We came here for dinner on a Sunday evening because we wanted a casual and quick meal, and to try out the kids eat free for dinner promotion. It did not disappoint and I can't find any issues with this restaurant. Service: very friendly and quick. We were seated immediately upon entering and our meals came out quick. It was not too busy, maybe 25% full. Food: the food quality is a lot higher than I remember from the past. My country fried steak was still juicy and my daughter's chicken strips were tender, juicy, and season well. The pancakes that came as a side for the kids meals were perfect and fluffy. My wife enjoyed her skillet, too. Ambiance: this restaurant was clean and modern in a diner way. The parking is plentiful and all the seating inside was comfortable. I'm happy Denny's is still around and thankful my children could experience it before anymore potential major chain closures. Highly recommend this restaurant in Newbury Park. read more

For a Sunday morning being a party of 10 we were seated almost immediately. our server was Norma who took all our orders and was able to do separate checks. that's a plus. She took everyone's order with no attitude just a smile. The kids ordered their kids meals perfect amount for kids not too much not too little. I got my Grandslamwich and it was good too. I don't often times like to review chains BUT when service is awesome, the food is consistent, and the prices or ambiance are on point - then I'll definitely come back to leave a review. Good food and good service does deserve recognition. This Dennys is tucked away off Wendy in Newbury Park near the freeway. You can see it easily from the freeway before you head down the grade into Camarillo but once on the Main Street it can be a little hard to find initially. They do have a red Dennys sign with an arrow that's on the Main Street so that does help a lot. Once you've found the Dennys there is lots of parking. This Dennys was remodeled inside a few years ago and looks great. Still the diner feel and decor, just cleaned up and modernized. I liked it for a chain interior. The restaurant was very clean and still had some Halloween decorations up, you can tell they had done a good job. The food here is consistent and tasty. It's Dennys, this isn't a 5 star meal but it always hits the spot and delivers on being their classic taste and menu. The food always comes out hot and made correct to order here. No issues. My go to is a super bird sandwich, hold the tomato, upgrade to seasoned fries and a side of ranch :) because I am sure you were dying to know! Lol. But really I just love that it's a feel good griddle sandwich that always hits the spot. The reason for 5 stars aside from being clean and the food good is that the staff here have always been nice. Very professional and helpful. I have had different servers here over the years and everyone is nice. Today they were equally as friendly and efficient. A good vibe all around, kind staff that get the job done. I prefer this Dennys to my local Camarillo one and I'll definitely be back when I'm in the mood for my classic meal here. read more

Longtime local resident, and have seen this Denny's evolve over the years. During COVID, the restaurant underwent a total remodel and facelift and this place now shines! Both the exterior, and especially the interior, have undergone a remarkable transformation aesthetically. More importantly, the quality of service and the food is consistent with the refreshed appearance. I enjoy an early morning breakfast nearly every week. Our server, Elena, brightens the day with her greeting and everpresent smile. She clearly enjoys her work and looks forward to seeing repeat customers. Needless to say, her attention to detail is consistently spot on. Despite what one might assume, the food is pretty damned good for a diner. It's certainly on par with most any other local restaurant that serves breakfast. And this particular Denny's is blessed to have a great kitchen crew that never disappoints. Finally, the pricing. For what you get, including countless coffee refills (and damned good coffee, BTW), you can't beat the price. While other local breakfast joints have slowly increased their prices over the last few years, Denny's remains reasonably priced, making it an affordable and obvious choice for the money. As I stepped into to the restaurant, I noticed its super clean, very organized & attention to detail. All the workers were very friendly! We requested a booth and our Waitress Anayansi V.. Anayansi was super sweet, kind, caring, warm & friendly, super down to earth, very genuine! She took our orders which we got : super slam, classic cheese avocado burger with fries , Moon over my Hammy! All delicious! Their prices point were great! The amount of food portions was great too! I wish I could rate this place higher because the service was great but sadly the food wasn't. The place wasn't sanitary, bunch of flies outside that sneak their way inside getting into the food. I was sipping on my drink when I saw a fly floating in it. The Crepes were actually good the eggs were disappointing. I hope whoever runs this place fixes the outside area because it's disgusting! Every time I came here, only 2 people working outside. I can tell that it's overwhelming for them but they are still treating their customers well. A little slow but all smile. She is a beautiful soul and always has an awesome attitude even at 0633 am here at the Newbury Park, CA location. We have also had the pleasure of her serving us at our hometown location in Camarillo, CA. Rosemary often tackles the restaurant single handily and running everything smoothly with all the patrons!!
