Stay Away! This is a kiosk in the middle of the Alderwood Mall and I took my IPAD 4 in there because there was a small crack in the very corner of the screen. Strictly cosmetic. I spoke with the person "Zaib" (see pictures) and we agreed on 90.00 to replace the screen. I had him give me a card with his name, the details and the price. He said it would be 24 hours or so to fix it. We gave him 48 hours and called in advance to pick it up and make sure it was ready. When we called, he said the price had gone up to 150.00 and they had not done it. He really did not give a reason other than he gave us the wrong price. Mind you, we discussed price in depth and agreed upon 90.00. I said we would be there immediately to pick it up. Upon arriving there, I asked why he had agreed to a price and then not honored it. He proceeded to show us a text message from his boss, telling him that he could not honor the price. When I told him this was a typical bait and switch, he stated that would just say he could not get into the iPad - which you don't need to have in order to replace a screen - and was a lie. After seeing all the great reviews and low prices, I decided to come here to get my iPhone 7+ fixed. Things went well at first when I dropped off my phone and let the guys at the kiosk know that I had a groupon as well. I came back and my phone was ready. I was asked if I wanted a phone screen protector and I said yes, thinking that it was included in the repair. IT WAS NOT. By the time I figured this out, the screen protector had been applied and couldn't be refunded. It was an extra $25. They said it could be replaced for $9.99 once it wore down if I brought the original receipt back. I honestly felt pretty scammed because I can buy quality screen protectors on Amazon for half that price. When I mentioned the price difference between theirs and Amazon's, they said theirs is higher quality and that I wouldn't be able to put it on properly at home. That's for me to decide. It was said pretty condescendingly. I feel stupid for not asking if the screen protector was free or not, but make sure you do. When I let them know that they should let their customers know that there is a charge for it when asking, they got very defensive and said that other places charge over $30. That wasn't my point. The point was to be transparent with the pricing upfront. Another issue arose with the groupon deal. The original deal is a $30 voucher for $15. I presented this and they said that it would only cover 10%. On my receipt, it's marked as the yelp check in discount. I kept asking why the groupon's full $30 wasn't applied and they said that's just how it was. I told them that it's not right to keep the deal up on the page if it's not accurate and they said they were aware of it but couldn't do much about it. How does that make any sense? The business promoting the deal through groupon should be responsible for upholding it or take it off the site. I purchased it for no reason. I could've still gotten the yelp check in discount without purchasing the groupon. Now I'm having issues getting a refund because groupon makes it so difficult. BUT that's not the end of it. When I said I shouldn't have even purchased the groupon, the guys told me that they don't do discounts much anymore and that they did it for me. It says right on the yelp page that they offer the discount to anyone who checks in. I don't understand. All in all, my phone is fixed. However, I left in a bad mood due to the lack of transparency in pricing for the screen protector, the defensive manner in which they answered my questions, and the way the groupon deal was handled. read more

I messaged Raina to get a quote for our family's iPhone 4s which needed a new battery as well as our iPhone 4 which had issues with the mute button. I appreciate that she was very responsive and clear in her communication back to me. And better yet, the cost of replacing the battery through her shop was a much better deal compared to other cell phone repair shops out there. When I went in to drop off the phones today, her colleague Vasif was super helpful. He replaced the battery on the iPhone 4s in about 20 minutes. Additionally, he made time to explain what he thought was going on with the iPhone 4's mute button, tried a fix and also explained another scenario if his fix didn't take care of the issue. So he was able to troubleshoot the issue and didn't even charge me for it! I thought that was so kind and nice of him. I also appreciate that he told me to keep my receipt for a few days just in case and to come back if I had issues with the iPhone 4s and he would take care of it. Went here over the weekend because I thought I needed a new charging port for my Samsung S4. There was nobody at the kiosk on our first pass, so we shopped a little then returned, still nobody there. I got smart and called the number on her card. Using my brain! She answered and came running (literally) from somewhere in the mall. She plugged in my phone and said there was nothing wrong with my charging port and that I should try using a different cable. There was another woman there who wanted a screen replaced on her son's phone. She told her it would be too expensive, and then told her the cost of the part plus labor. So I was very impressed with her because she could have easily replaced the parts on these two phones and made some money, but she was honest and sent us on our way, me to use a different cable and the other lady to do who knows what. DO NOT GO HERE! I wish I'd never trusted this place to do a simple battery repair. Here are the facts: 1. My iPhone SE rapidly lost battery power, I only needed the battery replaced. 2. The man at the kiosk said my screen was broken, only the protector was broken, but he pealed it back to check and made it much worse! I asked him to replace it and he said he'd "only charge me $10 instead of $20." Gee, thanks. 3. When I returned 15 minutes later, the battery read 5%. I was to go home and charge it fully. 4. After charging for 1.5 hours, my phone was still at 5%...so I drove back out to the mall to have it fixed. 5. The same man swapped out several more batteries over the next hour, only to determine that my phone was no longer able to charge a battery BECAUSE HE BROKE IT! 6. I asked him to refund my money for the battery and he refused. So I paid this guy FIFTY BUCKS to break my phone! I can't think of worse service. 7. The broken charging port = not able to back up my data and absolutely everything was lost. My fault for not backing up before taking it in, but it's a huge loss. I couldn't back up the the cloud because the battery would die. The phone cycled off and on despite the battery level. 8. I took my phone to Apple, which I should have done from the start. The Genius said that it was likely a STATIC CHARGE that killed my phone, poor form for one who works on delicate electronics. There was nothing they could do at Apple to recover my data and wouldn't even consider doing work on the hardware after a third party had "worked" on it. 9. The battery he used at IDesign was too big for the space in my phone. The battery needs room to expand as it heats up and this battery could potentially destroy a phone with fire. Nobody wants that! PLEASE TAKE YOUR PHONE TO A REPUTABLE SHOP AND ALWAYS BACK IT UP FIRST! It's a hard lesson to learn to lose your data and invest in a new phone. You get what you pay for. I had a great first experience earlier last year and when my 4 year old's ipad screen got cracked a second time I had no problem going back. This time I also asked about a speaker replacement. Raina followed up and after a couple weeks told me she had the parts. She said I can come in anytime to get services done for $90. The following week after Christmas, I arranged through yelp messages to come in and that she is there to do it. I arrived half hour later to find she wasn't there and the man working didn't know why I was there. After explaining what I needed done, he said it would take about an hour. After 1 1/2 hours I checked in with him and he said he forgot to call me and charged me $60. I was confused and it was loud in the mall, so I just took his word the speaker was replaced. All in all, the reason for my review is that the ipad screen is half normal on the left and darker on the right side, which wasn't noticed until later. The speaker, although not blown anymore is less quality because it is hard to hear. I really like Raina. She was nice and followed up on trying to get what I need in parts, she told me she was there and then wasn't. It would have made me feel more comfortable if she had let the other employees know I was coming and what I needed done and the amount it was going to cost. read more
