    Chashu miso ramen

This restaurant was amazing!! The ramen was incredible. Delicious broth with both the chashu and the vegetarian ramen. It is a small but very traditional looking Japanese restaurant with nice tables and chairs. The service was excellent and they are even dog friendly as long as they are under the table. 10/10 we can't wait to come back.

Stopped in for quick lunch and received a friendly greeting. It was slow with no other customers. Got the pork buns which were messy to eat, but were juicy & delicious. The tsukemen was flavorful with a kick. The dipping sauce/broth was a little thinner than expected, but it was delicious, if you're in the area give it a try they've got a pretty big menu.

    Food

Food is very good they have a very varied menu with good reasonable prices which is nice to see now a days. Atmosphere is nice no blaring music staff were all friendly especially our server Maria.

Without a doubt -- the best place for ramen! Ramen Ichitaru won me over from the very first visit. The broth is rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The noodles are fresh and springy -- exactly how good Japanese ramen should be. The tonkotsu ramen was especially impressive -- absolutely delicious! The fried chicken was incredibly tasty and crispy -- with a golden crust and juicy meat inside. And the shrimp rice was devoured by my child in under five minutes -- the best proof of how good it was! If you're looking for authentic and delicious ramen (and more!) -- this is the place to go. A solid 5 stars, and I'll definitely be coming back!

Glad I didn't read the reviews before coming here! We are new to town and tried this place on a whim. Everything was delicious! We ordered gyoza appetizer and they came out so fast and were probably the best gyoza I've ever had! Ramen soup with pork was 10/10 and my mom loved her chicken teriyaki. Friendly service and clean! Will come back!

First time and last time at this place. WORST ramen I've ever had in my life!!! Food absolutely terrible, 0 stars. Service terrible, 0 stars. Interior, very dirty 0 stars. I got major stomachache from eating here. Ordered a regular miso ramen and the pork buns. The miso ramen was super salty and had no flavor except salt. I asked for the regular tonkatsu broth, and the server didn't even know what that is. Never order from a Ramen place that doesn't even know what the word Tonkatsu means. The Ramen and the pork buns came out and the bun was something you get an discount grocery store where the items have expired six months ago, and not at all fresh. The noodles or worse. Absolutely taste like trash. Looks like trash also, see photo. I ate a few bites and throw the rest away, and I was starving. Oh server also got a bad attitude. The interior of the place is absolutely greasy filthy and disgusting. Doesn't look like any cleaning has been done in a long time. Makes one wonder about the cleanliness of the food. Save yourself some money and stomach pain and go to Poke Moon in Encinitas for the best ramen in North County! Even Ichiban chain is significantly better than this place!

Pretty good. It was a little expensive for what it was but it was decent. Small place and the service could get better.

Parking is usually pretty easy, and while the restaurant is small, there is both indoor and outdoor seating. One of the best deals is their happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. I especially love their cocktails, and they're even better at happy hour prices. My go to order is the katsu chicken curry ramen. It's so good! I'm also a big fan of the poke bowl and their specialty sushi rolls. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and I've consistently had great experiences here. Good food, good drinks, and great service. I'll definitely be back again and again.

But I had also just had ramen a week ago so tried to change it up further by getting the chicken curry ramen. Wanted sushi. Ended up getting something that tasted more like Indian food. Maybe if that's what I was in the mood for I would have enjoyed it. Although I think if I'm craving curry I will just order curry, and not curry-style ramen. I will say that the chicken karaage here is way better than the one at Underbelly. It was softer and juicier. The ramen I ate the other night was Underbelly and the chicken was so dry and tasteless. I don't even know why people hype that place up so much; it's pretty overrated.

Yelp! review #15 of 2026 Visit on 16 March…read more Dropped in around 7pm with a party of 9, including several meat eaters and one vegan friend. The place wasn't too busy but had decent reviews, so we decided to give it a try (for the win!). They were able to accommodate our large group with seating, which was really appreciated. Once we sat down and placed our orders, things initially seemed fine. But then the service slipped. When I asked for water, they only brought out three cups, just for the kids. We had to ask multiple times before my wife and I finally got ours. Most of the food arrived, but my eldest daughter's meal was completely missing. After we inquired, it took another 15 minutes for it to come out. It really felt like they had forgotten half our order. The fried rice and broth arrived even later. On the positive side, the food tasted fresh and was genuinely good overall. What really stood out negatively, though, was the staff's response every time we said "thank you." Instead of "you're welcome" or "no problem," it was always just "Yep!" It came across as dismissive and disrespectful. While the food was solid, the service and basic human interaction need real improvement. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll probably look for other options.

It's "mall ramen" at premium prices. The value is the biggest sticking point. Charging nearly $19 for a basic bowl--and then tacking on almost $4 for an egg--feels steep when you compare it to the local competition. At Wu Lan, you're getting a more complex bowl (like the Mega Pig) for a better price point. It's the place you go when you don't want to deal with the crowds in Carlsbad Village or when you're already doing errands on Vista Way. It's clean and the service is fast, but the food itself is unmemorable.

You are first greeted with a campfire smell as soon as you reach the entrance, and indoor the cooks and the staff along with the seating build on this ambience. We also ordered the Ribeye, with the $18 side of gratin potatoes which were great and campfire style. We also had the fish of the day which I recommend skipping. The staff went over and beyond with the service. If we ever come back, we would not get the ribeye and fish again though. Will likely get the broccoli again and try the chicken "campfire style".

The restaurant is small, cozy, welcoming and aesthetically pleasing. It isn't well suited for larger parties as most tables are tables for 2 unless tables are pushed together. They do have patio seating and heaters outside, but it didn't appeal to me being so close to the street/loud traffic. Gabriel checked us in, seated us, took our order, served our food and waited on us for majority of our visit, I would give him 10 stars just on his impeccable service. The food though? The food was AMAZING!! Everything we ordered was the best we have ever had anywhere. The buns were very kawaii (and we ordered ever single one to try). The fillings were savory, but we also loved their seasonal panda bun with ube filling while the kids preferred the nutella bunny. Best chicken karaage we've had by far, the coating almost tasted like it was rolled in kinako powder. The ramen broth was "chef's kiss" with so much flavors, the crab rangoon were jumbo and the filling was delicious, but the chicken katsu was also the best we have had anywhere (including Hawaii). The breading was just top tier crunchy while the chicken was thick and juicy. There isn't one bad thing I could say about this place, from the service to the food, I would make the drive out here again.
