Visiting Las Vegas - or more specifically, family (mom) - you can put money down that we'll end up out to eat. On my most recent visit, we ended up at Zen Curry Dining. There's parking. Lots. And free. I mention this probably because I live in LA and paid parking is the norm. Just get excited if a place validates or on Sundays when parking is gratis. That's in most places, not all. Anyway ... Walked in and it's packed. Place is good for large groups. Probably best to call ahead though so seating can be arranged eliminating a wait for tables to clear if when they get busy. The service was pretty good. As it was busy, the servers had a flow going - going in and out of the kitchen taking care of the guests both on the way in and out of the BOH. As for the food - see pics. Most were cooked well but as you can see, some were a little overdone. The Katsu wasn't too dry - but would have loved it had it been a little more tender and moist. Overall, it was a good experience taste wise. It was quite a bit of of food - had to take some to go. Heated up and was still good. Never the same as when it's freshly made but still good enough. I'd go back. Close to where I stay, easy parking and good food.

We arrived about 10 minutes after they opened. The restaurant was clean and bright. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I went with the mini curry bowl, which was perfect and added a side. The curry had a slight spice but wasn't overpowering. The rice had good texture. The croquette was nice and crispy but most items lacked salt to balance. The Thai ice tea was refreshing. Their honey toast was nice but not as caramelized as I wanted. The chicken katsu was the winner. My companion had the ramen and found the pork to be mostly fat but our waitress was wonderful and rectified it by offering the katsu.

This curry house has a strong following off its simple menu of curry! There's options to beef up the meal where you can add veggies, proteins, etc. I appreciate the traditional atmosphere, and the server was very friendly and fast. I got the katsu with veggies, and it tasted very comforting. Great spot for a warm meal during the wintertime.

Well first let me talk about that wonderful woman, Janine. I think she goes by Jay, wow is the best response. She was attentive, gracious, & sweet. Our service was the best, as usual when we eat there. Food is always good. The food always tastes just right. For the portion of my ramen is spot on . The karaage chicken and that spicy mayo!! Yum! One thing I really enjoy when we dine is the music they play. It is nice to hear some of the not oldies that put in that so I wanna eat and relax mood. I am very grateful that I am here able to just enjoy the finer things in life like this place, these wonderful people! Thank you Jay, (Janine).

Love this place!! I'm surprised this place is not busy!! If I recall, I think i've been here one time, while back, once upon a time. I don't think the menu was the same, but my bestie kase brought me here!!! She introduced me to some gel shots mixed Berry. I never had anything like this before!!! They serve me in some champagne glass. So awesome!!! I think I'm gonna come here often. It's in my neighborhood anyways!!

Food Was Good. Service was nice. Jade was awesome. Calm vibe. Will definitely come back

Came here for the first time with my best friend and it did not disappoint. It wasn't very busy when we came in but became busy as we sat down during dinner time. Was pretty quiet place with families and can definitely talk and catch up. The staff seemed very busy with customers and only one waitress and one bus person. Seemed in a hurry to serve us and get us out there. The food was amazing and bursting with flavor. I am not good with spicy so I ordered the lowest. The appetizers were great and the main course was a big portion and took left overs home. I will definitely be coming back and trying more food items. Only reason I am doing four stars is the staff could be friendlier.

Drove pass this place on our way to a TBall game and figured why not once the game finished. We love trying new/different places especially outside of our neighborhood. Ample parking shared with several other businesses, we got there a bit after opening so it was fairly early. When we walked in, we were greeted and were told we could sit anywhere. Our server brought over water without us having to ask and she gave us a few minutes to decide on our selections. Our order was Katsudon (2pork cutlets donburi style), tonkatsu ramen, mini curry bowl (mini rice bowl with curry sauce), karaage chicken and gyoza. Everything came out fresh and hot and the curry on point, exactly the taste I was hoping for and the chicken crunchy on the outside, tender and moist on the inside. The pork cutlets in the Katsudon was a bigger portion than what was expected and the cutlets were thick and juicy. Tonkatsu ramen was delicious as well, the only thing we didn't like about it was the bamboo shoots (personally I'm not a bamboo shoot fan) and now I know next time I can ask to not have it, which is great because they accommodate as requested when possible. Price wise, affordable and won't put a huge dent in your wallet. Our total bill after taxes and before tip was $46.55, which also included 2 cokes (soda is in a can, no fountain drinks). 9/10 place and will visit again, there were other items we wanted to try but didn't want to overdo it on our 1st visit. While we were there, they have several pick up orders and a few other patrons but it was a bit early so I was able to get a few pics of inside the restaurant.

Beef bowl, I forgot what it's called on the menu but the beef's a little sweet and soooo tender

We love all the Zens but this one serves curry ramen and it's DELICIOUS! The noodles are the perfect amount of chewy and soft, it's become a weekly meal now. All the food is delicious here and the service is always 10/10! The restaurant is spotless and has a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely check them out!

Zen Curry Dining is a Curry and Ramen full service restaurant with a location in North Las Vegas. The main dig is the curry that is made from vegetables, lots of spices called garam masala and then you add as many toppings as you like. They also offer a variety of ramens, appetizers like fried octopus balls, Japanese beer, and Saki. They offer traditional seating and seating at a small bar by the entrance. I tried a medium sized with chicken katsu (fried chicken), potato croquet, and vegetables with #7 heat out of 10 (30 cents extra). For me #7 is plenty hot but not too hot. I thought the curry was rich and flavorful. The rice was perfect and really fresh tasting. The chicken by it's self tonight lacked flavor and seasoning and also was slightly over cooked and dry. The croquette was fried nicely and was interesting and good. The vegetables seemed like a stewy mix of frozen and fresh that were ok. The Medium size might be large to most people. I had extra leftover but not enough for two meals. My husband tried a medium sized curry #8 heat (35 cents for #8 heat) with sausage, spam, rice, and an egg. The egg was almost heard and came out unseasoned. We were surprised that they fried the spam. They give you spoons to eat your meal here. I thought my meal was easier to eat with a fork. My husband got up to get forks for us and he also got the salt and pepper off the counter for his egg. 3 stars is a positive review on Yelp and translates to A-OK

A go to spot for me! The restaurant is always so clean and the staff is very friendly and super attentive with your service. I got the pork katsu curry spicy level 3 with cheese and a side of red radish. The pork katsu is very crispy and the curry is so flavorful! It definitely has a kick of spice, so I enjoy the cheese to cool it down a bit with the duo of the red radish which offers a nice crunch!

Is the curry sauce vegan or vegetarian?

I spoke at length with the owner of the Las Vegas locations, and the sauce is definitely vegetarian. There is a small amount of a milk ingredient in one of the spice powders they use in the curry sauce.

    Any shabu shabu meat?

No. Not that I know of, just curry and ramen.

Since I live on the north side, I figured I'd look for somewhere closer that has chicken katsu curry and Tokyo Cafe popped up. It's only about 2 miles from me so I decided to give it a try! I ordered the chicken katsu curry at spice level 3. My first few bites were really good and initially I thought it tasted just as good as Curry Ya. The katsu was crispy, the portion was generous and the curry had a nice flavor. But about halfway through my meal, I felt like the taste didn't quite hold up for me. It was still good, just not as good as Curry Ya like I originally thought. Maybe it was cuz I was getting uncomfortably warm inside the restaurant and it was affecting how much I was enjoying my food. LOL! The cashier was really nice and patient with me since it was my first time there and I had a couple of questions while ordering. The place was also surprisingly busy for a Wednesday with people dining in and plenty of takeout orders. My biggest issue was how warm it felt inside. I know it's summertime in Vegas but it honestly felt like the AC wasn't keeping up. They had ceiling fans going but I was still pretty hot while eating which definitely took away from the experience. Overall, the food was still good and I'd order the chicken katsu curry again especially since Tokyo Cafe is only about 2 miles from me. Next time though, I'll definitely get it to go. It's nice having a nearby option when I don't feel like driving all the way to Spring Mountain and dealing with parking and seating at Cheongdam Food Hall.

After reading the reviews, I ordred online for pick up later in the day. To find the somewhat hidden gem, as you go up Lake Mead from Buffalo, turn into the driveway immediately after Cafe Rio. This brings you to their parking lot. The entrance is in a walkway between the buildings on the opposite side of the entrance. There is a large sign at the entrance. It's a small place where you can eat in. When they first styarted it was all take out but now you can enjoy your bento box there in their small dining area. The pleasant woman got my bento, put it in a shopping bag along with chopsticks, a wrapped moist towelette, a regular napkin, and a plastic fork. Everything you need. I drove home and opened my dinner. Because this is a distance from where I live, the pork belly slices were only lukewarm warm but it didn't detract from their good flavor. The meat ss put on a bed of rice. On the side of the box are some goodies you get with a bento box. There was a small amount of macaroni salad, some greens, and kimchi. Make sure to pick up a pastry for dessert. The dorayaki was a perfect ending to this meal. The box was a perfect size and everything was very tasty. I wish there was a bit more macaroni salad and kimchi. It was such a pleasure to have a bento much like those I used to get in Little Tokyo when I was in LA. Now that I know whwerme the place is, I will go back. Depending on my whim for the day will determine whether I bring it home or eat it there. I am so glad I found this spot.

We originally tried this restaurant because my neighbor who used to live in Thailand half the year recommended this restaurant to us. It's not a fancy place but is cozy with lots on booths to sit in. They also have music videos playing on the big TVs on the wall. Dishes are ordered in heat levels from 1-10. After a few visits I find inconsistency with some of the dishes so dining here can be a bit hit and miss but overall at least ok. We both really loved the eggplant chip appetizer. We recently had it again and it appeared different but I'm happy to say the chips were still very tasty and good. However instead of a savory and spicy sauce they served it with sweet duck sauce this time that we didn't care for. This time I tried the caramel salmon. Most of the pieces of salmon were ok. It was good when you added the flavorful spicy sauce of the side. The salmon was served over lettuce that wilts from the hot fish and comes with a double sized portion of rice. Maybe they just slipped with the soy sauce in the Spicy Basil Dish my husband had. And possibly ran out of basil because his dish had a good spice level but didn't taste like basil at all. This dish mainly had a soy sauce taste and was very salty. Service was attentive and friendly. Plates were cleared quickly. 3 Stars translates to A-OK or average - hit and miss
