When I started to get my lashes done, years ago, I lived in Japan. It was pretty tough for me to explain what I wanted but the English speaking places had pictures and notebooks to show me all the different lengths, thicknesses and styles so I went with it. In Japan, it's pretty common and so I felt that they paid attention to detail. Anyway, when I moved to Chicago, I went from salon to salon to try to find a place and I had a lot of trouble finding a place. It was confusing to me, because it was so much cheaper in Japan, and yet, my lashes would just fall out after a few days! It was frustrating, and when I finally found someone, she was always booked 2 months in advance. After, I moved back to NYC, and I went through the usual frustration finding the right person. I went from groupon to groupon and then when I found the salon I liked (not the usual factory eyelash places out here), I kept asking if I could try and see another person. The 3rd person was Andra. And, she was AMAZING! Better than anyone I've ever been with because my lashes always looked beautiful and I get compliments all the time. They stay on so long, and look so good, and she always has advice on how to tend to them and keep them strong. She takes her time and has pride in her work. Now that she's moved to her own salon, it's been awesome because there isn't that corporate time restraint, and terrible music that was forced. It's pretty amazing that I get compliments even 2 weeks after my appointment! Recently, I found out that she is certified in micro-blading and I keep seeing her clients (and previous co-workers). It's so incredibly weird to me that it looks so real. I typically have some fear with the unknown, but with my wedding coming up, and the countless $$$ I spend with eyebrow makeup, it is so tempting. I've seen picture after picture, and she even does cancer patients free of charge! I am mentally preparing to take the plunge. I wanted to write this review for her because she is simply amazing and deserves recognition and being her client for over a year, I feel that I owe this to her, even though it may be harder to get my own appointments. The craziest part was how fair her pricing is - given that everything in Manhattan is over priced by two fold, she has great prices for her services. I work in a conservative office and she definitely paid attention to my request to keep a natural look - she will not try to over sell you.
