The brake job was good. The price was reasonable. But when the brakes started squeaking a few months later, I took it back for them to look at. They said it was "dust" from the brakes. So, I left relieved. But, guess what? They left the "dust" on there and it kept squeaking! This is embarrassing!! If you're down there looking at it, wouldn't it occur to you to wipe off the dust??? Never again. Used to go here all the time for repair. Last year we brought our car here for repair and it came back with more damage. They literally broke the gear shift panel which has nothing to do with the repair we brought the car for. We called them so many times and they keep on telling us they are still waiting for the parts. More than a year now they haven't called us back. After waiting three hours in the waiting room (with an appointment) I was told it would be $2400 because they had to "completely overhaul the entire exhaust system." These guys are awesome!! Honest, fast and fair. They don't talk much but they actually show you what needs to be repaired. I took my Hyundai to repair the exhaust system. They replaced the converter, costed me 212 $ tax included, my car was ready in 1 hr. The day before I got an estimate for the same repair do 1700 $ + tax at Hyundai O'hare. I came in for a quote because my car was making roaring noises when I turned it on and when I pressed the gas. They said it would take 1.5 hours to take a look or to come back at 8am the next day because there are less people at that time. I said I'll leave it and to give me a call back. They called me back saying the exhaust pipe and muffler has to be replaced and that it would cost about $470 for everything. On top of that, they were rude on the phone and in person. Since that's a lot of money, I wanted another opinion. I went to another muffler shop on Laramie and the mechanic showed me underneath the car where the piece was making noise and found that it was a rusted piece that came loose and was shaking. They attached it back for free for me. I didn't have cash on me so I offered him a Dunkin Donuts gift card and he wouldn't take it. Ok, I am a college student with a 2001 used car. As long as the car has safe wheels and breaks, I am fine for the temporary fix and appreciative that I didn't over pay those scum bags to rip me off. read more

Bad service, and they tried ripping me off like crazy. I can't believe this place has such good reviews.. I walked in expecting great service since it seems like a reputable place and has been there for a while.. But boy was I wrong. First off I walk in greet both guys in the office with a hello and both just ignore me.. One guy seemed like the owner and the other was prob a worker.. After the guy got off the phone, he took his time to walk up to me and ask me what I needed done.. Pretty much acted like I wasn't even there.. So he walks up to the counter and I try to greet him again.. I ask him how's it goin, he simple mumbles something.. Lol. What a greeting?! So they get my car up on the lift to check out what I need done, I simply needed a 4" piece of exhaust piping replaced and welded, he tells me I need to replace like 3 feet of exhaust piping and quotes me 400 dollars!! Lmaoooo. I guess I'm going back to Ace Muffler who quoted me 80 bucks!! Wow. I'm shocked they would try to rip me off that much.. My family has been going to Iggy's for years! They are amazing. As a female I have a hard time trusting what Mechanics tell me however with Iggy's I never question. They are always honest and fare! My husband had a rubbing noise on his tire and Iggy's looked at it and it was just a rubber washer out of place. They fixed it with no charge! As previous reviewer noted they're definitely not in the business of accommodating their customers. They are busy only because they savor every job and customer patience to the limits. The chrome plated mufflers on the display are rusted so it bods ill for your regular muffler too. But if you want to get a shaft this is definitely the place to go. read more

I was having issues with my exhaust system and wasn't quite sure where I should take my car. I live near Norridge and did a Google/Yelp search and these guys had the best rating. Long story short-I can understand why. I walked in at 9:00 a.m. and was on my way by 11:00 a.m. with my Corolla all fixed up and back to normal. They are not "conversational", nor did I need them to be. I was there to get my car fixed, not to have a coffee clutch! They are no-nonsense/get the job done guys with very reasonable prices. I hope I won't have to return any time soon, but if I do, I feel I can trust them. Also, I have been driving past this place for years and thought it was a salvage yard!!!
