Nothing too fancy, and the menu is the same as always, so that just leaves food preparation and service to discuss Food: Not bad, although the IHOP in Center City Philadelphia probably has the edge on the hash browns. Pancakes are pretty hard to mess up, but were a tad on the undercooked side. Food timing was decent - 20 minutes from ordering to getting the food on a relatively busy Sunday morning sounds about right to me. Service: Okay. Only thing i do not like is, once you put your spoon down server brings the check (even if you are not ready to pay) and wishes you good day (which means bye). I have been here a few times with my boyfriend and overall have had a good experience. This recent time was completely different. The food was good and our server was excellent, it was the hostess that ruined the experience for me. When we went up front to pay the check she was incredibly rude and condescending. I have hand tremors so sometimes writing can be a challenge and she laughed at me as I was signing the check. I will probably return here again but will take my business elsewhere if that particular hostess is working. read more

Came here late night for some food. I got a Philly cheesesteak with fries. It was a little bit oily. I finished it really quickly. The service was ok. The good thing about IHOP is that the food is pretty good and it's open 24/7. It's hard to find good places open late. I love their pancakes. Came here on one of our wonderful weather afternoons! I've been going to this Ihop for quite a few years but I haven't actually been to one in quite awhile. Food has always been decent and service has always been of quality. Ordered a cheeseburger omelette (never knew this existed until recently) with hash browns, and girlfriend got a big steak omelette as well as double blueberry pancakes. We split our omelettes in half and each ate a half of each omelette. I was quite surprised with how they tasted, and it gave me the great idea of whenever making omelettes, to just use ground beef, cook it like a burger and split it up. Hash browns, no matter where you go will always taste delicious if starch is your thing, and the blueberry pancakes, amazing. Cut that one up into 1/4s and gobbled it down with the girly. I was being severely judged about which syrup I was using with my share of the pancakes. Haha jk. There is no wrong syrup as they all work well with the blueberry pancakes. read more

Service is bad when you eat in the restaurant - even worse for take out. I have tried this restaurant 3-4 times over the last 2 years thinking it would change with new employees and management, but still the same. My last take order was sitting on the shelf 15 mins while I sat outside, and when I walked in to check on it, there were literally 6 employees at the front desk doing nothing. That simply states the poor management. The food is mediocre/fine, about what I would expect from a chain like IHOP, but I just can't get over how poorly the place i managed. My kid works in a simple pizza joint, and his boss would never let food set there knowing customers are waiting for it. read more

At other IHOPs I feel like you get 2/3, but here they pull out all of the stops. This place can get busy but they seem to do a good job of getting you seated quickly and noy rushing you through a meal. Breakfast is always good and lunch is okay. This location is much better than the IHOP on Route 50 in Falls Church. We went to the Route 50 location and it had a line out the door, about 40 minutes to be exact, then we came here. We were seated with 10 minutes with a group of 7 people, boy was this place packed on a Sunday! It's usually family tradition to have IHOP before we go back to New York and it didn't disappoint. Where you show up when the power shuts down. Those who know me, know I'm not a fan of chain restaurants, but during this week's snowstorm our power, and thus our ability to make food warm went away. We braved the poorly plowed roads for a shot at coffee (COFFEE!) and warm food. First off, they were understaffed - not all of their workers were able to dig out and get there - and there was an overabundance of customers, as power was out all over the area. The customers were surly (it is hard to be cheerful when your house is 50 degress); the staff were friendly, and worked very hard to ensure that everyone was taken care of. The food? Hey, it's IHOP, you're not going there for a gourmet experience, but my eggs were scrambled hard, just like I asked, my hash browns were hot, and the bacon was damn tasty. The coffee was steaming, and continually flowing. The orange juice comes in a giant glass, which is always appreciated. My mom's french toast was good news, though she thought the eggs were not good. Dad got the chicken-fried steak, and the quantity of meat on his plate was impressive - he was a happy camper. Bottom line? On what was a very stressful day, the employees here kept their cool and went above and beyond to make sure they got everyone a hot meal. They deserve a big kudos for that. read more

This particular location has some of the friendliest staff, whether it be 2 a.m. or not. Our server was in her fifties and brought us refills on our drinks before we could even finish the last sip. Very attentive. My only complaint is sanitation. Sure, I came in during odd hours and wasn't expecting a five star restaurant or anything, BUT there were tables with dirty dishes just sitting on them. There were quite a few workers just sitting in booths on their phones who could easily take the ten seconds out of their day to clean the tables. This is the best IHOP in the DMV by far. The staff always gives 10 star service and the food is delicious!!! You can notice the family and fun environment when you walk in and you are greeted so warmly makes you feel like your home. The managers at this location are just great too always around when you need something and stops by your table to make sure everything is ok! This is the second time I have been here. The service has been mediocre both times. Once the order is served we don't see our waitress again until it is time to get the check and even that takes a long time after we are done. Both times I had French toast and asked for no butter, sugar or whipped cream. The first visit there was butter and sugar on them but waitress took my order back and fixed it. Not ideal but acceptable. This time order came with whipped cream sugar and butter. Waitress apologized but didn't offer new plate. I ordered it the way I wanted so why was it acceptable to give it to me with all the extra calories I didn't want? Not returning until cooks can learn to read. read more

Normally, i think highly of the staff at this place, although normally i go at night. This instance i actually went in the morning and i was a little disappointed. My criteria when judging a server is simple. If they can keep my water cup filled, without it becoming empty at all, that is worth of 5 stars... etc etc. This time however, my server Janet (?), not only didnt keep the cup filled, my cup was rmpty for a solid 20 minutes. In my own opinion, thats quite disappointing. A customer should not have to flag down a server in order to get them to do their job. Then, before she even asked if i wanted more water, she gave me the check. Also quite frustrating. Like i said, my criteria is not a complex system, its simply whether or not my water cup is filled. The food was good it was very rushed service. But the kicker was the manager allowing an employee to go table to table while we are dining to solicit funds for a cancer Program. My dad survived cance, so we support cancer programs, however, it is inappropriate to allow solicitation while someone is dining.
