The chips and salsa are always on point. Everything we have tried here is good. I love the tacos here, so lately that's been my go to. We have tried enchiladas, tamales, fajitas beef, chicken, and shrimp, also the mexican shrimp cocktail is delicious. This place is large with plenty of seating. It's located in downtown Sherman in an old historic building. Nothing fancy about this venue. Simple decor with a touch of their heritage. The chips and sala are not complimentary. A basket of chips and two small bowls of Salsa is $3.99. I like tortia chips that are thin and light. Tamales Lupe's chips are thick and heavy. The first basket they brought to the table was mostly crumbs. We also ordered Quacamole. It was excellent! For drinks we ordered a water and diet Dr. Pepper. The DP was flat. They do not serve alcoholic beverages. Another little annoyance is the salt served in little paper packets instead of being in skakers. My wife ordered pork tamales and they were excellent. I ordered a cheese Chili Releno and it was excellent. The rice seemed undercooked. The very young server provided below average service rating a 2. The entrees rate a 5 as does the quacamole. Throw in the issue with the chips and the flat DP I can't get higher than a 3 overall rating.
