Food is good and service is great. The owners are so sweet you can tell they love their business and customers!

    Austin G.

Let me start out by saying the meal wasn't a 5 star meal. However, the 2.4 doesn't reflect the quality I received tonight so I have to help them out a little. The food was a 3.8 to 4.0. I've lived near this place for years. Never tried it, especially because I base my food decisions off of Yelp . My wife and kids wanted Teriyaki last minute and it was directly on my way home, so I decided to give it a shot. Also, with my quest for amazing Teriyaki through Yelp, ive found good Teriyaki but never anything so different that made me flip out with excitement. I ordered a chicken teriyaki with sauce on the side. I got my wife a stir fried vegetable with chicken (not really on the menu), and an order of gyoza. Maybe it was the low expectations, but the chicken wasn't dry, great grilled flavor and fresh. The Teriyaki sauce on the side was a little gelatinous but still tasted great. The stir fried vegetables with chicken wasn't amazing, pretty much a thinner Teriyaki sauce, but it wasn't terrible. A little too sweet for the healthier dish we were going for, but definitely edible. The gyozas were good as well, not quite as hot as I wanted but still a good crisp and good filling flavor. If you are looking for quick, not awful, generic Teriyaki, then I would recommend this place. Also, it was pretty hard to find a current menu anywhere online so I'm uploading that as well.

Teriyaki chicken with a size of gyozas

I ordered the teriyaki chicken and a side of gyoza to go. The chicken was juicy and delicious. The serving size was very large, enough for my mom and I and leftovers for lunch tomorrow! I have eaten here before and never been disappointed. I find it funny when people complain about the prices because everything is more expensive than it used to be how do you expect business to stay open if they don't raise their prices. I have no issues paying the prices at Ichi because I enjoy the food!

Not too bad, but The woman who served was very rude !! don't want to come back!

This place is not good at all. Poor quality and completely over priced. Owner is not very friendly either.

The Teriyaki chicken and Mongolian beef was soupy and tasteless. The front lady was very rude! Waste of $14!

Off of central in Kent closer to s 277th street. There was only one young person in the place with us. Two guys working the place. The owner who catered to us, and the cook. Not sure why I never heard of this place. Owner said they have been open for 3 years now. The food came out fast. We actually ordered too much we had it for three more meals at home. I think overall the food was good. Like I was telling the owner I normally drive to Canada to get Chinese food, or San Fran for dim sum. I'm pretty hard to please. But since I like to support local, I'll bring my friends here another time for lunch. The decor was minimal but nice. From the outside it looked like it was closed, and like it was a home or doctors office. It's right next to a bikini barista. So we missed it the first time. It's a brick building. The tea was really good. The perfect amount of Chinese leaves, and it was nice and hot for a cold blistery day even if it's almost spring.

Service is typical of a Chinese restaurant, and dishes took a while to come out. Dishes we tried: Ginger & Scallion Grass Fish 葱姜脆肉皖 (4.5/5 stars) - $28.99 I've never had fish that's crunchy in texture, it's al dente, almost like cartilage but not as hard. There are also basil in addition to ginger and scallion used to cook the dish, very flavorful and great with rice! Deep fried pork intestine with pickled green 肥肠炒酸菜 (4.5/5 stars) - I've never had this combo before, ans it's good! The intestine is first deep fried, then stir-fried with pickled green, which cuts down the fattiness. Yellow Eel Rice with Crispy Rice 黄鳝饭 (3.5/5 stars) - $65.99 for the small size, which is enough for 3-4 people to share. I love the cripsy rice, but it was a little burnt; the rest of the dish was bland) Garlic flavored square rib (3/5 stars) - battered is thick and crunchy, flavor is average. nothing special. I'm coming back with more people to try more dishes!

Regarding the origin of the buffet, the most widely circulated theory is linked to the Viking…read morepirates of Northern Europe during the 8th to 11th centuries. · Nordic Viking Era (8th-11th century): To save trouble, the Vikings simply laid out food for everyone to take on their own. This custom was preserved in Sweden and gradually evolved into the Smörgåsbord (Scandinavian cold buffet), which is the direct and continuous ancestor of the modern buffet. · France (18th-19th century): The French adopted the word "Buffet" (originally meaning a sideboard or serving table) to describe this self‑service style of dining and promoted it among high society. · Perfection in Japan: The modern buffet model we know today--featuring cold dishes, hot dishes, desserts, and a wide variety of options--was established by the Imperial Hotel Tokyo in 1958. · Las Vegas: The now‑popular "all‑you‑can‑eat" model originated in Las Vegas, USA, in the 1940s. Casinos offered cheap or even free buffets to keep gamblers on the premises, a strategy that quickly became widespread. · Introduction to China: The buffet was introduced to China in the 1930s, initially appearing only in foreign‑funded hotels. It was not until the late 1980s that it reached the general public through tourist joint‑venture hotels. Here's the English translation of your review: Ambience: This buffet restaurant seems to have been around for a long time. You can tell it was quite luxurious about 10 years ago. Relatively speaking, it's still fairly clean. Taste: There is a huge variety of options, covering dozens of items including Chinese stir-fried dishes, Western food, Japanese cuisine, teppanyaki, fruit, seafood, salad, as well as drinks and ice cream. I mainly tried the Chinese stir-fried dishes, boiled shrimp, and teppanyaki. Considering the price per person, I think every item met my expectations. Service - unexpectedly good: From asking how many people in our party at the entrance, to guiding us to a table and asking if the seat was comfortable, to explaining the dining process, and clearing plates during the meal - all of it was very good. Room for improvement: Some of the items are pre-made dishes that only need simple deep-frying or grilling. Pre-made dishes can be categorized into a few types: easy to cook, easy to eat, easy to heat. Based on my experience in the industry, the essence of pre-made dishes is really an issue of trust. If the selection is done properly and customers don't experience any adverse reactions after eating, then it's a good business.
