menu is straightforward and easy to navigate. I do recommend ordering the ramen mild the chili flavor really enhances the dish without overpowering it. I enjoyed the broth quite a bit. I ordered the chicken ramen, and while it wasn't terrible, the flavor of the chicken just wasn't for me. That said, the noodles and broth were tasty, very filling, and I really enjoyed the Crunchy Roll. Customer service was a bit lacking, but since this was a takeout order, it wasn't a big issue. Always our go-to Ramen, been coming for years. You can really taste the quality in all the ingresidents. Tried the yakitori for the 1st time and WOW! That is not your ordinary BBQ on a stick. Its so soft (chicken thighs) and has a thin layer of crisp that's just so easy to bite. It almost pops with flavor as you bite. The sauce compliments the entire experience so well. I also was not aware that shoyu Ramen came with 2 slices of I think it was pork? When I read the description it said vegetable broth so I assumed that it was a vegetarian ramen. One of the things I enjoyed were the noodles, they were a nice consistency, thick enough to feel like you are eating something and very filling. A little weird, but cool. A deal is always nice. When it arrived, it was pale white. It looked like a hot bowl of milk. And, it tasted like a hot bowl of milk too! Incredibly unappetizing. No flavor and no spices. I asked if that is how they typically prepare their tonkotsu and they stated yes. Furthermore, it was rated as one of their top ordered items. We looked at the menu and we were going to order when we saw that they had placed on the menu a combination special photo of the ramen bowl, pot stickers, sushi role and salad , so we all ordered it. Well, we talked to the manager and told him we would not pay the extras because it was fake advertising. After much argument on his part, he did agree to give us a discount and we took it. I just read other reviews and I guess an 18% gratuity is automatic!? Hells to the nahh. The food came out pretty quickly and all of the staff were fine, however, the tempura was rushed. This is the first time I've ever had tempura that wasn't cooked all the way. The carrots were still hard and crunchy! Their ramen was okay. Their karaage was good. Their rolls were meh. If you have more than 5 people, idk what your seating situation would look like, you'd all have to be cramped in a booth or at a picnic style table or wait til two tables are free so they can push them together. Not really ideal for larger parties, esp since they don't take reservations- we called and asked prior to going. We sat at the picnic style table and they put a chair on the end for the 5th person.
