Let me tell you ....one of the diamonds fell out of my main engagement ring and they repaired it for free a year later. My review is about my engagement ring shopping experience: After some research and in-person shopping at some of the top-rated DTLA Jewelry District stores listed on Yelp, I went with Icing On The Ring because of their competitive pricing, great post-purchase benefits, and their pressure-free professional customer service. Ara was the diamond expert I worked with. He was attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and supremely helpful as I was trying to decide between various combinations of (lab-grown) diamond color grade, clarity, and carat. I realize that engagement ring shopping can be tiring in the same way car shopping can be: there's all these levers and switches and tactics that sales people often try to bamboozle you with. Having checked out 4 other places within the same block and even the same floor, I've encountered a range of characters from the chatty, slick-talking, high-pressure salesperson to the bored staffperson who was too absorbed in their cell phone to care. One guy even scoffed at my budget saying it was "impossible" as he proceeded to try to shame-upsell me. Here they have you choose your setting first and then give you a beautiful selection of loose stones that would work well with the look you want to achieve. From the first appointment, Ara was personable, funny, and knowledgable and not at all the terrifying caricature of a diamond sales person I imagined up in my head via movies and mainstream media (UNCUT GEMS.. even though I didn't finish the movie). He was so patient as we compared what seemingly looked like 3 versions of the same emerald-cut diamond lol. Those small differences really add up to a lot of weight when you're thinking about such a big purchase from the person you kind of want to spend the rest of your life with. Okay.
