Took a party of 16 in with no reservation. They were polite enough to accommodate such an ask. Baylie, the host, went out of her way to set everything up! Then once we set down, I believe the young lady who took care of us was Ki-Ana? She was a really sweet girl and very attentive! Also had a couple of other ladies check in with me and the party! The ladies names were Micheal or Micheala (we were loud LOL). The food was TOP TIER!!! I had the Salmon pasta and man oh man.... It was "chefs kiss" the rest of the group did not have one complainant about anything! Katie (The wonderful manager) and Carter (the generous GM) made sure everything went perfectly!!! Stopped in for a well needed happy hour since it was close by. My wife ordered a $6 HH glass of wine and I ordered an old-fashioned with well bourbon, which was old Forrester. There was a $3 up charge for the OF on top of the $6 well bourbon. We then ordered a few items off the happy hour menu, including the duck egg roll (good), shrimp dip (just ok) blackened chicken nachos (good) and a dozen oysters on a half shell (very good). The oysters were very nice and everything else was fine. I might pass on the shrimp dip next time as it was a cold dip and just OK served with some regular crackers. I also ordered a bowl of gumbo, which was hot and very tasty. Overall, we were satisfied and I recommend trying i this place. The happy hour is decent and it's situated at the Marina. read more

Five of us went to what used to be Emaline &Hessies years ago. It seemed a bit smaller than remembered, though the bat area was substantial. We got a coveted table by the window with a view of the water, boats and the sunset. We started with an order of oysters, which looked amazing. I was definitely tempted, although I've recently sworn off oysters. Three of our group ordered redfish, two low country style and one Asian influenced. Another ordered a shrimp and scallop pasta that had andouille sausage and sounded New Orleans style. My own order was the scallops with sweet pea risotto over arugula. I absolutely moved mine. The risotto was so creamy and delicious. The scallops were perfectly seared and amazing. It was melt in your mouth great. Every single one of us was raving that it was the best seafood meal they'd had in ages. So I am jealous of my two friends who actually live in SSI and can come back again. This restaurant is located on the marina. My meal started well with delicious calamari. I ordered the fried shrimp for lunch. What I got was 6 tiny pieces of frozen/fried shrimp that was overcooked. Renesha took care of us giving friendly and attentive service ,and she even brought out the yummiest butter pecan pie with a lit candle for our birthday girl. We found this place on Yelp and came here to try on our first night in Brunswick. Overall I was disappointed by the food but the service and everything else was great though. First of all, when you made a turn into here, it is right on your left, don't go too far otherwise you will have to turn around. Food: the only good thing was the oyster! Fresh and so yummy, full of flavor. Otherwise, everything else was very salty! We got the steamed clams, a salad, and the seafood pasta. The steamed clams were good but the sauce was super salty, even dipping bread was not able to dilute the saltiness. The seafood pasta also was really salty, and super rich in cream. If food alone I would've gave this place 3 stars, but 1 more star for their service and how friendly they are. Everyone here in the area are so nice and nobody seemed to mind splitting checks into however many ways we wanted, and they also did not mind splitting the food into two portions. They even said it is super easy so let them do that. AMAZING!! Where I'm from, LA and OC, they will either charge you extra like $7 at least for splitting and they will only split checks most 3 ways...... read more

Came here for brunch and sat outside on a beautiful early afternoon. I ordered a Bloody Mary, it wasn't my favorite. The bloody had a bit of a sour bite but was still okay. We LOVED the dirty oysters and I definitely plan on trying to remake them at home. I had fried shrimp for my main entree and they were delish, loved the batter of the shrimp! Well worth our time and I feel disappointed that I didn't go sooner. Walking up to the restaurant, we liked the look. We chose indoor seating due to the strong winds. Although, outdoor seating seems to be the way to go. Great views all around. We were seated quickly. Our table had a beautiful view of the marina. Basically all tables had a decent view of the marsh. Our waiter was quick to take our orders and even though my glass had lipstick on the rim, he immediately brought a clean glass to the table. We had the dirty oysters and fried calamari for appetizers. The oysters, although they sounded odd were perfect. My husband said the calamari was the best he's ever had. The server could only recommend the burger because he didn't eat pasta or seafood. The servers should probably taste test all the dishes to give better recommendations. Started with the Lobster Nachos. Way tooooo many onions. Other than that it was pretty good. Decent amount of lobster. The Shrimp & Grits were really good! Grits were creamy & southern style. Came for apps but stayed for dinner too. Word to the wise before you read further...make a reservation or the odds of you getting a seat are pretty limited. The place was packed for a Saturday night. We managed to get a spot on the deck since there were only two of us and were initially only staying for drinks and appetizers. We didn't mind staying on the deck to eat but keep in mind if you are looking to dine in. With all the pictures of oysters, I was really looking forward to have some fresh cold oysters and a glass of wine. While the oysters were good, they weren't shucked really well. All were still attached the shell making them impossible to eat without doing a scoop around first. Oyster rule 101, detach him from the shell so I can eat him... The duck fries are amazing. I get they are just fries but get them, you'll understand. Super tasty and rich tasting. Our meals were good. my boyfriend got the tuna and it was cooked perfectly. Served over top of a salad with a tasty dressing. Biggest issue there is it's not served in the correct plate. Its overflowing and too full for what's on if. My salmon was good, but could have been better. It was slightly overdone and the risotto, while had some nice veggies, really was lacking salt for me. Overall, good to stop in if you want to try and beat even more crowds on the island. read more
