Pork Tenderloin with pickles and onions

I've been going to the Igloo for the past 40 years and it's a true gem! Service is great and fast ! I've loved the pork tenderloin sandwiches for as long as I can remember. Hoping that I will continue visiting the igloo for the next 40 years!!

Amazing service, treats every customer like they are a food critic. Made sure everything was perfect, extremely fast service, outstanding quality! The owner even introduced himself to me and waited on me. A must "go-to" if you are in the area. They are definitely on my "Top" list for the area.

My parents went here on their honeymoon. Back then, they had car hops who brought food to their car. I love places like these that are steeped in history. I had the root beer (delicious!) and the tenderloin. I love that my root beer came in a real frosty glass and that my sandwich was wrapped in paper and stuck with a toothpick. Simple. The tenderloin was delicious. Maybe it's because I haven't had one in years, but the Igloo tenderloin just might be my new favorite food. We also shared a plate of fries. They seemed to be hand-cut (not sure) and they were tasty. Everyone inside was super-nice and I love the maps on the wall where you can pin your hometown. People from all over have eaten here! I'm already planning a trip back to central Illinois just to visit the Igloo!

Pretty standard diner fare. Cute 1950s furniture, pies a-la-mode, burgers and chili cheese fries.

Igloo House is a Peru Illinois favorite among the local community. I wish there were more food options but going with local eateries is always worth a shot. The overall atmosphere matched that of both the warm community and a family owned diner. I came here on a recommendation and left very pleased. The food tasted so fresh and probably the healthiest greasy food that I have ever had. The pork tenderloin and the fries were perfectly cooked and I enjoyed how crispy each fry was made. A little birdie told me that they make most, if not all, of their food from scratch, so the fries were freshly cut! My only feedback for this place is that there should be more sauce options for the pork tenderloin As a tip, you can get immediate service sitting by the stool area. I did not try the root beer, but heard only positive feedback from my dining mate. Also, they make their own flavored soda (cherry 7up). Overall, I would recommend this place. The prices are affordable and I can vouch for this place that they do make a pretty mean pork tenderloin.

I like this place but it's ridiculous when you crave their grilled cheese and fries and their CLOSED! It's a shame. Just frustrating!!

The Igloo has always been the place to go for a pork (pork tenderloin sandwich), hand cut fries and chocolate malt - a trifecta of delights.

First, ordering on the app is a joke, as their are no options for extra condiments, nor can you order soup, even though it's offered in the store, so I called them to see if they had soup. The lady that I spoke to was native speaking and informed me that I could order soup on the app or come in and get it, and that their soup today was broccoli and cheddar, my favorite, so I ended up going to the store so that I could get my soup on this 0 degree day, and was told by a guy that they don't start serving soup until 2 pm. I was baffled because I just spoke to a lady less than 30 minutes ago who told me that they did have broccoli and cheddar soup however, this was not true so I ended up waiting an additional 10 minutes so that they could make my soup and received chicken noodle, which was fine, until I got back to work and realized they only gave me chicken broth and veggies. Second, Upon ordering my sandwich, I asked for them to toast my meat and cheese together since I don't prefer crispy bread. They told me no, so I got a cold sandwich which has never happened in the 15+ years that I have been dining at Subway. Third, upon finalizing my order I was asked if id like to make it a meal, and I said yes, a large please. When I was handed a medium sized drink, I asked why I couldn't get the large and I was informed that I was allowed to do that for a fee, so if I wanted a large cup, I had to pay extra. When I opted for a Gatorade to be included with my other "meal" I was also charged extra. Lastly, I ordered a meal, which comes with chips and a drink but I had to pay for my drink separately because i was told only the small cup for a drink is all you can have with your meal regardless or what the posted menu states

My issue is when…read moreyou order on the Subway app or off of DoorDash there is no option to ask for extra mayonnaise on your sandwich. It states the Peru Subway does not offer that option. WHAT!!! How hard is it to put extra mayonnaise on a sandwich? They need to add this option to these apps!
