Ideal Dental as a business is very messy and disorganized. Please stay away from any of their locations. I had my gum graft done by Dr. Kulkarni a couple months ago at the South Lamar location. Dr. Kulkarni was okay as a periodontist and answered my questions as I came up with them. The procedure itself was quite painful and no one communicated to me that I would have a needle with local anesthesia stuck into my mouth about 15 times (and I could feel it every time). After the procedure was over, I went to discuss billing. I was being billed roughly $2200 for my gum graft for my bottom left and top left gums, and that's after insurance covered ~$1700-$1800. The next morning at around 5 am, my mouth started bleeding nonstop. I tried to stop the bleeding with 3 different gauzes in 30 minute intervals, but nothing worked so I decided to call the office. The office was closed, so I figured I would try to last until the office opened up and go there in person. I went to the Ideal Round Rock location in person, and I had to have my partner drive me while I held a plastic bag that pooled my blood. I arrived at the location, and the front desk immediately told me to go to the emergency room. They said they contacted Dr. Kulkarni so that he was aware of what happened, and I ended up going to the ER. By the time I got to the ER, I had lost over a liter of blood and was feeling a bit lightheaded. The ER doctor (who didn't even know what a gum graft was) treated my hemorrhage with a gauze and a coagulating agent after determining the source of the bleeding. He tried to reach Dr. Kulkarni, but could only get in contact with the office manager. She okayed the proposed procedure. After a couple attempts to stop the hemorrhage, the bleeding finally stopped. Eventually I went home and was billed $600-$800 for the ER visit. Dr. Kulkarni finally called me back around noon saying that I shouldn't have gone to the ER, which is ridiculous because the clinic literally told me to go to the ER. Right now, I'm asking for reimbursement of my ER fees and a refund or partial refund of the treatment, but Ideal Dental has not given me any response even though it's been almost 3 weeks since I had brought up the case and they said they would respond in 7-10 business days. Ideal Dental needs to have an on-call dentist in case emergencies like this happen again. They also need to train their staff (including front desk) better so that they're on the same page with communication. The business is incredibly sloppy and I would never recommend going here, because they don't care about your well-being, and they just want your money. TLDR: please go somewhere else if you value your health. read more

i'm being generous for rating it at 1 because the dentist that took care of me is nice. unfortunately, their stupid scheduling administration is not working. when i get scheduled of an appointment, i put it in my calendar. well apparently, if you don't confirm two days before, your appointment will be cancelled. for the record, we did not receive any confirmation text. it could be a technical glitch- i don't know but this is a stupid policy and this is the first time i'm hearing this kind of scheduling in a healthcare clinic. now, i did say our phones were broken and we've been only able to receive a replacement phone a day before my appointment, still i would have received any text missed but we haven't. i already made arrangements at my work to make this schedule work and i have already put this on my calendar yet they cancelled it because we did not receive a text and i wasn't able to confirm?! this is disorganized and disrespectful to my time/schedule being the patient. read more

[En español abajo] Warning: This has been the worst experience in my life at a dentist's office. In short, I ended up losing a tooth and this clinic denied responsibility. I didn't have any pain when I visited them for the first time to replace an old crown. But from the moment the dentist Mr. Kevin Kim treated me, I had pain. Kim told me it would go away and placed the permanent crown. But it didn't go away and he ended up telling me to visit a specialist (note: if you need an endodontics specialist, this clinic admits it doesn't have them). This clinic failed to solve the problem it had caused, and its office staff treated me with indifference and little empathy. I spent months without being able to chew with the right side of my mouth. My current doctor couldn't see the root of the problem in the X rays because the crown Kim had placed blocked the view of what was happening underneath. It wasn't until the crown was removed that I learned that my tooth was fractured. The crown was covering the fracture. My doctor had to remove the pieces of what remained of my broken tooth. I lost my tooth and had to pay $6,000 for an implant. The clinic thinks we're even because they reimbursed me for the cost of the crown. But the implant I ended up paying for was much more expensive than the crown I initially went for. They didn't assume responsibility because they said the crown looked just fine in the X rays. But they can't explain why I went into their clinic without pain and left with pain that lasted for months and led to the loss of my tooth. So who pays for those months of pain and the tooth I lost? Before being treated by Kim or this clinic ask yourself: How much is a tooth worth to you? ***** Advertencia: Esta ha sido la peor experiencia de mi vida en un consultorio dental. Sept 28 update: I am submitting a final review of this office and wish to re-establish a rating of 4 stars. It took 7 months for the healing but the gums and upper palate were reviewed by another periodontist and the prior work has been satisfactorily completed. Healing was normal and full feeling in the palate should ultimately be recovered, perhaps in year. The earlier comments about the expectations prior to visit were the only thing holding this review from 5 stars. read more

This place rescheduled my appointment the day before, but when I showed up, they sat me in a chair and said someone would be in to do my cleaning soon. An hour later, no one showed up, no one came to apologize for the delay, not a word from anyone. And this was by no means the first and only time they were unreasonably delayed. So I left. They did not call to apologize or follow up in any way. But they did bill my insurance for the service they never provided. Insurance fraud much??? I had to make them withdraw the claim. Even when they did provide service, it was never good enough to recommend. My son had his braces done here and our new dentist said they left A LOT of cement on my son's teeth when they removed his braces. The staff are wonderful!! Everything is super clean, very professional and always a fun environment to be in. I was very satisfied with my care! The front desk associates made me feel very welcomed and the communication was exquisite, just like the dental work I got! I enjoy being at the dentist, it very relaxing, pain free and comfortable. The doctor was very gentle while working in my mouth and they did not ask me life questions while working in my mouth at the same time! (Prefect, no awkwardness!) This was the first dentist I had gone to in 26 years. I absolutely hate going to the dentist! Everyone made me feel so at ease and took great care of me. Dr. Dawson and her team are amazing! They're all so friendly and really make you feel welcomed. Dr. Dawson is incredibly gentle, compassionate, and patient. She will check in with you throughout your dental procedure to make sure you're still comfortable which is nice. Other dentist offices I've been to will rush you out of the door because they're too busy, but Dr. Dawson and her team take their time to make sure you're well taken care of! read more

UPDATE: My son had all four of his tonsils pulled out and Dr Chiu and his crew were amazing. He was in and out in less than an hour. His face was not even swollen even as the days went by. Dr Chiu also called my son the next day to see how he was doing. Made another appointment for braces here and this team was awesome as well. Cannot recommend this place enough. I visited this office after experiencing some gum pain and they recommended a deep cleaning as a possible solution and did extensive x-rays which would not be covered by my insurance. I was hoping it would solve the problem I was facing so I agreed. I was initially satisfied with the results but the issue I experienced was not solved by the deep cleaning and reoccurred later as expected. I mentioned this at the time and they assured me this was the solution but really I needed the old crown removed, they just got me to pay for a service they provided that wouldn't solve my problem. In addition the billing has exposed them as being dishonest in their claims process. 6 months after the procedure I got a surprise bill for an additional amount of money which was beyond what my insurance contracted to pay them. I would recommend you avoid this dentist to avoid toothaches and headaches. read more

Two times brush 32 Round Rock charged me in advance for work done. Two times they owed me money after my insurance paid. To this date they have not paid me MY money back for the second occasion after I have called and emailed several times. It's completely annoying when you have to beg for your own money back! Do the RIGHT thing people! It's not rocket science to pay back your customers when you obviously owe them money! My family and I will NOT be returning to this dental office! Be warned all. This dentist office is completely unprofessional. My husband's appointment was booked for April 7th weeks in advance and they had to call and reschedule him the day before on April 6th. We were patient and agreed, even though we had already made arrangements with our employers in order to make it to this appointment. We rescheduled for the 17th of April, to which they called us AGAIN on the 16th, THE DAY BEFORE, to reschedule our appointment!! Completely unacceptable I'm almost grateful they were so horrible because now we won't have to be dealing with this company anymore. read more

I love Brush32. I have been going to Dr. Stella for over 20 yrs in Round Rock and I have nothing but praise for her skills, her chair side manner and her wonderful staff. One of her assistants, Shannon, has been with her for the entire time - that says something about the atmosphere she creates, which you can feel as a patient. I have referred countless people here and with the ones I have regular contact, they have all reported back to me nothing but gratitude for having referred them to Brush 32. Dr Cheng and his staff are wonderful. I had a cracked tooth and I was able to get immediate help. They were patient, kind and offered options for treatment instead of doing a one size fits all root canal. I may see a root canal in my future and I definately go back to Dr Cheng. AND they offer a payment plan that doesn't require a credit check or interest. You can split the payment into two payments!! More than happy with this dentist. read more

Dr. Stella Caballeros is as nice a dentist as you can get. She is very experienced and talented with her dental procedures. Odette in the front office is sweet and helpful. I have found all of her dental hygienists to be knowledgable and thorough with their cleanings. I like how they will distract a patient during an oral injection by gently squeezing your arm or shoulder. Very well run practice that I cannot wait to return to when the need arises. Have gone in the past and it was great but there was different front staff at the time, when i went there a couple weeks ago it was horrible i had a consultation to get my 4 wisdom teeth removed and they were gonna give me a referral to another office that can do them for me since their location couldn't, they told me the dentist either had a opening this weekend or a month from now i was in horrible pain couldn't barely eat and talk the back of my gums were red and swollen. I was told i had to come in to sign some papers and call my insurance when i first got there i called my insurance and the lady went to the back i believe her name was jasmine? and i could hear her talking all loud laughing with other people in the back having me wait in the front for over 30 mins. Very un professional I left with them saying they'll make their calls back to my insurance and the other location and they never made that call to the other office for me. i would call everyday sometimes twice a day to get seen that weekend so i wouldn't have to wait a month to get them removed but they cept on saying " yeah were working on it" " yeah we'll call you back " " yeah we'll call them right now " " their going to call you right now " all this bs when they cept on promising it even though i was in pain. Last time i spoke to them i called once again and they started laughing when i called and they answered. It's like they didn't even care and thought what i had to say was a complete joke! I was in severe pain so I searched yelp for dentists in my area. I came across Brush 32 (Cedar Park location) which had great reviews. I called friday morning and explained my situation. I was told they had an emergency exam special that included x rays for 32 dollars. It seemed like a great evaluation price. When I explained the pain I was in they said they could fit me in 2 hours later at there Round Rock location. When I arrived I was asked to fill out some paperwork. While being stared down by the receptionist I filled out my paperwork. I began looking around the place..... It is a very minimalist sterile concrete space that is not warm or inviting. For someone who is nervous while at a dentists office, it did not offer me any comfort. It appeared "IKEA" cheap and a little worn when carefully scanning my surroundings. I was called into the back by the nurse which ended up being just a few steps behind a door. This room was filled with open dentist cubicles sort of like a Emergency room setup. I could see another patient waiting while I took my seat upon this coffin sized lounge bed thing. After the usual blood pressure test procedure,I explained to the nurse my reason for the visit. She began to set me up for x-rays. She had to explain to the dentist about having to take 2 x-rays even though the special only covered one. I guess the dentist was having a tizzy about it. After the x-rays the dentist came in to explain my options about tooth extraction to take care of my pain. I was given some referrals for oral surgeons in the area. I had read in reviews about payment plan options but all I was offered was the option of applying for a credit card. I wanted a prescription for pain medication cause I am in constant pain. I told them I am allergic to Vicodin so I suggested an alternative, to which the dentist was adamant on 800 mg of ibuprofen. I guess she did not have any knowledge of other medications besides Vicodin?!?!? I thought this was unnecessary since I can take that at home. I ended up leaving shortly after since the visit was over. This ordeal however led to hours later in the day of calling them repeatedly to convince them to send a script to my local HEB. My low rating for this place is an accumulation of: a non comforting first time visit, an overall treatment of someone with a tight financial budget, a feeling that not much was accomplished by the visit, and the lack of knowledge by the staff on hand. read more

Have been afraid to go back to the dentist for years. Due to a medical condition, it required I go and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was this time. I ended up needed a deep cleaning (which was what I was afraid of) but the dentist and the hygienist ensured that I was not going to feel the pain I was afraid of. They were great. Even the office staff was great with working with my difficult scheduling issues. And today, my daughter who has also had bad experiences, is good with going. It's a very simple office, no frills. But I'd rather get great service than fancy offices. read more

I came to this dentist because I was interested in Invisaline, and it had been a while since I had been to a dentist. I explained to the dentist and her assistant that I had a very intense fear of dentist, so the less they did was better. The decided to take pictures of my teeth (unnecessary) and allowed someone in training to do my x-rays so they had to do them three times. I was horrified through the whole thing. Then they quoted me like a thousand dollars more for Invisaline than another dentist. I explained if I was going to come back for a cleaning and filling they were going to have to do something to help manage my anxiety and they said they did not have anything to help me. I will not return, because they are completely oblivious to their patients needs. Now they WILL NOT stop calling me. I wish I had never gone in. I have waited years to be able to afford a straight smile. Brush 32 was running a special on Groupon, and they had good reviews, so I decided to check them out. The office is pristine, and they have the latest and greatest technology in the back. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. I went for my initial consultation, and found out what kind of pricing the invisalign would be. A few months later, I had some money saved up, and a new dental insurance policy that I understood to have outstanding coverage. I called to set up an appointment, and as it turned out, they had an opening that day. I went in, excited that this was finally happening, and was crushed when it turned out my insurance wasn't going to cover as much as I thought it would. I was about to leave disappointed, but they did everything they could to make sure that didn't happen. Instead they took the time to work with me, and figure out the best option to afford the cost. Because of that, instead of walking out the door, heartbroken that I would still continue to suffer through imperfect teeth, they were able to get me back, and get me started on the process. This is hands down the best no-nonsense facility around. I spent a lot of time trying to find a dentist that would not see me as a walking checkbook, and these guys are it. They are the full package- clean, friendly, helpful, and truly have the clients' best interest in mind. read more

Had a front tooth breaking clean off several weeks ago. Went to Brush32, and twice they tried to fix it with a new "revolutionary" method. Both times it failed. Third time it had been agreed (over the phone) that next step would be a root canal. Not a great fan of such procedures, but consented to it. However, when showing up at the office, they let me wait for an agonizing hour plus some more, since the dentist (whose name shall not be mentioned, but shame on her!) had begun to balk at the idea of a root canal, and instead wanted to push for a far more invasive (and costlier!) extraction! Finally, when I grew tired (being late in the afternoon too), and confronted the staff about their previous agreement, that they were now walking away from, they basically threw my already paid money in my face and refused any more service. They basically threw a hizzy about this! I walked out and, a little later found a dentist who fixed my tooth on my very birthday, and I am smiling, but no thanks to the incompetents at Brush32. Whatever you do, avoid this place like a plague! They're nincompoops all of them, only interested in your money! They're smiling when you walk out - another sucker for their shady business! Every time I go there, there seems to be a different problem with my teeth and it requires some kind of up charge. After the last filling I decided to find a new dentist. I had severe migraines for 2 months after my procedure. I thought it was a coincidence the first time but the second and third time I realized it wasn't. While getting my last filling, the dentist was jerking my head around and didn't give me enough medicine to numb the area. Super painful for what was supposed to be an easy procedure. I went through my insurance and found out 6 months later I still owed them money. I found out by them threatening to take me to a collection agency. Find somewhere else. read more

I made an appointment for my son before school started for his cleaning. He needed a bit more than a regular cleaning and we talked him into going to the appointment without nitrous, he is terrified of dentists. My husband took off work early that day and when they showed up for the appt he was told they would squeeze him in, he was 1/2 hour late for the appt. HE WAS NOT, I had the text to prove what time my son was scheduled. He waited 1 hour and left. The reason I am still giving them 4 stars is because of Tonya, the office manager. I was VERY angry and pretty set on finding another dentist for my son. She asked me to please give them a chance to make it right. She did EVERYTHING to make it right. She apologized profusely for the mix up. My concern was getting my son to go back and do the appt without the use of nitrous... ins doesn't cover that. Tonya waived the nitrous fee and made sure his appt went smoothly with no hiccups. The dentist and the hygienist were great! I will continue to use them for my sons dental care. My son was very comfortable and at ease with the staff and the procedure. It just goes to show most deserve a second chance to make things right! And Brush32 in Round Rock did just that. read more

I am writing this review a few months after my visit there. I want to start by saying, this is the worst dentist office that I have ever been too! I called and scheduled an appt for my mother to have her teeth cleaned and to have her veneers cemented back on after cleaning, they quoted me over the phone for everything, at least they said it wouldn't exceed the amount of $300.00. Well after getting the teeth cleaned, they had so many people come in there one by one from the staff to say something different because they knew I was gonna be pissed about the financial part. Keep in mind I was asking the so called dentist what's going on with my mothers work, and she ignored me. So then she sends the financial advisor to talk to me and brings me a bill for almost $2000.00. I was so upset because it looked like they are used to this, scamming people! I raised my voice a little because I was pissed and she says for me to keep it down because they don't want to scare others patients, what about me??? I was scammed into their lies and I was SCARED too!!! I asked to speak to the dentist again and she didn't want to come back to talk to me. They are liars and will not be in business long! Ohhhhh and they said that they can't even guarantee the work for the $2000.00. Also at some point I was even willing to pay half because I needed the work done but it kept getting worse and uncomfortable so I called everything off and left. I went to walmart and got cement and cemented my mothers teeth back on for her and they are still on months later! They said after they would cement them, it will probably only last a few weeks. They do not care about their patients. You don't feel like they do at all at any point of your visit, especially from the dentist herself. I take that back, the dental hygienist was very sweet and helpful. She knew what the office was doing because she couldn't face us. She apologized a lot for what they did. This definitely looked like it's done often. I guess they have too take your money, there are at least 6 employees just sitting at the front desk doing absolutely NOTHING.
