I go to IHOP quite often, I usually visit a different location. I ordered the 55+ 2+2 with sausage. When my food came out they brought bacon instead of sausage. I told the young server and she apologized and said she would bring me some sausage. All good so far. She brought out the sausage and asked me to put the bacon on the plate so "they" could see that I didn't eat it. I let that go at first but as I thought more about it I was offended. I called her over and asked her who asked for the bacon, she said the cook. I said I'd like to talk to him. He was not available so the manager came over. Apologized and said they did not mean to offend. Then the bill was wrong and I had to get her to correct that. She tried to comp my food but I told her I was not looking for free food and only wanted what I ordered. Who in the world asks for food back after they made the mistake... read more

I go to the IHOP in Covington usually once a month. I normally get the Poblano omelette. Today, Sunday morning I head to IHOP. The hostess just looked at me. No good morning, no smile or how many, so I said just one. Waitress came by, again, no good morning, no smile. She had a nose ring and lip piercings. Yuk! I ordered the usual Poblano omelette. Since I've ordered this before I knew it would take at least 5-10 mins to get the food. Surprise! Within 2 mins the food is in front of me. I thought this is odd. It appeared to be smaller than normal, about 2/3 of previous times. Took my first bites to discover it was Luke warm. Now I'm wondering if I got someone else's order and had it been sitting under the keep warm lamps. Waitress never came by to see if everything is ok. When finished the waitress came by with the check and removed the plate, never asked how was it. At least the restaurant appeared clean. Went to the checkout desk to pay with credit card. The computer was broken so she had to take my card to the back somewhere. I better check the credit union tomorrow. I don't like my credit card out of site. I've always preferred Pancake to French Toast or even Waffles. And I'm definitely not a Crepe Crusader, but IHOP's glazed Strawberries and Vanilla Cream Crepes did intrigue me. I was warned by Management that mine were the last of the crepes available and perhaps not the most aesthetically pleasing. And here I thought the crepes were made fresh to order. Au contraire, Mon frere. Whether dining in Crepe Cod or Crepe Canaveral, the carpet definitely does not match the Crepes. Granted, it was by no means a Crepeful Dead experience, but the Bacon was apparently the victim of an unfortunate thermal event. As Crepe Hudson once reminded me in the HOP outside of Paris ... Came out with thr family for lunch and hadn't been to this IHOP location before, so we gave it a try. It's right off the highway and shares a parking lot with Wal-Mart, so there is ample parking. The spots closest to the building were all full, so we thought it would be crowded, but it wasn't There were a lot of customers but still plenty of empty seats. We were seated immediately and our server came to our table within 2 minutes. We got our drinks and milkshakes right away and within 15 minutes of ordering we had our food. All of our meals looked amazing and tasted even better. Our server checked on us frequently and ensured we had everything we needed. The menu is full of new items and they did not disappoint. We had a meal with chicken and waffles that tasted really good. The cupcake pancakes were good too and didn't even require syrup. Oreo cookie milkshakes were perfect. Service wasn't that great, we went around 2pm so the restaurant wasn't super busy. Our waitress wasn't very enthusiastic about being at work. We weren't given any refills (and each drink cost $3.50) and when our food was brought out, one persons food was still being made. We had no silverware and had to flag another waitress down to get silverware. 3 out of the 4 guests were almost done eating by the time the 4th persons food was brought out. Again, no refills. After we finished eating, we sat for close to 10 mins waiting on the check. And to my surprise it was $50 for 4 people (only 3 meals as one was split between myself and my son.) Drinks alone cost us $15, and again that was one glass each as we weren't offered refills! I know the cost of everything has went up, but $3.50 for a drink just seems ridiculous! Overall, I wasn't pleased with the visit. Service could be better. And food should be prepared and brought out at the same time. Food wasn't bad, portions seemed smaller than normal. Great experience after long day. Hot and Fresh Food, clean environment and Great Service from Friendly staff. Ordered between myself and husband, crepe combo, avocado toast and stuffed French toast combo. We like our bacon and our hash browns, a little crispier. My husband also forgot to specify how he wanted eggs. That being said, we didn't specify, received the standard version and didn't attempt to run the staff ragged w/ fixing mistakes. We enjoyed our meal immensely, none the less. Not sure about the lower ratings but after traveling and eating out constantly over the last 5 months, this was a refreshing experience and no complaints, just praise. I always check the reviewers, other reviews. Some folks cannot be pleased above the quality of their own attitudes. My wife and I have always enjoyed taking the kids for pancakes and eggs and bacon and - well you get the picture. When the new IHOP opened in Covington we had to try it out. I mean, it's new, so that normally means that the management staff would want to ensure they are putting their best foot forward, right? Wrong! This IHOP sucked the first time we ate there and the second, and last, time we ate there. My wife and I tried this place just a week or so after it opened and found the food to be bland, service terrible, and the dinning area unusually cold. I had the Steak tips and cold eggs. Cold and eggs do not go well together. My wife had a steak, I mean dry piece of leather. It was barely eatable! Not one to complain, I just paid my money and left. Last night was the second time. My daughter had her mind set on IHOP for her birthday dinner. Why disappoint a 12 year old? This time we had to wait 20 minutes to get the drinks after we ordered them! Really, it wasn't even busy! The meal, if you want to call it that, came in a decent time and oh my - it was horrible! Cold pancakes and eggs, the omelet was burned! My wife had the steak tips that weren't even cooked through! My omelet looked like it had been dropped on the floor! Nasty, nasty, nasty!!! If you want IHOP, I suggest you skip this one and head on to the one in Conyers. From their SNAILS PACE service, to the inaccuracy of the orders, the freezing atmosphere, to the lack of cooking skill in that kitchen, there isn't a single redeeming quality in this restaurant. This is my second visit to the IHOP in Covington Ga and one thing I can say is that you cannot blame the franchise for the horrible service here. The staff is clueless as to what service is and at one point after standing at the register for 10 minutes I had to wonder if anyone worked here. Finally what looked like one of the cooks came from out of the kitchen and told the waiting staff that someone was here. I am from New York and I live in Pennsylvania and have visited many a IHOP in those areas. I had the sirloin tips with eggs and the food was at best warm. I waited another 20 minutes after eating for the check to come. So much for southern hospitality. I have heard things in the south are slower than normal but this was plain terrible. Stopped here on a long road trip with my wife, Kizzy is by far one of the nicest waitresses we've had anywhere.

This is the third time we have eaten at this Covington location and most likely the last. Both times, we waited about 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive to the table and between 45-50 minutes for our food. The restaurant was maybe 1/4 full on both occasions. We were willing to give the restaurant a second chance after our first bad experience but then it happened again. We won't be back. The manager was unconcerned about the bad service. read more

So I belive in giving places second chances. But this is my fourth visit to this location, husband loves ihop. Every single time there is over 45 min wait for food. Ok not a huge deal. But to top it off the food is f#@% up. This was definitely our last trip. Burnt pancakes and burnt sirloin tips. Taking a percentage off the bill is not sufficient, they need to hire better cooks. And I don't want you to fix me another plate because the same cooks didn't give a shit the first time they sent the plates out. What is going to change when they remake it. Do better. read more
