This morning my boyfriend and I went to Ihop. We Ordered what is in the photos however, *cough cough*. We received strawberry water instead of lemonade ( our waitress thought we were stupid or something), my chicken strips were burnt and dry. My fries were stale, and my boyfriends French toast was missing the glaze on top but apparently Ihop was out of lemon, glaze, Buffalo sauce, and so much more. Typical Ihop. It is an American style resturant known for its breakfast items. Breakfast items are available all day which is a plus. This is the first time I have been to the one in Deland. It is on the small side a little dingy. Our waitress DD was super nice and cool and provided excellent service I had the country fried steak and eggs which also comes with hash browns and choice toast or pancakes. I mean look, it's a damn IHOP. What could you possibly expect? At its best it's a corporately branded diner. At its worst...let's not go there. We pull up and the majority of the wait staff is outside smoking. That both serves to remind that yes, you're in the south and that yes, the place is really that dead. Fortunately another family comes in with us so the staff is actually forced to kick things into gear. You know, a busser-four servers-three kitchen staff for three occupied tables. It was almost a 1:1 ratio of staff to paying clients. Our server was decent. Far less gruff than two of the others even though we had to ask her three times for a fourth place setting of silverware since apparently here all of the booths only get three place settings. The food itself was rendered in about fifteen minutes. Nothing noteworthy, just the usual array of breakfast stuff like sausage, scrambled eggs and various pancake combos some of which should come with an insulin chaser as the chocolate/fudge/mousse/tort/drizzle/slather is a bit shall we say... extreme. Other little weird quirk here is the layout. You walk in the front door and there isn't really a waiting area. The register is to the right and straight in front of you is the heat lamp window staging area where the cooks place the completed orders. It's like walking right into the back of the kitchen. All good and all done in maybe 35 minutes. Nothing great but nothing terrible either. The prices are more or less reasonable and it was close to the hotel. Perfect for what we wanted. read more

What can l say about IHop, besides l love their pancakes!! No matter what l order l always get a side of pancakes. Rather l eat them now or later, they're even good reheated. Well onto my Beef Tips prepared medium. Were very good, they had a sweet savory taste. Steak sauce wasn't needed. Hashbrowns good and crispy just like l like them. Went here last night on Christmas Day with my grandfather. We were supposed to go elsewhere, and we were all dressed up and ready to roll when we learned the heat was out in the other place. Searched the internet, and landed on Ihop as our first choice with Wawa as our second. Glad the Ihop was open and after a short wait, we were seated. We ordered hot chocolates with whipped cream as an appetizer and and the turkey dinners as the main course. It was tasty and prompt and we had a really great time. It wasn't until we came back for delivery the server was rude, complained about how we were trashy and mad the worst mess ever and that it took over an hour to clean it up. Even though me and my partners helped pick up because we have a toddler who when he's done shoves his food away. I stacked dishes made sure any food in our seat was wiped back onto a plate. She even said we got it all over the window, my toddler can't throw that high nor can he reach the window. This was by far the worse service we had. We were sat down and got our drink orders. Took about 15mins to get our drinks. Mind you I asked before my husband got his coffee that he wanted milk as creamer. Well waitress came and brought creamer. I asked again for milk and it took another 10mins to get the milk. We finally got to order and once the food came out it looked horrible. The waitress forgot my grits, forgot the sour cream and salsa that went on one of the omelettes and my husband's omelette looked like as if it fell on the ground and they picked it back up. When I asked my server if I could order something else she took my food to the kitchen to have it reheated. I told her, if I wanted to eat a microwaved TV dinner I would have stayed home. She told me everything aside from my chicken tendies had already been microwaved prior to me ordering. When I asked to see a manager, she called over a younger looking man named Daniel to help. Daniel didn't help ... His answer basically boiled down to " It's IHOP, what do you expect?" Usually I only go there when I get done working and it's really really late and I don't want to eat the only other 2 things open in Deland, dennys and taco bell. Always shoot for chicken and waffles myself, always pretty good. Takes about an hour to eat there, service is a 50/50 gamble. You could get someone that's very attentive, or you could be tracking someone down to see where your food is. read more

This was 10-8-2016 the day after hurricane Matthew. We knew it would be a wait since a lot of people did not have power. We waited to get seated around 30 minutes. Renee sat us and did not ask for our drink order. My daughter said that another waitress, Fern, looked at us and rolled her eyes. We watched as Renee sat 3 more tables of who came in after us, took their drink orders, took their food orders and refused to look at us as she walked by. A couple across from us kept commenting as to why we were being ignored. I had no idea.My daughter's boyfriend tried to get Renee to stop and take our drink order and she said angrily, in a minute, without stopping. Finally, Renee angrily asked for our order. It had been almost an hour. I said we were ready to order. She said no. Just drinks. I don't know if she was unable to do more than two things at once. Why was it so hard to take drink and food orders? That would have been the most efficient thing to do, but not in angry Renee's world. That took another 10 minutes to get them and she walked away never coming back. I was ready to walk out but flagged Kristy down and she took our food order. Kristy was attentive and very good.The other people finished their food and left. The couple across from us said they wanted to see if we ever got our food and didn't want to leave. Our food arrived and the woman came over and clapped. I have idea what Renee's problem was. We had no interaction with her that would have caused such rude and idiotic behavior. All we wanted was breakfast since we had no electricity. She also stupidly missed out on a decent tip because of her idiocy. I am hoping that the Denny's across the street will straighten this place out. We stopped there first and only came across the street because the line at Denny's seemed too long. I've had some great meals here in the past but it seems a remodel has sent this once attractive and reliable restaurant spiraling downward. We came here to get breakfast tonight, and was greeted with a messy dining room, glaring looks from the kitchen staff and only 2 servers present. After being seated and waiting for 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge us, Brittany came to take drink orders. It was quite obvious from the start there was no manager on duty. My husbands coffee cup was chipped on the edge and 2 of the plates his food was served on were chipped. Long story short, my over medium eggs with the runny whites, were swimming in grease along with my hash browns. I sent my order back and requested a cheese omelette with pancakes. Although the omelette came back okay and the pancakes were tasty, (it IS IHOP after all) the final straw was the fruit fly that was in my glass of iced tea. Asking for a manager, we were told she doesn't come in until 10pm (it's now 7) and her name is Cynthia. Asking who the GM is she didn't know. I will be calling the restaurant about this incident to voice my displeasure and request compensation for the $20 wasted here. read more
