It's right on the water at Pier 38, so there's a nice harbor atmosphere and plenty of seating. There's also parking! The menu has a good variety of seafood and Hawaiian style dishes, and they also have a fish market if you want to take some of the fresh stuff home. The fish of the day options are a fun way to try something local. The restaurant has a casual, counter service kind of feel, so don't come expecting a fancy sit down experience. It's more of a grab your food and find a table situation, which I actually think works well for the location. You get quality entrees quickly! We loved the furikake crusted tuna fish, the garlic shrimp and the mochiko chicken.

I came with my brother and his family. Parking is free. I was deciding between the fried ahi belly and crab cake burger. I asked the cashier what she would choose from between the two and she suggested the crab cake burger. It's served on a brioche bun with spicy basiley, jardiniere spread, tomato and arugula and I asked to sub the french fries for salad. It was a good size crab cake. The briouche bun was soft. I also ordered a pepperoni pizza to share with my niece. It was okay, my niece gave her a two thumbs up approval. I wish they had a menu next the register for the dessert that was availble. I was suprised to see so many choices near the pick up area. I decided with the red velvet cake. It was moist, nice amount of frosting, and I would order it again. My brother ordered fresh poke from the fish market and it was so good! Seasoned well and so fresh. Overall, a great place that we will continue to enjoy.

I told him it was my first time there and asked him to make me the best roll he could. He prepared it right in front of me, which I appreciated because I'm very particular about food handling, cleanliness, and sanitation. I was impressed by the preparation and couldn't wait to dig in! The Hamachi Roll was excellent! Oversized, generously loaded with fresh fish, and finished with just the right amount of spicy kick. And at $15, it was so filling that I was completely satisfied! Ambiance was definitely lively cause you're literally in a market. Definitely a great first impression. I'll be back to try more of their menu!

They also sell Hawaiian food such as kalua pork and laulau. Their salmon belly plate was my favorite. Now, I have a new favorite. It's the hamachi kama plate $15.95. It comes with your choice of poke, kim chee, taegu and rice sprinkled with furikaki. I get the ahi wasabi with soy sauce. I didn't realize that they sold jelly fish until my friend bought me some. It's around $17 a pound. I get a quarter pound and it comes out to a little over $4. I love the crunchy texture and how they season it. It goes perfectly with the white rice. Looking from the outside, I know this place looks like a hole in the wall. Trust me, it's one of the best poke that you'll ever have.

But the locals know, and they've been coming here for years as it has a dedicated following. Inside, two nice Filipina ladies were working the kitchen and the register. This is strictly a takeout place as there is no seating inside at all. When you walk in, there's a big refrigerated window of fresh fish assortment, poke style. Lots to choose from so I had to sample a few. Menu is large, so I won't go through all of it. But they do serve local food here to go with the fish. Ordered a sort of plate lunch with lau lau, rice and Hamachi fish. Portions a large and priced well for what you're getting. The fish was great, but I thought the lau lau was a bit dry. Kind of disappointing. What I would suggest is just sticking to the poke if you're ordering here. At any rate, a good time was had by all.

Lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. I asked my sister what she wanted to eat for her birthday: Dimsum! I suggested that we go to this new location of Kapiolani Seafood Restaurant. She agreed! The covered parking lot is free! Just follow the signs and park in the designated numbered stalls. Inside, it was crowded and noisy! I wrote our name on the list and got called quickly! My sister wrote our order on the menu: shrimp dumplings, seaweed roll, deep fried taro puffs, shrimp and chive dumplings, mochi rice, pork-filled deep fried mochi, and custard tarts. Later, we added on an order of house noodles... they were thin, crisp, and tasty! Everything was delicious and beautifully presented! Service was efficient! There were different people delivering baskets and plates to our table. They just crossed off menu items on the printed list as they arrived. My sister and her husband were really happy with this meal! I was, too! Note: i even took home the leftover noodles! Yay!

The portions are also bigger than what you normally get at dim sum spots, and the flavor and quality are pretty decent. It definitely hits the spot when you're craving dim sum, although it is a bit on the pricey side. The service is okay. It can be a little difficult to get the servers' attention at times, but the restaurant itself is nice, clean, and comfortable.

Not all-you-can-eat, birthday boy just wanted to eat certain dish and we had 3 seniors who couldn't eat that much. Lots of parking available, outside restaurant mostly people using laundry nearby. We were welcomed and guided to our table. We ordered happy hour appetizers and main dishes. Salmon and ahi were ok. But the hamachi was really good. Not sure if it's the season but it was better than ahi or salmon. The fish were all fresh and big sizes. Very good value. Hotate scallops from Japan were great too, sweet and tender. I didn't care for the yuzu pepper on it, it only masked the flavor so I had to remove it. I ordered the Hoe Deop Bab. It comes with rice but I didn't need it so gave to my brother. I thought it was squid but it was the scallops in the salad so I was happy. The peanut dressing was really good and it went well with the sashimi. We had good family time. We asked for more hot tea and the serving girls came and filled it up. They left a jug of water on the side so we helped ourselves to water so it was less interruption. Servers were nice and courteous. Bathroom, need key and go outside the restaurant. Good quality sashimi/sushi here.

I've heard about this spot for a while. I love sushi and especially an AYCE sushi spot so when I…read moreheard that this spot could possibly be one of the best ones on the island, I finally went to try it out. I would note that they do close at 8PM and stop seating AYCE sushi quite early (from what I've heard as early as 6:45). We went super early for that reason, specifically at 4, so there really weren't as much people doing the AYCE yet. We walked up to the counter and let the cashier know we wanted to dine in and do the AYCE. A different person then walked us to the other side where the dine in seats are. We're given the menu and an expo marker. Then they came back with the wasabi as well as taking our order (aka taking the menu) We got: - Aburi salmon !!, ahi, Hamachi !!, ebi, scallop - Shrimp tempura, vegetable tempura!!, calamari!! - Unagi nigiri !! - Green dragon roll - Fire cracker roll - Baked mussels !! Everything was good, the menu is not super expansive with much less choices than, for example, Kan Sushi. I would also note that they kind of pack each piece with rice. I'm unsure how strict they are regarding the left over rice policies, but if you'd definitely get full very quickly with their rice to fish ratio. I'd recommend the aburi items (maybe except the ebi as it felt especially small the amount of rice). I wouldn't recommend their shrimp tempura as it is definitely pre-packaged shrimp tempura refried. (I also put an "!!" next to the items I would REALLY recommend. Otherwise, I don't think I will come back. Not that it was a bad experience or anything but in my opinion there's just simply better AYCE sushi spots out there.
