I usually give this place a decent rating but today, service was not at its best. Waiting time to be attended to was a little slow, but it was busy. We finally gave our orders and waited which was somewhat annoying because the busy environment, but okay no big deal. We waited for our waiters return. Everything was going as well as can be expected until my wife received her hot water for tea. The hot water was brought in a decaf coffee container. When my wife poured the water for her cup it was slightly discolored hot water which had the flavor of coffee. Unfortunately, my wife had taken a couple of sips and notice that there was a distinct flavor of coffee. The waiter immediately apologized and brought the proper container for hot water. Okay, things like this happen at a busy restaurant. Our orders finally came and as usual with IHOP, the food was very good. When we went to pay our bill, we spoke with the manager regarding the water/coffee incident. The manager gave us a discount of the tea that we ordered. I felt a little more compensation would have been in order, but the tip was not as we usually tip and therefore the Yelp comment. My wife and I have been at this location twice: both on Sundays after church when it is extremely busy. The longest we have waited is 15 minutes max. The food gets served VERY quickly. The food is what one would expect at an IHOP, mostly average-good. But the service is great and they are on point! This location will be our future Sunday Brunches! read more

I made a phone in order here and they had someone who spoke perfect English transfer me to someone who hardly understood a word of it. It took me probably five minutes to explain to her I just wanted a ham and cheese omelet and a streak and egg omelet with no hash browns. When I went to pick it up of course my order was wrong and she was trying to say that a ham and cheese omelet was a steak -_-. Mistakes happen and all so I just wanted what I ordered, but one of the managers offered the extra omelet for free once again that's fair, but what really pissed me off was that same guy that offered the free omelet kept bringing up that we got a free omelet like 5 times and I felt like they thought I was trying to get a free omelet or something -_- just felt like he was being rude. read more

My wife and I went to this iHop location for breakfast yesterday. (across the street from Costco Gas Station on Broadway in Chula Vista) I would not feed the food to my dog (if we still had a dog. He died) worst meal I have had in a long time. The food at a Sambo's Restaurant is far better and they have been out of business since the middle 1970's. The food was not only over cooked but the omelette I had was salty and cold the Hash Browns were burnt (don't ask how they did that). They had a big set of cojones to charge $14.29 for the omelette I had and an even bigger pair than that to charge $14.49 for the omelette my wife had. Then to charge $4.99 for a side order of two pancakes. The coffee stinks also. The total price was over $37.68 You can get better coffee in the Recruit Mess Hall's at MCRD San Diego. (and I haven't eaten there since 1968!) Even C-Rations or K-Rations would probably taste better! read more

My husband and I dined here three times total. Two out of three times, the customer service was awful. This last two times we were seated by our waiter and then that was it. We had to request to order our food. A waitress then came and took our order and brought our food, but neither time were we ever offered more to drink when our cups were low. Even my food order was wrong. I asked for extra napkins and they were brought out at the very end. The bust boy saw us waiting and bought us water and notified the waiter that we needed our check. Then our original waiter came and brought the check. How convenient right? Then when we went to pay the manager cashed us out and he didn't even ask us how the service was nor how the food was. I like the service in the morning. Could be because only retired people are here eating or it could be because there is only a few customers in sight. Whatever the case may be, eat during the non-rush hours so you can enjoy your meal. The other times this place is busy as hell. Ihop is a nice restaurant to get breakfast, their food is tasty and their drinks as well, I love the one that's called "Splashberry," I highly recommend trying it, but the only problem is that they don't have many options in their menu, I think they should add more food to see and choose different options, but still is a good place, even though some prices are a bit high. read more

Came in today to take my mom out to eat for lunch and we were both not pleased with the greeter at the door he made us seat our selves and that he would be right over and once he did he just gave us menus and walked away, then our server came and greeted her self (Betty) she was nice and kept coming back to our table to make sure we were okay I eventually asked her what the guy up at the fronts position was and she had told me he was the manager (Gilbert)and me and my mother both said wow okay. When it came time to us about to eat our food we didn't have any silverware or napkins or any condiments so we had to ask her for some bc the suppose manager didn't do anything. I have got to say I LOVE this restaurant, everyone there listens's and pays attention to the customer's (ME/MINE) needs, the managers are very present and active in helping the customers and even know where I like to sit, I go to this restaurant about 2 to 3 times a week. I am a VERY PICKY customer and Britney gets it right every time, the hot food is served hot and the cold food / drinks are served cold and my order is cooked the way I like it. I know I could go to another restaurant / coffee shop and pay less, but I would not receive anywhere close to the level of service I receive at this Ihop. Thank you all for the great service. I rate this IHOP a 2 because the service is not that great. The waiters or waitresses didn't even acknowledge me, my boyfriend, or my son when we were waiting for our drink refills or bill. We sometimes stop by to eat a late night breakfast because it's not busy & they're open 24 hours. Even when not busy the waiters & waitresses seem to be occupied with other personal things. The food here is okay...the service here is awful. It was relatively slow, appeared to be adequately staffed, waitress dropped off the drinks, took 10+ minutes to take our orders. She brought out the food and we never saw her again. No refills, no check, nothing. Pretty crowded even on weekdays if you go after 9 am. I usually order lunch food even when I go at 8am,but this time I felt like doing something different and I actually ordered breakfast! I am so not a breakfast person, like EVER. Usually everyone I know thinks I'm weird because no matter how early in the morning it is I will order chicken strips. Hey I don't like eggs and I probably never will YUCK. I ordered the blueberry pancakes w/bacon. The food came out fast surprisingly since it was so packed. Very good food, I haven't had a pancake in years probably but these were well worth breaking the non breakfast cycle. The bacon was ok,seemed microwaved w/mostly fat on it but what else can you expect a place like IHOP. The waitress/hostesses were cool which was totally different from my last visit to this one. They had serious 'tudes the last time I went but this time was different. The waitress even joked around w/me and my g/f unknowingly increasing her tip. Very disappointed in the service, not what it used to be couple years ago. When I get a chance to go with friends or family some of the staff seem like they hate working there. I understand its a fast pace work place, but they should at least check their attitude (some employees). Recently when I have gone I have had things in my food like hair, dirty plates, dirty cups forks etc. I know its cheap for and you get what you pay for, but that shouldn't be the case. I complained couple times about the food and all they do is "replace" which I highly doubt. I bet that all they do is put it on another plate and nothing else. Went here today for lunch with my Husband. we got seated right away and got our drinks pretty fast but that was it. I ordered a ceaser salad and a turkey sandwich that was eh...alright. my husband ordered breakfast and he got his eggs bacon and hash browns but took 15mins when we were all done with our food to FINALLY get his pancakes that he wasn't even hungry for. The waiter took off a drink since we were not going to eat the pancakes. He wanted the pancakes more than anything else but took forever to come to us and were not warm to add to the frustration. So today we went to ihop it was my grandpas birthday and everything was going smooth until they gave us uncooked pancakes and the manager yelled at us saying that it was cooked and that it was how they made them, the managers name which he didn't have a name tag on but everyone else in ihop did what a way to set and example. My breakfast experience at this location was awful. First of all, waitress seemed to be more interested in her own personal conversation with the kitchen help. She seemed to be annoyed by our needs to have a good breakfast. My eggs request was not met, she took her time in bringing us extras that were needed to finish our breakfast. She was fast in bringing us our receipt instead of serving us. And the worst was that it wasn't that busy. This location is definitely lacking in customer satisfaction. Beware if you want to enjoy a good breakfast. This is my second bad experience at this location. read more
