Ichiban has changed a lot over the years but it is still a solid choice. Especially for Yelm as there aren't many great food options (especially that isn't fast food). My favorite place for pork teriyaki. This is the only place in yelm that uses pork tenderloin for their pork teriyaki. Always juicy, charred, and flavorful. The other places use very thin cut pork which tends to get dry and over cooked too. The owners are always so sweet and they are very generous with their portions. First timer. Ordered House Fried Rice and combo of sweet sour chicken with teriyaki chicken. Place is nice and clean with an assortment of Pepsi products. Big menu board and order at the counter. Food came out fast. Forgot to take a picture until I ate half of it. Chicken was moist and sweet and sour was really good. Portion size filled me up and wife took half of the fried rice home. $40 for the food plus 2 sodas. Will come back and try other stuff. read more

As I have been a long time customer of ichiban's and, I was disappointed when you got rid of beef broccoli hoping you would bring it back, but I still had sweet and sour chicken and teriyaki beef and chicken combo but over time the quality of food has changed my sweet and sour chicken is now mostly dough and alittle piece of chicken and off and on the sweet and sour sauce tastes different or the chicken is overcooked and dry in the teriyaki chicken combo and the teriyaki sauce taste terrible like it's missing an ingredient , I'm so disappointed and I would go back different days to see if it was just a bad day and the sauce did at times get better and two times the chicken and batter were equal but lately the sweet and sour chicken is awful it's not sweet and sour chicken if the the deep fried pieces are dough and maybe a tiny square piece of chicken inside and all I'm eating is batter and sauce,I know prices of food has gone up but dont change how you used to cook and serve your dishes, your food is the best but something has changed and now the way the food is made,cooked no longer makes me want to come back, I'm sorry ichiban's I loved coming down to get my yummy on, but the yummy has left and my taste buds just dont taste the quality like it was before, I will check from time to time but it might be awhile ,sorry guys read more

The only reason I give it a 4 star is because the fried rice was very bland and didn't seem like it had flavoring. It seemed more oily than anything. My fiancé and I got the family pack fried rice and it is well worth the money ($43 for a crap ton of stuff). We were able to use leftovers for lunch the next day and even dinner. The chicken teriyaki was very good along with the gyoza and egg rolls, my only complaint is the fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. Those two items just were so bland. The food is delicious, the service is fabulous, and this has definitely become one of our favorite local spots! It's quiet, calm, relaxing in there, with so many plants! I intended on taking pics of the food before we all dug in but it smelled so good and we were starving... Oops! The lack of a menu made it difficult to be sure we could get what we wanted but used photos of menu board someone posted here and it worked out well. My husband and I both ordered the spicy chicken - awesome. Best teriyaki we have had, just spicy enough to give it a kick but not so hot that a kid couldn't handle it. Plus the portion size was big - we were both stuffed and still left enough for lunch the following day. The chicken was very tender and just perfectly done. It came with plenty of rice and a bit of steamed cabbage, carrots, and broccoli. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken for our kids to split, also delicious. Egg rolls were great, tiny bit oily but hard to criticize food for being oily when it's fried in it. The Gyoza was also pretty good. We ordered the wonton soup because another reviewer rated it high and mentioned it had egg in it- they were SO Right! It was amazing and fresh - it was definitely the best wonton soup I've ever tried. We could eat here once a week, too bad we'd passed it up for the few years we've lived in town - try it if you haven't yet they are worth it. read more

I stopped here after a dental appointment to get some lunch. I ordered Shrimp Fried Rice. The shrimp were about .06 in long. You needed magnifying glass to see them and surely could not taste them. They were miniature canned shrimp. No pictures up so would not have paid $13.99 for a box of rice and no meat!
