I can't tell you how much I love this place. If I can't decide where to get dinner, this is where I always end up. They have the best poke/sashimi hands down. Their fish is always fresh. They also sell Hawaiian food such as kalua pork and laulau. Their salmon belly plate was my favorite. Now, I have a new favorite. It's the hamachi kama plate $15.95. It comes with your choice of poke, kim chee, taegu and rice sprinkled with furikaki. I get the ahi wasabi with soy sauce. I didn't realize that they sold jelly fish until my friend bought me some. It's around $17 a pound. I get a quarter pound and it comes out to a little over $4. I love the crunchy texture and how they season it. It goes perfectly with the white rice. Looking from the outside, I know this place looks like a hole in the wall. Trust me, it's one of the best poke that you'll ever have. read more

Real mom-and-pop hole-in-the-wall. Couldn't even tell if it was open from the outside as it's so non-descript and worn down. But the locals know, and they've been coming here for years as it has a dedicated following. Inside, two nice Filipina ladies were working the kitchen and the register. This is strictly a takeout place as there is no seating inside at all. When you walk in, there's a big refrigerated window of fresh fish assortment, poke style. Lots to choose from so I had to sample a few. Menu is large, so I won't go through all of it. But they do serve local food here to go with the fish. Ordered a sort of plate lunch with lau lau, rice and Hamachi fish. Portions a large and priced well for what you're getting. The fish was great, but I thought the lau lau was a bit dry. This was always a go to spot since I was a kid. The best poke, fresh fish and plate lunch. The only go to order was the salmon belly plate with poke. This was perfection. Been getting this for years and has always been the best! Recently came here to get lunch, and got my typical salmon plate and switched it up and got the hamachi poke. The hamachi poke was a solid choice and was delicious. However the salmon it's self seemed to be slightly over cooked and had less belly than it normally does :( I only mention this because it's the third time I came where the salmon was like this consistently. The salmon was still good but it's sad that it's not the same as it used to be. Always park along the side road. Getting in and out from that front parking lot can be crazy. This place was on my radar for sometime now, just never got around to popping in. That ended today as got the Salmon Belly & Oyster Sauce Poke Plate for mommy and Ahi Belly & Hamachi Sashimi Plate. We were pleasantly surprised and both over the moon for our plates. The fried ahi and salmon belly had a nice crunchy outside and a moist and soft center. Still my all time fav poke spot! I was craving this for a while and probably could eat this every day if I had the choice. It's fresh fish and their poke styles are unique. I thought about going with my usual "Super Bowl" with hamachi poke & hot masago poke but wanted to slightly switch it up so I got hamachi and spicy ahi poke instead. I debated about getting the sashimi and poke plate or their Hawaiian plate. But then decided, who am I kidding, I'm going to stick with what I usually get and it did not disappoint! The staff there always remember me and are nice and friendly to me. The parking is not really easily accessible and you have to back up onto the main road if you don't reverse into the stall. Though it's ambiance is a hole-in-the-wall kind of establishment with no seating, it has great quality sashimi for the price, especially if you're in a rush or need food fast. The sashimi bento is my favorite lunch to treat myself. What can I say about this place? I've been coming here for years and it has always been consistent. Tiny little spot that is basically only for to go. No place to sit and eat or dine in. Staff is nice and friendly. I normally get the salmon belly with two pokes. I like the spicy poke and massago poke. The salmon belly is fried to perfection and has nice crisp to the outside of the fish while the inside is still very moist and flaky. Tip; if you're planning on eating this right away ask for them to pack your poke separately so you can keep it cold and the rice and salmon doesn't cause your poke to be warm. I've also gotten sashimi from here and it didn't disappoint either. Fish was very fresh and melts in your mouth. Parking is horrible there are probably 4 spots in front of the shop that is shared with other shops. You're better off parking on the street because getting in and out on Keeamoku is difficult due to traffic. read more

After the koko head hike we decided to come here for lunch. It was a small parking lot with a few other restaurants. You walk through a door which was also pretty small but they don't take too long to help you. We ordered the salmon belly with double poke. We got the ahi tuna poke and I think it was the spicy tuna or something g like that. The food was hot and fresh as they cook it to order. We waited maybe almost 10 minutes which wasn't bad. As far poke, you'll get some of the freshest fish here but others may compete on finish, sauce, condiments, etc. What I really recommend this place for is the sashimi platter - just enjoy the fish in its most simple and raw state. The combination platter gets you a little bit of everything. Their salmon is chewy and tender. Their ahi is fresh as can be. Finally, their hamachi is probably amongst the best I've had in Hawaii. And when you account for the super affordable price point - it's a deal that's hard to beat. You'll be hard pressed to find a better value combination. When you drive up you may ponder if you are at the right place. The place looks a little run down but the poke could not be any fresher. There was a large assortment to choose from. Service was quick and it was great to see that many of the locals frequent this place as well, always a good sign. They even let us tasty as many of the different types of poke before placing our final orders. And boy they were not shy with scooping up this fresh ahi tuna or salmon into your bowl.
