If you like to play the "waiting game", this is the perfect place for you. This has got to be the slowest resturant in Elkhart. There is no urgency what so ever from any employee from the time you walk in the door to the time you leave. I have been in this restaurant on two occasions and both times the same thing. People wait to be seated-whether the tables are full or not, some walk out because they aren't even acknowledged. We waited 15 minutes to be seated, probably 40 minutes for our food. When we got it, my bacon was 1/2 cooked and we were "waiting" on toast. Exactly how long do you have to wait for barely buttered toast? About another 15 minutes, that's how long. We witnessed people leaving after they were brought beverages -perhaps after they ordered, I don't know. The food comes out luke warm at best. When I pay almost 10.00 for a breakfast plate-I expect it to be hot...not lukewarm. I also have to mention they charge OVER $2.00 FOR A CUP OF COFFEE!! When you have completed your meal, you are waiting another 20 minutes before you get your check. I feel this restaurant is loosing quite a bit of business with these issues I mentioned above...and I can't imagine how the wait staff can make much of anything with such poor "urgency" to take care of those seated in their respective stations. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. First off I went for dinner and there was probably about 6 tables. The waitress was super nice....it was the cook in the back that lost our ticket and made me(preggo) wait over 1hr for my food. I was sitting near the back which I sort of saw what was going on. Then suddenly I saw the cook just tossing plates at her and cursing. She apologized to us many times. By the time my food got out, it was under cooked, I end up telling the manager about it and he shrugged and said I can give you 10% off but that's all. Ate dinner here on a Friday night with my wife. Food was excellent and waitress was very friendly and gave very good service. Recommend.

Good food, poor service every time. The staff are almost always moody, and they don't tend to the tables nearly enough. You can just sense that the morale is down with the staff, so I would assume the management is the cause. read more

I love IHOP, but this has to be the worst one I've been to. Understaffed, unprofessional looking servers, poor quality food. Several tables around us didn't have silverware and many went a very long time before a server came by to take their drink order. Disappointing. read more

Food was good but they are seriously short staffed. Service took forever to even get our order and the food all came to the table in increments. Ruined the whole visit. We finished the eggs then had to wait for toast and pancakes. We waited a half hour before we got our eggs then waited another 20 minutes to get the rest of the food so everything was cold by the time we got everything. Will not be back. read more

I'd give it 0 stars if possible. Terrible place to go!! Takes forever for someone to acknowledge you for check in or to pay. Apparently they aren't in a hurry for your money. Went tonight and they were out of white milk!!?? They serve breakfast!! (Not the first time they have been out of a staple food!) Only 2 waiters but only a handful of tables. (Only 1 side was open) 2 long haired women fixing food. Neither were wearing hairnets nor did they even have their hair pulled back!! Most tables complained about the length of time it took for their meals. 1 table left because they waited so long for their food. I would be appalled to say this store was mine as a manager and owner! Save yourself the trouble and eat elsewhere!! read more

This place is complete garbage! Just the parking lot alone should've been a good indication....trash everywhere! After filing a complaint with corporate more than once, I thought I would give them another try....it was even worse. At least the food was still good when the service completely sucked in the past...now even the food was horrible. Something needs to be done about this poor establishment! IHOP 3115 EDITED / CHANGED TO THIS REVIEW FOR CORRECTIONS Had a hankering 4 turkey and mashed potatoes. Since Bob Evans has closed their nighttime schedule, IHOP is the only thing available Arrive 8:15 p.m. except for one large group restaurant was empty. Friendly waitress took our order. Two bowls of soup, a cheesesteak sandwich with hash browns, and their turkey dinner. I was asked if I wanted gravy for my mashed potatoes and I said yes . Main plates arrived with my wife's missing her hash browns . Soup didn't show up tell halfway through the meal. We were told that they had to heat them up. First my wife's came out and then mine followed 5 or so minutes later. Every extra, the gravy, the butter, glasses of. water seem to take forever. Food was not that hot either. Upon completing our meal we asked for our bill. We asked for the hash browns to be taken off which the waitress obliged but we had to sign some book certifying that we didn't get them. If anybody needed to sign it was the kitchen staff who didn't provide them. It indicated to me that they don't trust their staff when they have to credit the customer for their failings. We also asked for cups to take our soup home. Here is where it got interesting. They charged us $3.50 for each bowl of soup (CORRECTION :SOUP WAS PART OF MEAL MY ERROR)which we measured when we got home 3 oz each! My wife review the bill and they charged me a $1.09 EXTRA 4 less than an ounce of gravy for my mashed potatoes! Greedy I think. We were also left with the understanding they had no heat in the back of the house, and partial water supply to the facility. WHAT GIVES MANAGEMENT !?!? It was obvious that the Kitchen staff was disengaged from servicing the customer , appeared some were on their phones. Food was just OK. Service was NOT good. Young lady could not remember from 30 seconds before that we asked for water. Took drink order then disappears for 10 minutes. In addition....one waiter had HUGE gauges in his ears. SERIOUSLY!!! GAUGES??? Huge ones. As a Libertarian I completely support this guys right to have gauges, (or whatever else he wants to do). Of course this is just 1 persons opinion but as soon as his looks start grossing out customers at a place of business that relies on customers coming back....I feel I need to say something. Everything we ordered we had to reorder or change. IHOP is out of citrus fruit for the Citrus Salad, out of onion rings so we changed to a side salad w/thousand dressing, out of thousand dressing. One order wanted pancakes with sugar free syrup, out of sugar free syrup. Server was nice and not his fault.....poor management!!! read more

The staff is completely confused... There is a long wait EVERY time, even though half the tables sit empty. Sometimes there doesn't even seem to be a host or a wait list, and customers just stand around feeling lost. Their food is one of the worst for any ihop that I have ever been to. read more

As the other review laments, I'd love to offer a higher rating, but I was disappointed on two visits. This location opened with great food and great service and has only gotten worse. The food is still good, if you're willing to wait a ridiculous amount of time to get it. On our last visit, it was easily 45 minutes from the time of our seating until the time our food came out. They weren't busy. Our server complained that her section was over-seated, and it wasn't. She complained to us about the management, and it only got worse from there. The food was nearly cold when we got it, and i would have sent it back if I thought we would have gotten it back sooner. I just can't recommend that anyone visits there. If you visit, prepare to wait and get frustrated. read more
