My tankless water heater broke down. Called around the plumbers I found on Yelp and none of them picked up the phone until Chris from Icon picked up after 3rd ring. Told him the problem and he asked to send him couple pictures of the WH and then he called back told me what he thinks the issues might be, turns out my WH is but too old and was not maintained well throughout the years, so time for a new one. He was able to put together a quote for me quickly and he was able to come out and do it on the same day so we won't have no hot water for the night. Everything was great and I scheduled him to come out that same afternoon. However due to my house was scheduled for a building dept inspection and under the advice from my contractor, I had to cancel the appt with Chris. We took a leap of faith with Icon plumbing and we're happily rewarded with outstanding workmanship, fantastic service and fair pricing. It wasn't an easy decision, as we had four other bids for our project. We liked Mat's friendly down to earth manner and felt an immediate sense of trust with him, so we decided not to go with the bigger more established Marin plumbers. Project Scope: - New tankless water heater and boiler (radiant heat) upgrade - Infrastructure update to meet code - Add laundry sink and laundry box Mat and his team helped us do a much needed system upgrade to our 1961 Eichler. Along with the new tankless Navien 240 NCB-E combo boiler for radiant heat and domestic water, Mat upgraded legacy infrastructure to get our house up to code. We also decided to add a laundry sink and proper laundry box. It was notably tough to decide on what kind of tankless system we wanted. Mat was very helpful in giving us the right perspective when purchasing our first tankless system. We had very high standards overall for this project because we wanted a nice clean look to go along with our newly re-modeled garage. Mat delivered big time and worked seamlessly with us and our carpenter to make sure the job stayed on schedule and things got done right. Most of all, Mat went out of his way to make sure we had minimal service interruption (hot water/gas) during the project. This was huge. We past inspection thanks to Mat, which wasn't easy because of a some mystery gas leaks we found when doing a pressure test pre-inspection. Mat worked tirelessly to find to the leaks (turned out to be caused by old lines) and made sure everything would check out for the inspection. We plan to be in our house for a long time. Terrible customer service. I called needing a leaky faucet repaired. They spent over 5 minutes getting the details just to tell me someone else would call me back to schedule an appointment. 24 hours later I called back to make sure they didn't lose my information. I can say without a doubt, that I have just met the last honest plumber in Marin. Not only did Andrew Pino install our new 50 gallon water heater by himself, he also changed some of our old galvanized pipes that fed into it. None of the other plumbers offered to do that. I did shop around and the other guys were giving me the run around and telling me things that "had" to be done. I called to schedule a service call for a client (I work with the elderly) who had a leak but we didn't know where. The water district came out and checked the outside of the home and suggested to have a plumber look inside. I called Icon and they tried to get out there the same day I called. When they were there, they immediately identified the problem, fixed it and called me to explain. I called Icon on Saturday morning because I was moving into a new home and needed new toilets installed. Aaron Pierce said he could do it that day and came over a couple hours later. He installed one toilet and had to go to another job but said he'd return afterward to install the other one. He came back at around 6 PM and finished the job. It's a Sunday morning and our restaurant was in the middle of a busy Brunch rush -- a water pipe burst and was leaking all over our kitchen equipment! We made it through the rush, emptying buckets of water the entire time! We were fully booked for dinner during the busy holidays and knew we had to fix the problem before the next rush, or face possible closure and calling all those reservations! Icon Plumbing was amazing!!!! One of my pipes burst and there was water everywhere. I had to shut off my water. I called every plumbing service under the sun and no one was able to see me. I spoke with Matt and he said that he was super busy, but if he was able to finish a job he would stop by. Great service. Came out in an hour the Sunday before Xmas. The plumber knew exactly what was wrong. It was that the last plumber had installed a pipe under the kitchen sink backwards. The dirty water in the kitchen sink had leaked all over the floor but the Icon plumber did a great stop-gap fix and came early the next morning with the correct parts to do a permanent strong fix. Cleaned up everything and very polite and knowledgeable. My go-to plumber now. read more

My water heater recent quit working and needed repair. I figured out the issue with some online research and called another plumber before Icon for a quote. They said the job would take 2.5 to 3 hours and they couldn't do it that day. I needed hot water so I used Yelp and saw Andrew's great reviews. He called me back within 30 mins, could come the same day, and his price was substantially less than the prior quote. The job was also finished in under an hour. Andrew is a gentleman and a real asset to our community. To put it bluntly he put the flush back in our system at no benefit to himself. I called him because we had real flow issues, and assumed we had some backup in our line. We expected him to run a snake through our line and expected a couple of hundred dollars in work (the usual story). Instead he asked me a question or two and told me it was (sorry for the details) urine build up in our toilet. He recommended I use an off the shelf acid and if that didn't work to get a new toilet. Let me make that clear - he told me not to have him do anything because it was a simple job. He didn't even want to charge me for a service call, and I had to beg him to take a twenty out of consideration for his time. I followed his advice and our toilets are working great for about $10 and some time on my part. I will definitely call Andrew first next time. read more
