Whenever you go out to eat you usually expect good service, good food, nice waiters, and usually you would get that at most restaurants. At IHOP, we did not, the food was ok, the drinks took a long time not to mention we were one of the only ones in the restaurant. All this I could be fine with, but at the end we looked at our check and noticed that they had charged us a dollar per sauce witch racked up to at least 5 dollars. This IHOP was super close to our hotel so we went here for breakfast. We had a party of 11. Yes 11. 7 of them were kids, under the age of 6. Oy. We only had a 5 minute wait, which I was impressed with. Once we got seated our waitress came over immediately and took our drink orders, came back took our food order. We didnt have to wait long for our food considering the size of our party. All the kids put the smash down on their pancakes. I ordered a bacon and cheese omelette. It was pretty good. Great service every time. They care about customer service and always smile when talking to you we are regulars and always nice to go in a place to be well treated. I love their hash browns always golden crisp and their hot chocolate. We don't see line often and is always good special when we are hungry. Bathrooms always clean and smells good. Our usual stop in our way to Disneyland about once a month. Big portion for food so do not over order. You might want to share plates, especially if you have children. Each main dish is enough for two adults. For drinks. A cup of bottomless coffee will cost you $2.95? I don't remember the exact number but it is right about $3 before taxes. So if you drink a lot of coffee it's a bargain but if you drink a cup then it's too expensive. Same for other beverages, kids small milk is about $2.50, over price. Perhaps that is the business model - good portion then make up the margin with drinks. Overall we have not had any issues with this restaurant. read more

Don't expect much from this place. They'll forget your water, forget you, ignore requests and if they get around to it, will bring your food, albeit cold. I've gone here numerous times thinking it will get better but it seems to get worse. Food is ok if you like it cold. If you want chocolate milk, just order a hot chocolate or a chocolate shake. Just had breakfast here first time T the IHOP this location. Janice was a great sever. The eggs & hash brown was good but the waffle was partially burned so had to return it. A server other than Janice brought out partially undercooked waffle with an attitude. So did not feel comfortable sending it back a second tome. The food is always great at this location, although getting pricey. Over $12 for an omelette?!?! Wow. I took my mom there recently for dinner. She's 78 years-old and loves ordering from the senior menu. The server told us they don't have a senior menu for dinner or lunch, only for breakfast foods. That's a shame. If I could give 0 stars, I would. My cousins and I stopped by at 2.04am on Wednesday night, WEDNESDAY, not a weekend, so they weren't even packed or anything. Even though the signs were up saying "open 24 hours", as we walked in, the person standing at the cash register said they were "closed" for an hour, til 3 am... CLOSED?! FOR AN HOUR?! Mind you, there were still people inside! When my cousin asked why, since there were people in there, and they're "open 24 hours", she said her manager told her to. Ummm...what?! Why?! Still not a good answer. Is it cause we were black? I'm not sure. But don't advertise 24 hours, if you're not gonna be open 24 hours. I will, on this fact alone, never go back there. This is the worst IHOP ever. First the hostess made us wait to be seated during our short lunch hour while she closed out tickets at the register. Then when I ordered my breakfast with fruit...they were out of fruit! Next the men's room was disgusting with a broken (plastic wrapped) urinal, and pee all over the stall toilet. Also they left the front door open and the place smelled like cigarette smoke. I was there on Friday Jan. 25, 2013 and will never go again. Also IHOP has raised their prices and they are a rip-off. My husband and I rode our motorcycles this IHOP from Newbury Park. From the moment we walked it was bright and open and very clean. The manager was so nice and happy as was the rest of the staff. Our meal looked amazing. My husband had the Denver omelette and a side of fruit. Unfortunately for my husband the fruit had pineapple mixed in and he is allergic, so I ate the fruit and the manager brought a side of hashbrowns right away and cooked perfectly. Went to IHOP on a Friday at 11:40am, place was empty when we entered through the doors. We were seated straight and Sandra our server did a great job of making sure we had everything we needed. My favorite food and i highly recommend it is the Raspberry White Chocolate chip Pancakes (yum) which for a little extra charge I can add this my combo breakfast, so worth it. IHOP is not the Ritz but it's my first port of call when i want a good old fashioned breakfast at a good price. read more

Restaurants are closing left and right and the economy doesn't help, but the IHOP in Agoura Hills is disgusting for many reasons. Open 24 hours, must mean that we are open and you can order what we have available. Different dishes were not able to be made due to not having the proper food products to make the dish. Did I say 24 hours open. Yes, I did. That does not mean service, but no manager and only 2 servers on a Sunday evening is not good for patrons. Our table waited for 50 minutes to get an order in to the cook. It took going to the other side of the restaurant to ask another waitstaff to help us out. The male server on our side of the restaurant was in la la land and even the booth behind our's was getting poor service. I waited only because it became comical to see how not to run a restaurant. Oh, the men's restroom is without a urinal and covered over in plastic and urine. Ugh! and I am sure against health laws. IHOP SHOULD CHANGE THEIR NAME TO NOHOP as the service was not just poor, it just wasn't there. The female server was apoligetic and helped out, but both the manager and the male server should be out of a job. If it keeps up this way, everyone at this IHOP will be out of a job. It will close. By the looks of things, empty waiting area, empty booths, empty tables and empty heads at this soon not to be location, if service does not improve and improve quickly. I always heard that you blame the manager, not the company, so come on IHOP, hop to it and clean this place up in most areas. :-( read more

We have been eating here for many years. Always crowded on the weekends, but all good reasonably priced restaurants are. Very good standard american food. The staff works their butts off. I always tip well because of it. The menu changes often enough to keep it interesting. Breakfast all day long, YAY! We will always keep coming back. My only issue is they should wash their ketchup and other sauce bottles more often. We always need had sanitizers after lunch. read more

I'm not a big generic diner fan because those kinds of restaurants usually don't cook any food item which they especially excel at making (although one would blindly hope IHOP would have excellent pancakes? No?) and it's rare that you have a wait staff that makes you feel welcome. Well, no difference at the Agoura IHOP. I've never had a great experience there, and have only come on average once a year in the ten years that this has been my nearest IHOP. But I - like most people - am a sucker for freebies, so I came in today because it's Free Pancake Day. Well ... surprisingly the restaurant was very lightly patronized at 9am, about 5% of capacity. Nevertheless, I waited for someone to seat me and when I asked if they had the free pancakes (a three pancake short stack), the woman on staff directed me to the donation slot because Free Pancake Day is a fundraiser for worthy charities, indicating I could only get the pancakes if I paid the box first. Fair enough, I contributed, she sat me down, and gave me a menu as I requested (I always feel guilty getting something completely for free, so I wanted to order a beverage or side or something). However, in the following hour (and she sat me at the first table nearest the entrance, despite the entire large restaurant being practically empty, so I saw everyone coming in), NOT ONE OTHER CUSTOMER was reminded to make the donation as price of admission for free pancakes. I hate to say this hurts my self-esteem, but it kinda sorta maybe does a bit. Is it my hair? Is it what I'm wearing? Is it that a male alone wants pancakes mid-morning is strange and unacceptable? THEN I end up waiting a full twenty minutes (not looking at the menu for the last 18 minutes) until I finally make eye contact with a wait staffer and she begrudgingly comes over to take my order. Again, not busy, she had just been talking and joking with other staffers, etc. THEN the pancakes I finally end up getting are dry and really need the syrups they have on the table. This all is not to mention the tea selection the menu claims exists, the wait person says is only "Chamomile." When I pressed on the subject, green and black teas were also available. Sigh ...... I hate uncomfortable, awkward, weird meals in not really welcoming places, so if I get tempted by the IHOP sign again in the future, I'll go to the new Cracker Barrel just opened 20 minutes away in Camarillo! We walked in at 10:30pm. the waiter told us we can sit anywhere we want. So we did ,and we waited and waited and waited until 11. WORST IHOP EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE Right off the bat, it took 30 mins for us to actually order, but I can understand that there were other people there. We(5 of us) all ordered chocolate milk. It took about 15 to 20 to come and when it finally did, I took a big sip to realize that it did not taste like chocolate milk at all. We soon come to the conclusion that IT WAS MADE WITH BBQ SAUCE INSTEAD OF CHOCOLATE SYRUP. But you know what, I'm a understanding person. The kitchen will mess up bad once from time to time. We finally got a actual chocolate milk, and the manager( I think?) told us that he would give us a discount. So that was good. BUT, when we're all finished up with our meal and were paying at the register, they refused to let us split the checks because some other teenagers had ran off without paying. So they made us all pay in one bill. At this point, I said fine, so be it and he gave us the bill. I notice that they had ADDED ON THE TIPS FOR THEMSELVES ON THE BILL ITSELF AS IF THEY DIDN'T TRUST US TO TIP THEM. ON TOP, THEY ADDED A SERVICE CHARGE WHICH IS SOMETHING IVE NEVER SEEN IN MY LIFE AT IHOP OR ANY RESTAURANT. We payed them of course, but for some reason the cash we gave still wasn't enough??? And they said we still owed them 11 dollars, so we gave them the card. Everything was very caught in the moment and we had no idea what was going on, but just wanted to pay off what was due. After examining the bill, we are certain that they have over charged us for some reason unknown and they did not pick up the phone when we called. They had robbed us of our money I will update on this issue. Ps. They also charged us for fries that we did not order. Just to show u how incredibly bad this place is. I came here on a Tuesday morning. Restaurant was not too busy. I am not afraid to admit I'm a vegan, but I am not the kind who looks down on others because they are not. For whatever reason, it can be challenging to order food without animal products in it. I have learned to patient. I ordered sautéed veggies and a side of hash browns. The server could not wrap her head around this. She asked me if I wanted eggs? I said no, I just want veggies and hash browns. She said with cheese? I said no cheese. She called her manager over to help her understand. I honestly don't know what is so difficult to understand. Seems quite simple to me. Food came out and the plate was a tad on the skimpy side. So I ordered toast with no butter. Server looked completely annoyed when I ordered the toast. She brought the toast out then came by and dropped my check. She never returned to ask how everything was. I don't know what I did for her to react this way. My eating style probably I'd different from hers but should have no effect on customer service.
