I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with this business was so terrible that I feel obligated to warn others. My mother-in-law originally purchased a custom glass top for a coffee table here, but the measurements were incorrect and the glass did not fit properly. To fix the issue, I brought both the table and the glass back to the store so they could measure everything correctly and recut the glass. The owner, Dan, told me he was not completely certain whether the glass was tempered, but believed it was not and decided to proceed with cutting it anyway. During the process, their machine broke down, so I had to leave the table and glass there until they repaired it. Dan quoted me $10 for the job. Two days later, I received a call saying the glass had shattered during the cutting process and that I would need to pay $124 for a replacement. I explained that I did not believe I should be responsible for replacing the glass since they had inspected it, determined it was likely not tempered, and chose to proceed with the cut. At that point, the conversation became extremely hostile. Dan became very aggressive, insulted me repeatedly, and told me he "didn't give a f***" about me or my glass. He then threatened to throw my coffee table in the trash "if did not f***ing pick it up by the end of the day". What shocked me most was not the broken glass, but the way I was treated as a customer. I remained calm throughout the conversation and genuinely tried to resolve the situation reasonably, but I was met with outrageous profanity, insults, and threats instead. My belated review is about my personal experience in January 2024. I wanted plain, clear glass cut into four (4) strips or panels [4.5" X 22 " wide] to lay across my aquarium, instead of the original, black plastic hood. The purpose was to allow both 'natural light' and 'artificial light from an overhead lamp' to shine through. I chose " thick glass, since that was the depth of the ledges that would support the glass and leave me with a 'flush surface'. What was this going to cost me? I went online and read several YELP reviews on various glass shops. I believe in supporting local businesses, so I drove to nearby IDEAL Glass and Mirror and met Ruby. She was kind and professional, just like other Yelpers described. I didn't get a quote on the spot, since the boss was out on a job. She promised to call me later with a price, when he returned. Ruby did just that by calling later the same day, but the price was beyond my budget ($132). We talked and she suggested that I consider ¼" thick glass instead for my purposes. Since their shop was about to close, she'll call me tomorrow with another quote. Reliable Ruby did call and the cost dropped to $80 for the thinner glass. I did not give them the contract, since I wanted to conduct some price comparisons with other shops. FYI: From my research, I learned that IDEAL Glass and Mirror was the cheapest. Another local shop quoted $144 for " thick glass and $92 for ¼" thick glass. Dependable and reliable service is as important as the product itself. And, Ruby delivered. Thank you. Present Day: Upon further consideration, since the glass panels will not support any weight, I am leaning towards " thick glass (which is the same as your typical, single pane window). I highly recommend Ideal Glass and Mirror. Dan and Ruby are fantastic. I was in the market for a new Shower Door to replace my existing 49 year old shower door. The first place I went to told me they would remove the shower door and order a new one which would take 3 weeks. In the interim I would have a shower curtain which I needed to supply. Totally unacceptable. I then went to Ideal Glass and Mirror. Ruby was terrific. She showed me the various options and their price was better than the first place I visited. He told me he would first order the shower door. When it arrived he would remove it and the next door install the new shower door. It worked like a charm. In addition I ask Dan to install a new bathroom mirror and medicine cabinet and haul away my old bathroom mirror. He complied. His work was immaculate. I redid our bathroom in 2018 and the borderless, glass shower installation was fantastic. Over the years the shower has held up but had some wear and tear due to the presence of 3 little ones in the house slamming, hanging onto, and trying to destroy all of our things ;) I really appreciate Dan's follow through and responsiveness in treating me like "a customer for life." For the 2 minor issues I've needed since installation. The team is responsive and willing to come out and take a look at the problem ASAP. So today (a little later than I planned), I called Ideal Glass and I asked them if I could pay more than what I was billed for. I asked if I could throw in an additional $100 because I was so appreciative of the professionalism that Dan @ Ideal Glass & Mirror showed throughout our process. We had a bit of a horror story on the business side of it. Our custom 3-piece tempered shower glass door was almost fully installed when the final piece tapped the corner of the shower bench and the entire sheet of glass shattered. Dan cleaned it all up and said he would return in 1 week with a new piece of custom glass. After successfully installing the new glass everything looked perfect. I then did a thorough cleaning job like he recommended, and I noticed a tiny little chip in the glass just above head height. I was imagining that he would just come fill the hole with some special technique or some glass filler. Unfortunately, he confirmed a new piece of glass would be needed. I never paid a penny extra and I felt bad that he was then installing his 3rd piece of glass, pretty much wiping out any profit he would have made. He ended up having to create and install 3 separate pieces of custom glass, without uttering even a hint of frustration and made the entire process completely care free for me as the customer. So it took a little extra time, but the product is exactly what we hoped for, and from beginning to end Dan was a consummate professional and took ownership from start to finish. I felt his company deserved recognition as a place anyone would be happy to do business with due to the high level of customer service and impeccable product. read more

I called a competitor and they quoted me a ridiculous price for a piece of tempered glass. I broke the door on my Boa's enclosure and he got out and slithered into the bed. We noticed in the morning. I needed a custom glass to keep the big serpent in his own bed at night. IDEAL quoted me a price and then beat their own own estimate by $5! I reached out to Ideal glass for our first bathroom and it turned out great. We have a tub/shower combo and was hesitant in putting sliders thinking that it would look outdated. We spoke with Dan the owner and he showed us a more modern look of a slider, which is what we choose. I have this Italian walnut china cabinet with matching 12 person table with mirror inserts. The mirror on the extension and table top had broke (on accident) and we took it in for a quote. Apparently, it was a rare bronzey tinted mirror so the cost was high.
