Waffle Dipped Cone - Large scoops
    John K.

While in Richfield, Utah we tried Ideal Dairy. We got a waffle cones one with soft serve and one with three scoops. They were awesome. They have a variety of food for breakfast and lunch. The service was easy order and receive a number and they bring it to your table. The ambiance is 50's feel, you can even sit at the counter with swivel stools. When in Richfield Ideal Dairy a try.

You walk in and this place is spacious for a group setting. We were only here to try some ice cream. However, they do serve food. They had a lot of variety of flavors for ice cream including sugar free. They did offer free samples and I went with the chocolate with some vanilla with it? I can't remember the name now unfortunately, but ice cream itself was so flavorful! They also offer waffle cones which you can get up to three flavors. The size of this ice cream was huge. I'm still thinking about it... the lady who helped us out was very kind. The place was clean, I've got no complaints. They do sell their own ice cream in buckets and wish I could take them home with me!

BBQ chicken panini and cheddar broccoli soup!

Stopped through here on our cross-country trip and this was an adorable, delicious find!! We tried the barbecue chicken panini with the cheddar broccoli soup, and it was SO delicious! To top it off, the staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. Mix that with a little comfort food and you have a home away from home! They have so many options for food, don't forget to try the ice cream and pie they have to offer! I even spotted a pinto bean pie that has me wondering what kind of delicious danger lies inside the crust. This place is a must stop! Would absolutely come back through here again!

This is the place you want to grab food! Whether passing through or local, you cannot go wrong with the service and quality here. I got the BBQ chicken bacon panini...YUM, I highly suggest! The workers are absolutely the friendliest and hosting a very welcoming environment. Thank you, Ideal Dairy, for a great experience!

Chicken Monterey on a bagel and a vanilla ice cream!

While traveling from Buffalo to Las Vegas I stopped in the small town of Richfield to catch up on my sleep. Across the street from the hotel I was staying at was this cool little local spot known as Ideal Dairy. This place was not what I expected, but in a good way. This little shop offers fresh made sandwiches and ice cream all at a great price. I settled on ordering a Monterey jack chicken on a bagel with bacon, onion, and peppers and it was absolutely delicious. For dessert? (I had to get some dessert) I ordered some vanilla ice cream which came in a cup and it really topped the sandwich off, creamy and delicious. On top of the food and ice cream I ordered a "Juice bag" which is exactly what it sounds like, juice in a bag. This was the first time in my life I've seen small bags of juice so curiosity got the best of me and I ordered an orange one. This small bagged juice was tasty, and honestly pretty cool to drink. Overall, I had a great experience visiting Ideal Dairy. The staff was great, the place itself reminded me of old school little burger shops, and the food was pretty darn good as well.

Do not come here!!! This was the place but now it sucks ass! They charged me on thing I did not order. In the drive through waited 45 mins for a shake and two scoop of ice cream. I used to love this place but I will never comeback again.

My family and I stopped here on our road trip-- my parents have been several times on prior road trips and raved about it, especially the milkshakes so I was super excited to check in out. What a cute place with fun decor and delicious food! We all had breakfast sandwiches or bagels, with milkshakes, because vacation :) They had lots of gluten-free options, which we appreciated. We also stopped on the leg back home and utilized the drive through since the inside was closed at the time. Totally a must-stop! We'll be back!

The only good thing this place has to offer is the Cherry Ideal. Everything else tastes like they just pulled it out of the microwave.

The food was good. The ice cream was great and all of it was very affordable. We will come back here next time we pass through town.

My family and I LOVE to eat at Ideal Dairy. We love the French Toast. And it is a good thing we only live a five minute walk from there.

We are a little hoity-toity though: For my tri-tip 10 oz., it came out nicely spiced, medium rare as specified, but cut with the grain, not across it (which would have made it much more tender). No char / Maillard reaction on the outside. My spouse ordered blackened salmon, which again was spiced fine, but was not blackened at all. She also had a glass of "Merlot" wine, which was red, and had traces of alcohol in it. We arrived on July 24th, Utah's Founder's Day. The place was packed but we were seated right away by the hostess who had a sense of humor - nice!

Since they are a franchise they are not identical, and each one seems to play off the local identity and try to have decor that aligns with the area as well as the bear themed stuff. They have a small gift area, not overwhelming but a few branded items and typical touristy stuff. It's cute and seems to be well made stuff. Food - Oh yea, there's food! They have a really extensive menu and breakfast is served all day. My only regret is I love tri-tip and they have it on the menu but each time I was at a Black Bear they had run out. Admittedly we had arrived very late and I'll assume it's both good and popular since all three had run out. It's worth noting that for breakfast, they have real link sausage as well as other options and the sausage is nothing that grocery store skinless junk most places serve today. I was glad to see they had good quality thick bacon as well as several sausage choices for breakfast.

The menu is pretty large with everything from sandwiches to pizza and tacos. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and some carne asada tacos. The tacos were amazing and their pico de gallo was very tasty. The pizza was a good size for the price. This place is great. The food is tasty l, the beer is cold, and the seats are comfortable. It is spacious inside with large tables and a friendly, welcoming staff. I had a margarita with my lunch; only one though because I was driving. It wasn't strong but was tasty enough. The beers are mostly domestic with only one micro brew selection but there were plenty of national brand choices. The food was home made and not bad for bar food. I had a Pittsburgh cheese steak sandwich that I thought was good. I ordered it with a side salad instead of fries as I had also ordered the loaded Pastrami fries which came with cheese, pickles and mustard on top. It was a bit too rich and heavy for my taste and the flavors didn't really work well together. Maybe without the mustard I would have liked it more. Not a bad place for a rest stop or a reasonable local hang out as well with some decent food.

I told her it was a first date and I was aiming to make it count. She didn't hide behind policy; she leaned in and helped me anyway. She went the extra mile and noted a table near the fireplace. That kind of touch means something. It's rare to find someone who helps set the stage for your evening before you even walk through the door. Laynee, you made a cowboy believe in smooth first dates again. If the steaks and service inside match the care you showed on that call, Steve's is doing things right... and I just might have a shot at that second date. Thank you.

The adult plate for the steak ends turned out to be as small as the kid's serving. We ordered "seasoned vegetables" as a side and it turns out that's just heated green beans probably from a can. The fruit side for the kids was also just canned mandarin wedges. The kicker is the entitlement to a 20% tip and the false claim that it was somehow a new mandated minimum, almost alluding or implying that it was a law or regulation. I tipped the 20% because I felt pressured to do so, which I regret. I usually tip 20% if service is good since I had friends and family in the restaurant service industry. But not being given an option and the entitlement mindset is off putting. Building is nice though...
