Worst service ever 2 days in a row!!! I wish u could leave a negative star rating! The waiter the previous day told me they were out of bananas so the fruit plate would not look like the picture. Then fruit plate came out and looked absolutely disgusting he left all the juice in the bowl like it came out of a can then when we asked for something else instead. Caution: turkey bacon is a dud. Really weird looking. Strange tasting. Bypass this one. I don't agree with the comment in another review here on Yelp! regarding wait times at the Agoura store. Expect to wait on Sunday morning. It was 10-15 minutes on my recent visit at about 1030 AM. Where this IHOP has significant problems is with the server staff. One guy dropped off the silverware and coffee, a girl came by after a significant wait to take our order, and still another guy delivered our food. After a ridiculously long, long wait for plates to be taken away we decided to stop any server to collect up our mess and to drop off the check. Everything was über-slow. So decent food, a short wait during peak weekend times, and forgettable service are the hallmarks of the Agoura IHOP. There were at least 30 people waiting to get into Jinky's a couple Sundays ago, so we schlepped to the South side of the freeway for IHOP. We were seated at the counter and, while it wasn't as comfortable as a booth it was entertaining to watch the five cooks crank out food as the servers maybe or maybe not picked it up. When we got there, a pastrami sandwich with French fries was waiting under the lights for pick up. After we'd ordered and almost finished our breakfasts, the server finally arrived and picked it up and actually served it. Ooohwow. I was fully expecting it to come back, but the customer must have been starving so they ate it. This place needs a food runner or a manager who gives a crap. We saw so much perfectly good food sitting up there under lights for 5-15 minutes as servers cavalierly stood chit-chatting, while hungry customers with fat wallets waited in the lobby for a table. We estimated that they could have turned 5 more tables while we were there, if there had only been some sense of urgency about delivering the food to the customers. If the GM of this restaurant ever uses "the economy" as an excuse for not making goal, the company needs to hire a few secret shoppers to sit at the counter and take some stats. The truth will be revealed in a hurry. I ordered the stuffed French toast with eggs and bacon. The eggs and bacon were good and hot. Luckily our waitress was not one of the slackers. The French Toast was dry and not heated through. The strawberry sauce on top was very cold, almost frozen. Gary was happy with his pancake combination. Very disappointing service. My husband and I got seated right away, however did not get to eat. The server was a polite man, and let us know that there was a larger party of 10+ seated and wanted to put our order in before them, but I guess the party beat us to it. However, that's not what disappointed me, it's the fact that our server disappeared and never came back to check on us or to let us know when our food was going to be ready. My husband and I sat around for 45 min waiting for our food or to see our server, but we didn't see neither. So I hate to leave bad reviews but the service here was just NOT good. I came in with four of my friends on a Sunday night at around 10pm and there were only two families inside who were about to leave which then made us the only ones in the restaurant. We sat down in our booth and waited about twenty minutes just to order our drinks. We tried to get one of the worker's attention, however, she was on her phone behind the counter the entire time. I am a sales associate so I understand when a shift can get slow, but customers should always come first! My friend had ordered a drink, but when he got it, it didn't look right so when he asked the waitress (same lady on her phone) what it was, she literally told him "ummmm idk what this is" and walked away! & then my other friends had ordered crepes & a cup of fruit... well the crepes were rock hard and they were never given their cup of fruit. and when we asked the waiter to check on it, he never came back to tell us the update. If I could leave zero stars, I would. We were traveling from out of town. We thought pancakes sounded good. We were exhausted and were going home. This, I guess you call it a restaurant, was close to the hotel where we were staying. We called ahead to make sure that we could dine in. We had no problem dining outside. The issue is when we sat down, we ordered two coffees and made a comment about keeping it coming, and a plain ice tea. They were out of plain tea. WTAF?!? I guess the manager was the only server there. I counted 3, including the "manager". After we put in our drink orders, it took like 10-20 minutes to get. When we got our utensils out there was what looked like white paint on one spoon, DISGUSTING!!!!!!! We were the only people dining there and we didn't see anyone coming to pick up an order. We should have known that it wasn't the best place to eat the night before because there were ZERO diners the night before. We got our drinks and placed our order. The "manager" didn't ask how my uncle wanted his eggs, "too bad, you get what we want you to have" attitude. It took like 10-15 minutes to get the food and the pancakes were cold!!! It took another 5 minutes to get mine. The "manager" wore no gloves that that grossed me out. I don't know what he was doing inside the restaurant while out food cooked, cold and finally served. We were only give ONE coffee refill, mind you we told the "manager" that we wanted two coffees and to keep it going. Then he proceeded to give us the check and then proceeded to do some LANDSCAPING!!!! We had to wait for another 5-10 minutes for the "manager" to pull his head out of his ass to get our check. First bad sign: sat down and didn't get a menu for 10 minutes. Second bad sign: there was a big hair wrapped around the tines of one of our forks. Then there was 2 strands of hair in one of our pancakes. The food is not good.. I have had undercooked eggs here, overcooked bacon, and mushy hash browns. For what you pay compared to the other local restaurants, it is not a good buy. The service, at least from the night crew, is abysmal. Considering the breakfast/lunch rush, the server was accommodating and helpful, but she forgot a lot of things on our orders and wasn't the most friendliest face on the block. She is so lucky that I don't remember her name and did not even want to waste my breath giving her my time considering how rude she was to me and the whole party that I was with. Arrived around 8 pm and didn't end up leaving until 9:45, waited to be sat and then eventually ended up seating ourselves, waited over 5 minutes to receive menus, and then another 5 minutes to even order our drinks!! Waited over 30 minutes for the food to arrive cold and not what we ordered. I would understand if they were busy, but there were only 4 other parties in the entire restaurant. Waiter never came to refill drinks or ask how we were doing, manager refused to do anything about the poor service , refused to take off the food that was not correctly made and was not eaten and only gave $5 off a $70 bill!! I have only eaten here once..... We went on a whim with my family of 6. Three kids meals and three adult meals $85. I did take advantage of the %50 off a meal check in offer.... Wish is was a free kids meal or something instead! It basically saved me $5. The food was good the server was ok he took out order quickly and food came out in a good time but then he disappeared ! This is not a place I would frequent often only because I think $86 is too expensive for breakfast food I mean three omelets a grill cheese and two pancakes ???
