Ok, so not the most popular place in the area and I'm not quite sure why. It always seems to be clean, the staff are, for the most part, very friendly and personable. The food has always been on par for IHOP and if you go in there expecting IHOP quality that's exactly what you'll get. Granted we've not been there at total peak hours, I don't think.....or at least it doesn't seem that way.....but I don't know why it seems to be so quiet. I'm going to have to look back at other reviews to see what people have a beef about. If I had to complain about something, or rate something negatively, umm, the only thing I can think of is that service can be a little slow to get going. We've spent quite a bit of time waiting at the front to be seated on a number of times. But that's if I had to be picky about something, Want a typical IHOP experience? I have been many times. Today the manager encouraged us to leave with his rudeness. A waiter tried to help us, he cut him off, took us back stopped at doorway to talk to someone in kitchen, walked into seating area tons of open tables wanted to seat us at 2 top way too close to a couple trying to enjoy breakfast, that had no chair on one side, wanted to leave us standing while he goes and gets another chair. Pretty clear, how awkward and stupid can it be to get breakfast today. Never encountered such rude obnoxious leadership here, owner should get other manager back. I have to say IHOP has disappointed me and all the years I have been coming today. I was very displeased. They were extremely busy. They had a manager that was pulling a double duty as a waitress beside her job and they had a GM here that was supposedly doing the cooking and going around telling people have a kid and they're sitting in their seat and their shoes off. You gotta tell them to put their shoes on which I understand shoes have to be worn in a socks and shirts but kid sitting in their seats not going where it shouldn't be an issue also another complaint I have with IHOP is my food was not properly done. I asked for ham and they gave me other meats besides ham then hasbrown wasnt cook all the way, they never even came back to check on me to see if there was anything wrong with the food so they didn't even try fix it one star rating for this place. could of spent my $60 elsewhere might been bette food an service. read more

Dined this evening. Thought we(my wife and I) would go somewhere we didn't have to wait. When we arrived at 8pm(they close at 10pm) there was one other customer. (red flag)Thought great. Will get good fast service. Went in ordered a breakfast combo that qualified for bottomless pancakes. Tried to order a shake. Our server said " OH, I can't make anymore shakes tonight I'm thawing out the shake machine. I want to get out of here." (red flag) Ordered an ice tea. Later on in the meal I was asked if I wanted another ice tea. Sounded good. When the server came back she said" OH, I'm so sorry, the ice tea has been dumped. (red flag). She did comp the iced tea. My wife, daughter, and I dropped by the Gravois Bluff store in Fenton yesterday around 3:00. Place was deserted. The store is close to where we were headed. It was a little dated but generally clean. We were seated promptly and server was attentive/courteous. Now the complaints: 1) food is drastically over priced for the quality 2) my wife ordered scrambled eggs .. but got fried eggs over hard 3) my daughter ordered blueberry pancakes .. but got plain pancakes 4) the english muffins on my eggs benedict were tough as rubber. Coming from an experienced 16 year old in the food service, why did I call this Ihop and ask If they were hiring and if I would be able to work there with having colored hair. Over the phone they told me yes and to come in store for an application form, I drive out there and walk in and they tell me I cannot work there because of my hair being colored not natural. What is wrong with these people? After not being able to order online (which is a separate issue). So we called using our videophone relay (we're Deaf) & they promptly hung up when the interpreter announced us & repeated hanging up when we called back the 2nd time! I highly recommend that Deaf people stay away from this restaurant as far as ordering online or by phone. BTW they're great when you show up to eat at the restaurant. read more

Went on a Saturday evening, service was fine, staff was friendly, attentive. We didn't have to wait for our food too long we had a party of 5. Although my food was cold. I haven't been to an IHOP for many years but I remembered the pancakes were hot light fluffy and sweet without syrup. In this case it was not. It kind of reminded me of store bought frozen pancakes. Probably the Worst IHOP we have been to!! We told our server that it was our first time at this IHOP we needed a few minutes to look at menu. Thirty minutes later our server comes by and tells us that the cook messed up our order that's what was taking so long. Not apologizing but telling us the cook said our food would be up in a minute.( Kinda like saying the check is in the mail... whatever) Finally after getting our food. I was interested in trying this place because they had gluten-free items on the menu. Or, at least I thought they were gluten-free but I was informed by the waiter that they were gluten friendly, whatever that means. Our group of four placed our orders and although the waiter was friendly, the orders that were delivered were wrong. Not only was the incorrect food delivered, but we were also charged incorrectly and our friends were charged for my bill and I was charged for theirs. We ended up not saying anything to the waiter because that would've only created more of a problem. The food was awful, the orders were incorrect, the bill was incorrect. Absolutely nothing about this visit was worthwhile and the only reason we went to this place was so that I could try the gluten friendly pancakes. They were terrible. We should have gone to First Watch, which was the first choice but I wanted to try IHOP. So, I can say that I tried it, we all gave it a chance and now we are remembering why it has been at least 10 years since any of us have eaten at an IHOP. If I could give zero stars, I would. Do not eat here. Go somewhere else. Go anywhere else. Go to the Sonic Drive up next door and get a burrito. It's sad, because I remember bringing the kids when they were younger and they loved this place. It's not the same. I was in town for the weekend and had a great experience. City ordinances require face masks while in motion & may be removed while sitting. The restaurant had had a tongue and cheek flyer on the door that read "Masks Required". Bottom line is that I felt safe, restaurant was exceptional clean and all the staff were all very pleasant despite having to wear masks! Breakfast on December 4,2021 was worth having. Great staff! My son was being a little fidgety waiting for our table. James in the kitchen noticed an brought him out a little clip board to draw on. When leaving we took a moment to find James an return the clip an my son showed him his picture he drew. Then James was showing my son the pictures he draws an they had the sweetest encounter. My son wants to go back an see James again an show him more of his art. The food was top notch, perfect service from our waitress and a employee made an impression on my son. If I could give less stars I would. I guess we just don't serve people anymore. Me and some pals went for a 8pm IHOP run and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. Shouldve known it wouldve been bad when the server forgot her pen. She forgot our drink order and had to come back to ask, then suddenly remembered. We never got refills, the chicken strips we're supposed to be tossed in sauce, came out drier than the desert, the fries were lukewarm, the salad came out with the food and we had to ask for silverware, and to top it all off my father ordered a grilled chicken sandwich but was presented with a cheeseburger. He politely told the server the simple mistake and she took the food and never came back. This new generation just doesn't have any work ethic. We chose IHOP because it was less crowded, now we understand why no one goes there. They should be lucky we even tipped them $3, they didnt deserve a single dime out our pockets. Exceptional service, delicious food and a nice atmosphere. After 3 years, I'm glad I came back! We visited this location this morning (!:44 am), when it was nice and empty. Our server, Shanell, was super awesome. As far as servers go, she's one of the best I have had anywhere. Attentive, friendly and very polite, she's awesome at anticipating your needs and bringing refills and such before you even ask! I hadn't been to IHOP in a few years since the last time I had gone (ironically, to this location) the food was sub-par and the prices had gotten higher, but I wanted to down copious amounts of coffee and didn't feel like the tiny-ness of Waffle House, Festus, so away to the Bluffs we went. And I'm really glad we did! They now have chicken fried chicken, which--though not listed as such--you can have for breakfast, too! I ordered that. When it arrived I thought it may be overcooked, but appearances can be deceiving. I tried it first and it was tender, perfectly cooked and the seasoning! Three years ago the food tasted like it was going the way of Banquet cuisine and now it tastes fresh and delicious! I don't know what they did to that chicken fried chicken, but it was freaking amazing! My husband got the steak tip breakfast and he said it was perfectly cooked, flavorful and delicious--and very tender! You expect to pay a bit more at IHOP, so I'm not bothered by the price. When the cook made a mistake on one of the pancake orders, Shanell not only noticed right away, but she also gave us the correct order on TOP of the accidental order AND an unnecessarily nice discount for the trouble (which we gave back in her tip since she's awesome). The establishment was clean and nice and it was just a really good time all around. This time around, it was totally worth the drive from Hillsboro just to eat. This location and the location in Salem, OR, really are awesome. Now if only they'd bring the chocolate cake back to the menu, I could get on board with desserts, too. read more

This was most definitely the worst ihop I have ever been to. As soon as we walked into the door we were asked how many and as soon as we said two, the servers gave us a smirky look and whispered something about us under their breath. It has been a while since I've been able to afford to dine out so I thought I would take my son for a brunch. What a big mistake. When we arrived we were greeted by a very nice young woman who was quick to get us seated. This was the high point of our experience. Once we sat we waited 20minutes while my son was asking me for a glass of water and when he was going to get a drink. keep in mind he's only 6 years old. I'm not the type of person to flag or snap my fingers at a waiter or waitress but I made eye contact with multiple people and not once did anybody come to our table. Of course the elderly white boomers that walked in and got seated next to us were served immediately. When I picked up my son and walked out I stopped and spoke with the manager and didn't receive apology. She didn't really say anything. This is the best IHOP I have ever been to! Every time me and my family have came here its been a positive experience! We have came here since 2011 for breakfast and its now 2016 and I'm still as happy leaving as I was the very first time I came here!
