Not sure what happened to what were for me, the best egg rolls on the planet but the ones I got tonight are not the same as they were just 6 months ago. The dipping sauce is super runny, not thick like it was. The price for two egg rolls when I came to Yelm was $2.99 then $3.99 and I even think $4.99, but tonight for 2 egg rolls it was $5.45 before tax. Happy to pay bc they WERE delicious but tonight TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. Runny dipping sauce and no flavor. What happened Young's???? I would not recommend these egg rolls anymore. read more

Their curry chicken was horrible. I couldn't taste curry at all...it was more like a soupy, white glaze. Absolutely horrible! Missing former owner, this place has lost its inviting atmosphere and eliminated waiters?!?! So disappointed - not going back. read more

Most unique sauces I have had and can't find anywhere else with immaculate flavor! Good big portions too and fairly priced for small family business and portions. They completely changed the food and the ordering process. The food is lacking any sort of sauce. The miso is salter than a bowl of salt ( and I've eaten a bowl of salt). But my biggest concern is how they are making the sweet and sour chicken, it used to be just breaded chicken and the sauce, it was very simple and delicious. Now it's very little sauce, carrots, onion, bell pepper, and chicken aka filler and it's what you can get at every other happy teriyaki place. The atmosphere is the same but seems a little dimmer since the change. Long story short if you've been here in the past month or have been going here for the last 26 years like I have you will be disappointed. read more

We go here often, to eat in restaurant. The food is decent (for Yelm) but so so compared to most. After tonight I will not be back or my family!. I ordered chicken teriyaki with sweet and sour cream chicken for myself, for 24 some odd dollars.(TO GO) I tried to squirt a bit of sriracha over my rice and was screamed at from the witch behind the counter. I said, if I eat here, I can take the whole bottle to my table, but if I take it to go , I can't put a little on my rice? She yelled at me, We SELL WE SELL! Portions are a lot smaller for to go as well. So, for the evil witch behind the counter, I will be going to Ichiban from now on. I hope the 5 cents you saved on that sriracha was worth the hundreds of dollars my family used to spend here every year! read more

Terrible, this was our first time trying this place and we will not be back. We were told 25 minutes for our food but it took an hour, our food was cold and soggy on one order. When we were waiting people were walking in and eating and getting food right away. For what we got the price was ridiculous. I heard it's never that busy and stuff like that but that doesn't excuse the lady bringing our order out and setting it on the counter to then talk to someone for a good 10 minutes and then finally call our number! Uhm, it's ok. Not real authentic. The pros: quick service, friendly high school waitress, the soup was awesome and it is clean. The cons: plain food, small portions, and kind of cold inside. And, no beer. Damn, hard to enjoy teriyaki without a Japanese beer. Quite a few folks were getting takeout so it must have a good reputation. Just not for me. I hope your experience is better. This is the closest Teriyaki to our place now and finally decided to try it out this past weekend. OK if you want SPICY CHICKEN with VEGGIES, you need to try this place, they will give you SPICY and you will LOVE IT! My o my , intended to try another place but there hours went posted incorrectly on maps so looked for another similar place and found Young's .... Good find . Place was busy and service was the absolute best ever, food was piping hot and timely. The owner must have filled our drinks at least twice, the food was so fresh vegetables were done perfectly. We were so full and happy , we were treated with the best service , if you are looking for a Japanese style of food this is the place , we drove from Rochester (30 miles) and would defiantly come back and recommend this place for the food and service !!! read more

Yakisoba is not an egg noodle recipe and I witnessed the cook grab a handful of noodles and throw them in that dirty wok with no gloves and cut the chicken with scissors as she was eating some also! I would give them zero stars if I could. Customer service was at best wretched. Food was disgusting. Beef was rubbery and tasted like it was leftover from last weekend. My family and I come here all the time. My kids love eating here. The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. No matter how busy they are, they always greet everyone who walks in the door. My daughter loves the soup and loves to help clean the tables. The portion is a good amount as well. I feel other places give you a little amount. Youngs gives a pretty large portion. Pretty disappointing teriyaki. I don't really eat chicken, so I usually opt for beef teriyaki. Why is the beef $3 more than the chicken? $10.95 for beef teriyaki is pretty expensive, especially for the quality I received. They were super stingy with the rice (two pitiful scoops that I amounted to a few bites), and really thin and fatty beef. The teriyaki sauce itself also left a lot to be desired. Thin and runny consistency that lacked flavor and they only give you a very small portion of it. Considering I worked in a teriyaki restaurant before, and teriyaki sauce is literally soy sauce and sugar, it's hard to get that wrong. I'd recommend skipping this place and trying the other teriyaki place in town or making the drive somewhere else. It's just not worth the money. read more
