Finally tried the AYCE at Ahi & Vegetable. Bring cash to save ~$1/person! As of February 2026, 2 adults cost $75.29 including tax (without tip). Upon walking in, my boyfriend and I were warmly greeted and guided to the seating area for all you can eat. Fountain drink is included in the AYCE rate. You can pay extra for sashimi. Tons of nigiri, rolls, hand rolls, fried foods and sides on the menu. You must finish whatever you order in a round before ordering again. Make sure not to waste! My tip would be to order more nigiri, as the rolls/hand rolls are made with a lot of rice. Very filling. Loved the miso soup! The service was good. Everyone is super friendly! I think that this AYCE is well worth the price. Fish is fresh. Quality service. Only downside is the amount of rice--make sure you go hungry! read more

I will preface this by saying that I visited this establishment with a very large party and don't recommend it. The fish didn't taste as fresh as I'd prefer, but it wasn't bad. The EXPERIENCE however was terrible. I've been to Ahi & Vegetable many times prior to moving and have always enjoyed their bowls, however, It was my first time trying their AYCE sushi. I'll start with the good. I enjoyed the poke bowl and crunch roll. The menu didn't offer a lot of options and many options costed extra per order. It was an interesting set up. They give the table 1 laminated menu and a pen. The table has to decide how much of each item they want and write it in. Apparently the menus are numbered according to table which is how they keep track of orders. They do warn you that they charge for food not eaten. There were no instructions on how to order or a check in of who has been there before. We came hungry so we ordered. Our orders took a long time to come. One of our tables didn't even get their order which makes me think their ordering system failed. Our food comes out but not all of it. They hand back the menus. We order again. Again it takes a while, but dishes sporadically come out and they keep handing the menus back. All of a sudden all these plates are coming out, some I swear we didn't order. We are trying to keep up, the finished dishes are piling up because the staff gave up bussing tables. I kept track of my personal orders and noticed the orders were duplicated and they were bringing out food we didn't order. The lady tried to bring the menu out but the math wasn't "mathing". There were bowls already in take out containers as opposed to the dine in bowls in earlier orders. This signals an expectation to take out. FYI dry erase can easily be changed by staff. Anyway we ended up with a ton of unfinished food and had to pay extra. I had to take home food no one ordered. It was a mess. I want to blame our large party, but my other coworker was there the same night with just her husband and even they were being handed food they never ordered. We did the all-you-can-eat menu and I was really happy with our decision. I do wish the fish quality was a bit better for the ahi nigiri pieces I ordered, but overall the nigiri was good. I also liked that our first order came out on a sushi boat. Sashimi is extra per order, so I was fine sticking with the nigiri and the rolls we ordered were good as well. I'd probably stay away from the fried foods next time. About half of what we ordered came out burnt, so we let them know right away that we wouldn't be eating it (especially since they charge for leftover food). They were understanding and didn't give us any issues. Everyone was nice and helpful, especially since it was our first time there. Went to Ahi & Vegetables and unfortunately had a pretty frustrating experience. Most of the fried items we received tasted like they had been refried and were overcooked. We brought it up to staff, and instead of addressing the concern, we were told "you wont get charge for one piece of salmon skin" We also specifically asked for no green onions on any of our orders. We were told nothing came with green onions, but when the food came out, everything had green onions on it. We had to pick them out ourselves and brought it back up again, showing what we removed. At that point, we were told we would be charged extra for a bowl of rice because we had "picked out rice with green onions," which didn't make sense and felt dismissive of the actual problem. The conversation kept circling back to additional charges instead of addressing the fact that we weren't happy with the food or service. Overall, the experience felt more focused on upcharging than customer service. I visited on a slow Sunday afternoon for the AYCE option. Food was okay but the rice to fish ratio for Nigiri was too much. They probably do this so you don't eat as much. This restaurant put too much rice compared to other AYCE sushi restaurants. I tried not to eat all the rice since I couldn't taste the fish properly so I put some of it to the side. Had we known the nigiri would have so much rice we would have ordered other items. Halfway through my meal the filipino waitress (Karen S) tells me I have to pay for the leftover rice. Not only was she being rude, but I felt that I shouldn't have to pay for uneaten rice, especially since it was too much for the nigiri. I can understand if I needed to pay extra for uneaten fish since cost of seafood is high, but to charge for the rice alone is absurd.... Especially since they purposely stuff the nigiri with it. I ended up having to overstuff myself to finish the rest of the rice to avoid being overcharged. At the end of the meal, the waitress Karen was inspecting our dishes to see if there was any uneaten food. This felt very disappoint as if she was judging/profiling us. They didn't deserve to be tipped with how rude they were. Management needs to do better with training their customers on proper service and being more clear with their "leftover food" charges. I won't be recommending this place to anyone... I'd love to support local businesses but in this case, I would rather recommend other AYCE sushi restaurants on island that I've had better experiences with, even if they are chain restaurants. read more

Went for the AYCE with my family. We looked at old menus on yelp and was most excited for the scallops on the AYCE menu. Its $35 per person and everyone has to get the AYCE for dining (cant do some AYCE and some ala carte). I would say a good value for all you can eat sushi especially nowadays. The scallop quality was amazing - would probably just order mostly scallops next time! The other fish was good, and quality was okay considering it is a buffet. My family wasn't a big fan of the salmon quality but everything else was good. The only complaint is that there is a lot of rice for each nigiri and it's hard to order a lot when you eat that much rice. They do have poke options without rice or sashimi (but extra $3 per order). The sides they offer are also very tasty - our favorites were the fried ika legs, choi sum, chicken wings, and baked mussels. First time to ahi & veg AYCE lunch on the weekend, took a few times but called to make reservations, they only take reservations for certain times of the day, can't remember the exact times but it was the earlier part of the day possibly just lunch hours to early afternoon they said that for the later hours it's walk in only. Got there early and it wasn't full yet but as time went on it got full. They have two large screen TVs in the main dining area, one was playing Disney movies but after the first one ended they didn't restart the next one, it was nice while it lasted kept my daughter entertained. Rules for AYCE is that once your first order goes in you have 90 minutes to eat and you must eat everything or you will be charged extra, if they have to charge you, you're able to take out the extra food. There are also a few items on the menu that you can order for additional $3 like otoro or sashimis. We didn't order any extra $ items. Our first sushi that came out was the spicy ahi bomb it was huge a ton of rice and the rice was cold and hard we were worried the rest of the rice would be this way, luckily it wasn't but we forced ourselves to eat it since we were worried we'd be charged for it. I think it was day old sushi. The next dish hamachi Kama was very fishy and dry but again had to eat it so we didn't get charged, would definitely not order it again. The rest of the orders were prettty good at least the rice wasn't hard and cold as time went on some of the rice was even hot! Only thing with sushi and rolls it's so much rice! The side order crispy fried stuff was good- gyoza, shrimp tempura, calamari (everyone loved this). Overall quality was mediocre, liked majority of the fried stuff and the aburi (seared) sushi items. Also the inconsistent rice quality beginning off hard wasn't a great start. Service was great, each table has a button to push for service and they come to help right away. Bill comes with the credit card price, if you pay cash you can save 3% on the merchant fees. We walked out stuffed. Overall though not sure if we'd go back. Also the parking lot can get really full due to the laundromat and other eateries in the shopping center, you have to be lucky to get a stall. Absolutely no SAUCE or SPICE or anything. We did not finish, threw it away. Ahi poke had limu but NO TASTE! Fish pieces were filled with stringy parts, no shoyu or TASTE! SOOOO rude . ugh we have came to their AYCE a few times prior to this experience and it was always so nice and pleasant. we even felt like we had a good connection with our servers. So it was a given that for a friends goodbye dinner we raved to them about ahi & vegetables AYCE sushi. Boy did we regret that. We walked in and were waiting on a couple people from our party to show up (this was a saturday night and they weren't busy) . It started with this server that had the worst K-Pop looking make up and eyeliner with crazy a** eyeshadow piercing through my soul coming up to our table telling one of our party members that the button he was leaning on (by accident mind you) was ringing . it wasn't the reminder that was the issue, it was her stink attitude and annoyed tone saying it that rubbed me the wrong way. I shrugged it off, then I went up to ask her if there was a bathroom key and she had attitude again like a super smart ass tone and so i just gave up and walked away, went back to my table and told my friends "this waitress is spicy" at this point if she continued i would've told her if she didn't want to be there she should go find another job where she's not so miserable . customer service comes with working in food business and it isn't for everyone. Then we were ready to check out so we asked for the check, the other girl there we've complimented her on her music choices before (she has that place vibing) came to our table and counted us and then says "just gotta charge you for two rice ya." like not even a question and just walks off before i could even respond . so i stopped her and told her i would eat it, i have never ever been charged for a scoop of rice wasted rice when i've done their AYCE. What bothered me the most was how she didn't even ask if we wanted to finish the rice or have it charged to our bill. just so sad how we were treated this time, i could've came down to their level and took it out of their tip if i wasn't with other people i would have. they're lucky we even left anything with that kind of attitude and entitlement . a sad choice of a goodbye dinner but we're grateful we had good friends and good company that made up for their lack of respect and service. the food was 8/10. read more

I always order the agedashi tofu (so tasty) and calamari (I don't know what the dipping sauce is but it's bomb) as my appetizer. For sushi I LOVE their aburi salmon and ahi. I also do their spicy ahi handroll! Not to mention sometimes the sushi comes out in cute wooden boats. They have so many options and the service here is way better than other ayce sushi spots! Wanted an all you can eat place since my husband and I hadn't eaten all day! We decided in All you can eat Sushi at Ahi and Vegetable in Kapālama. We got there about 4:30 and it was not busy at all. Since it was our first time there we were informed how it all works. Super fast, super efficient, super friendly (but not overly friendly) service. There was a good fish to rice proportions. My husband used the miso soup to add the rice to so he could have sashimi . The miso soup flavor was perfect but could have used some tofu. I did order the tofu and the were 3 small slices - no problem since you can order as much as you want! Shrimp tempura was super hot and crispy. The place was clean, there was lots of parking - just be aware that there is a lot of construction on Dillingham. We would definitely go again! read more

AYCE is not worth it unless you have a big appetite for rice. There's more rice in the sushi than fish. The selection isn't much and sashimi options costs extra. The quality of fish is disappointing. If you were to eat spicy ahi, spicy hamachi, and spicy salmon in blind tasting, you will not differentiate what fish you ate. Even if ate the fishes by itself, there is a lack of flavor. The fish may have been cut ahead of time and kept in the fridge for a few days. Luckily I didn't get food poisoning. I think drinking apple cider vinegar helped. I used to eat here a long time ago before they have an AYCE option. I thought it was pretty decent at that time. read more

We thought we were lucky to make the 6:30 pm seating for the AYCE dinner. Too bad we didn't arrive 15 minutes later or we could have saved a lot of money and avoided a disappointing meal. Service was slow, maybe they do it on purpose so you might get full eating and not eat as much, and can only order a few times before the kitchen closes. When we ordered the AYCE the waitress told us that we'd need to eat everything before we ordered more, and that we'd be charged for leftovers but could then take them home. Only water is included. The quality of the fish was mediocre, maybe they save the fresher and better cuts for the bentos. The hamachi sashimi (which you have to pay an extra $3 for, as with all sashimi orders) did not have any of the purple part. The hotate quality was okay but tasteless. The spicy tuna had wasabi mixed in, so not worth eating if you don't like wasabi. The salmon nigiri were good. The rice in the nigiri had barely any sushi flavoring. The handrolls were a good size without too much rice. Some in our party don't eat much sashimi so we got a few appetizers. The shrimp tempura were small but cooked well and not overdone. The veggie tempura were nice and crunchy, made mostly with onions with a few carrot and green onion slivers. The fried chicken and teri garlic chicken wings were ok but too salty. The agedashi tofu was basic with 3 cubes of tofu. If you like sushi rolls there were about 8-10 varieties you could choose from. But if you're here mainly for the fresh fish those are usually a waste of time and carbs. Next time I'd stick to the bentos for a quick meal, and would prefer to pay more for higher quality but less quantity of food. This was another reminder that you get what you pay for.
