Only because I'm from the Chi and have had better, this place is pretty good. The drinks was strong and the food was tasty. With a party of 15 we had a little of everything. Clam strips, onion rings, chicken wings, hush puppies, clam bisque,shrimp, scallops, crab legs, cheese burger, fish, shrimp Alfredo, and steak. I may be leaving something out. Iguana's was recommended by the clerk at our hotel. She was so right! My wife ordered the fried Haddock with a baked potato. The fish was delicately breaded and cooked to perfection and the potato was delicious. My wife is Irish and a potato expert. She said it was very fresh and delicious. I had the crab legs, which is one of my favorite meals. The crab was fresh and sweet and not overcooked like I find in most restaurants, Our waitress was a gem and gave us tremendous service. This is clearly an attraction for tourists but fun if you know what to expect. It is pricey for the quantity and quality of the food. The mahi mahi was dry/ overcooked and too salty, as were the scallops. The crab bisque was delicious, as were the pina coladas. The service was good and it appeared to be the manager or owner who stopped by our table to ask about our experience. The servers sing "happy birthday" to celebrate with folks on their special day. We were recently down in this area for a wedding. Our toddler was cooped up for several days and we wanted to get out and explore. There's a little water park nearby that we were having a lot of fun at and then a rainstorm came. We decided to wait it out by finding a place to grab a quick bite to eat. That's how we stumbled onto Iguana's. Much like other reviews have stated, the shrimp. Definitely something special! We ordered a sampler - the fried shrimp fantastic, the coconut shrimp excellent, and bacon wrapped shrimp was seriously one of the most delicious things I have eaten. My partner also said the buffalo shrimp was great (not my style so he ate them all). He also ordered the clam poboy. As a chef he commented, "this is how you do up a poboy right!" We also sampled the cocktails. My partner had a cocktail that was the special of the day - some sort of blueberry concoction. It was delicious. I ordered the one that had vodka, rum, pineapple juice. Very simple but also delicious. The waitstaff was absolutely fantastic. Our waitress was just adorable, she helped us so much with our toddler and didn't get frustrated with us when he threw things on the floor. Overall this is a fantastic experience for us. I understand that other reviews are looking at this more as a touristy kind of place but since we were in the area to be tourists it was absolutely what we were looking for. read more

Seems like a tourist spot that may get lots of business because of location. Couldn't really say much about the food. I packed most of it. It was just ok. The appetizer was good, we ordered shrimp. The wait here was not long however we did go past 8 pm. We chose to sat at the bar. The bartender was personable and carried on good conversation while we dined. He was attentive and even told jokes. We didn't have any appetizers as we had them elsewhere as we were perusing this area. I chose chicken as my main dish as I had seafood almost every meal this business trip and I was over it. I chose Caribbean glazed chicken with sauce on the side. I am glad I got the glaze on the side as it was really really sweet. The chicken was a tad over cooked which dried it out. The green beans though were some of the best I have ever eaten. Broccoli is broccoli, throw enough butter and garlic on it and almost anyone will eat it I am glad the bartender let us know there was an ice cream machine around the corner. It had a more toppings to choose from than I anticipated. Oreos, gummy worms, sprinkles, peanut butter, hot chocolate syrup among other things. I don't usually add peanut butter to ice cream but I did that evening and O M G!!! It was amazing. The bartender told us the secret....it is Reese's peanut butter. The only other draw back to this place was the bathrooms were pretty gross. Fly traps around the toilet. That isn't a good look at a restaurant. At any rate, next time I just wouldn't go in there. I visited this place on a Friday night and it wasn't to pack so we got to seat right away. The waiter was very attentive, and great with recommendations. Everything we got was delicious. The fish and grits were made to perfection. The sample platter, everything was good. My favorite was the blackened scallops. That was the highlight of all the meals. Got our text to come back and seated immediately. Passed by 4 wait staff. After 10 mins we got attention of a waiter. Cameron did his best. Took our order. Got drinks in an ok time. Cameron came back several times and tried to over understanding and patients. 50 minutes later we got our food. I am sorry but this food was a joke!!!! I drove 3 hrs for seafood. This place seems like it would be a tourist trap but I had heard and seen positive things about it, and so we decided to try it out after a long day at the beach. It was early,4:30, so there were a few lone drinkers, a family, and an elderly group ( so cute) when we arrived. The hostess and waitress were both very friendly and sweet. We ordered our food and a beer and waited maybe 10 mins for our HUGE dinners to arrive. While I wouldn't say my salad was anything special at all ( it was mainly romaine with a couple cherry tomatoes and some huge slices of white onion), the Grouper I ordered with it was OUTSTANDING! My hubs and dad had the two choice plate which comes with puppies and two sides; crab cake ( bomb, more crab than cake just like the menu says) and fried clams ( huge and delicious ) pasta salad and slaw was my mans dinner of choice, and for my dad he had the blackened shrimp and flounder ( sooooo tasty not too blackened just the right flavor ) with puppies, slaw and THESE F-ING AWESOME GREEN BEANS OH MY-LANTA THEY WERE SO FRESH AND GREEN AND COOKED PERFECTLY! I would FOR SURE GET THE GREEN BEANS no questions asked!!! Prices are reasonable considering it's seafood and good portions and... wait for it.... FREE soft serve ice cream bar????? I mean.... what??? Have you even ever heard of that??? Not only could you chose your standard vanilla, choc, or mix.... lemme break this down for you... 1. Cup or bowl 2. Hot fudge or peanut butter sauce 3. Toppings... gummies, sprinkles, peanuts, Oreos... 4. Nobody ever said anything about seconds???? While I don't eat dairy and I would say the hubs and dad DID NOT, I repeat, DID NOT take full advantage of their opportunities here.... I am just blown away with the free-ness of it all. AMAZING FOOD However, they are not taking COVID very seriously. My family sat outside, and we saw maybe 5 people walk into the actual sit in part of the restaurant with no mask. The staff doesn't have it over their nose sometimes. Very nice staff however. And they have complimentary ice cream! A setback with that is the toppings are set out uncovered inside where people have no masks on. Very good though. I would come when covid is not bad!! read more
