So I want to preface this that I may have ordered the wrong thing for my palate, but I found the Chashu Ramen with Spicy Miso underwhelming. It had a cloying, sweetish aftertaste which wasn't to my liking. Portion size was a little small compared to other places, but that's fine as I actually prefer that. However it was pricey for what you get, especially given that the soft boiled egg is not included. Also, I found it strange that they don't offer regular Tonkotsu Ramen on the menu. I may give this place another shot as there's not a lot of Ramen shops in Carlsbad. read more

The service at this place is horrible! My daughter was craving Ramen, so we went there. Soon as we get there, we here the loudest techno Music in Spanish being played by the cook. I asked the waitress very nicely, if she could ask him to lower the volume, she did nothing about it. I asked her one more time "Do you think you can ask him to bring down the sound a little bit, it's really loud"...she went and said something to him and he still did not do it. I'm thinking what does Spanish techno have to do with a Japanese Ramen place in a family restaurant?? I asked him nicely myself "Do you think, you can please bring down the volume a little..it's really loud". His response was "I'm playing it here, if you don't like it, move to closer to the door. Now, its cold and my kid is wearing a camisole, what kind of entitled employee says that to a paying customer. The two guys in the kitchen proceeded to look in our direction and give us dirty looks. I was so uncomfortable, but my daughter really had her heart set on Ramen. When we left the same guy gave me the dirtiest look....I read it as "don't come back". What a horrible way to treat customers and to put them through this at dinner time. I wish I knew who the owner was so I could let them know. I am sure the food is good, but may be better to eat there. The staff is not very courteous and borderline rude. Service goes a long way with me and I doubt I will return to this establishment. It was a rainy Sunday night and they were not busy. I was left standing at the counter for well over 10 min while the server ran around cashing people out and ignoring me, while my order sat. When I said something about my order sitting for too long, his reply was it's still warm. I ordered chicken ramen to go and although this food had potential, because it sat, the chicken cooked longer than necessary and became rubbery. Last night I ordered a Chanpon ramen to go, with various add ons, including spinach. When I got home, much to my disgust, there was a piece of bloody clear plastic, about 1 inch by 2 inches, under the spinach, which was the "topping". Visible as soon as I started to mix it. Cool lil spot. It was my first time trying a ramen restaurant. The staff was kind and very attentive. The ramen tasted pretty good, the gyoza was good and the kids loved the dessert. I've also ordered take out and it was actually a little better the second time around. I will say this; don't order corn in your ramen because it made the entire bowl taste "corny". read more

Pretty good Raman. It took a long time to get us a table. Then we step is very good. Definitely come back.

Waitress wasn't very good, she wiped down the table is was wet, we had to dry with napkins. She tried to sit us next to a baby while the restaurant was empty. Asked her a simply question. " Which is more popular the Pork or the chicken gyoza. She just repeated the question. Extra's was overpriced. Pork Chasu was more fat than meat. Worse it was dry and had no flavor. Ramen broth gave me a upset stomach all night. Not once did she check on us. I had to serve myself for more water. Didn't bother to ask us if we wanted dessert, just put our bill on the table and left. No Thank You from her When I was leaving, I told the Chief of our bad experience he could have cared less. Good selection of ramen available. I got the cha siu ramen. The meat and noodles were great. Just a little less broth than I'm used to.

The menu seems normal but when you walk in there's a weird atmosphere and the whole time the waitress was staring at us as we ate. Decent ramen but for the price point we would expect more. A lot of the dishes were kinda off. The spicy chasu had a spoiled milk aftertaste and the garlic ramen had a burnt onion taste. The seaweed salad had minimal seaweed and instead was replaced with grocery store spinach and greens. The pork buns had a lot of Mayo and the pork itself was really tough and had spinach again. The meat in both ramen bowls were super thick and not tender as regular chasu usually is. Just seems like they're trying to match the high end presentation without the high quality. read more

Walked in, sat down, waited. Two other groups came in and sat down, were given menus and waters. Then they got their menus ordered. One guy in one of the groups got a beer served to him. All the while I'm sitting there without having even been looked at by a server. Eventually got up and left. This is a great place to come if you want to sit around waisting your time. I've come here once in the past and had a strange experience with service staff then as well. Don't eat here. read more

Walked in today at 12:50 pm and placed our order right away. We asked the server to bring the food out as soon as it's ready because we had a hungry toddler with us. 40 minutes goes by and at 1:30pm we still don't have anything from our order on the table. The restaurant was empty aside from another man sitting at an adjacent table. Server is a caucasian woman just standing around- she didn't communicate anything about why our order was taking so long. As we are waiting she brings the other customer a salad, a beer and has a conversation with him. We were getting bothered by why our order was taking so long so my husband asks the server about our order. According to her, an inspector from the health district was at the restaurant. That's fine and all but she could have let us know what was going on instead of keeping us waiting for so long in an empty restaurant. She wasn't apologetic about the delay when my husband inquired about our order- she shrugged her shoulders as if it was acceptable to take so long and not give us an update. At that point we left the restaurant. Really bad customer service. This is not good for business. read more

Delicious Ramen and great service. We were in and out during lunch. Only recommendation is that the "hot" is not as hot as anticipated. Level 4 didn't even really have a kick but it was delicious nonetheless. I ordered the Chasu Ramen. The caramelized onions add the perfect flavor. We'll definitely be back. read more

Had the worst experience at this restaurant! Should have walked out as soon as I got there! Really wanted to try the new ramen place in town and will not be coming back. Out horrible experience started when We walked in the door to be seated. Nothing but an empty scouring look from the little girl at the register. Finally this gentleman who was the busiest guy in the place approached me and helped us out with seating. He ended up being our server for the night and was excellent. Gave us great service and was the only thing good about this place. I believe he went by the name rob. Excellent server in a horrible establishment! So to continue why I will never come back here is the fact that this was most unsatisfying ramen I have ever eaten! They put next to nothin in their ramens and I don't think anyone in my group even wanted to finish theirs. To top it all off my husband found a long black hair in his soup!!!!!! Didn't even want to complain to the poor server running around because he was the only one doing anything. We payed out bill and left. Took leftovers to go which was also a mistake. Then next morning for lunch I didn't feel like cooking anything special so I was gonna give the ramen another go. The soup of the ramen turned into a disgusting gelatin substance over night!
