This was my first time visiting. I ordered the chicken dosa and was very surprised and impressed by the flavor, quality, different choice sauces, and price for the amount that was given. It is especially rare to see all of this and today's economy dealing with. "Shrinkflation" almost everywhere you go. WOW. Easily among the best South Indian food I've ever had, and definitely the best in the Bay Area. The dosa itself is perfect, crispy, flavorful, and delicious. In addition, the chutney and sambar are mouthwatering complements to the meal. I got the Vijaywada chicken dosa, which was ridiculously good. It was listed as spicy, but it was mild in terms of chilies, but VERY well-seasoned. I definitely ate more than I thought I could. Visited ID cafe in pleasanton yesterday. I had already been to the newark location in the past so I was curious what is new in the cafe. The food was fresh and their idli 65 was crispy and hot - perfect for the rain. I tried the matki dosa for the first time and it was a treat for both eyes and my taste buds. Must try. Being a south indian I do end up eating idli and dosa at home quite often, but ID cafe gives a new burst of flavors to the classics. Highly recommend. We are Filipinos and are not familiar with ordering but the staff were super nice and gave us good insights. We ordered: Chilli cheese dosa, chicken dosa, Tikka fries, Samosas and Mango Lassi and all of it were so tasty! My favorite is the Chilli cheese dosa and you dip in peanut sauce! I just had lunch at the newly opened ID Cafe in Stoneridge Mall with a good friend. I have been hearing so many amazing things about this restaurant that I decided to check it out myself today. This restaurant is located inside the mall near California Pizza Kitchen. It is a very spacious restaurant and can seat 100 ppl easily. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They serve vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian. I am a vegetarian and I was worried if the same grill is used for veg and non veg. I was told there are separate dosa grills for vegetarians. I ordered a Vijayawada Paneer Dosa priced at $14 plus taxes. My friend ordered Sambar Idly and we both had a coffee each. The Vijayawada Paneer dosa was amazing. Though the dosa appears to be small in the photo and looks pricey at $14 plus taxes , it is quite filling. It came with three chutneys, 4 oz of Sambar and Kachumber Salad on the side (surprised ) The Sambar is more of an Andhra Style so a bit more tangy than what I am used to. The coconut chutney was good. The peanut chutney lacked salt. The tomato chutney I did not much care for because I only have coconut chutney with my dosas. My friend loved his Sambar Idly. Two pieces of Sambar Idly dunked in Sambar served without any chutney was priced at $10.50. Overall we had a great experience. The Vijayawada paneer dosa was definitely worth the try. The filter coffee was okay. I could not finish the entire cup of coffee. Serving food on Arecanut plates is a great idea. Hope they can eliminate plastic completely. Also the Sambar quantity at 4 oz is a bit less. Over all 8/10 Will I go back ? Absolutely, can't wait to try the other dosas. read more

We love Id Cafe food and had been going all the way to Fremont for ID Cafe for a long time and were super happy when the Pleasanton one opened. Never ever we had any issues but today at the ID cafe in Stoneridge mall, the manager on duty, Vishal, refused to give us a chutney to go with a take out order of pulugullu. We had sat down and had food there. Their Sambhar quantity is so less that you end up requesting more. He gave me the reason that I had requested extra sambhar while "dining in" that's why he couldn't give me one chutney to go with my "to go"order. Even for extra sambhar, they were making faces. We never faced this at the Fremont location. Vishal also said to me that he doesn't care about Yelp reviews. I hope the owner receives the feedback and does something about this because we love this place and would hate to stop going there just because of this one visit. This is so disappointing that they care about their penny worth of chutney more than their customer service and satisfaction!! read more
