Today was our second time at Mama's Breakfast Table, and it was just as enjoyable as our first visit. The first time it was my husband and I; this time we invited his parents because we knew they would love it too. It is such a cute spot for breakfast or lunch. The front window bring in the sunshine, and there are fresh flowers on every table. It's clean and arranged well so that you don't feel crowded. Just like the first time, the dining area was busy, nearly full. On our previous visit, there was a table of about twelve and every other table was full, and our server actually apologized that we had to wait a couple of minutes after we were seated for menus to be brought to us--she was so sweet! But the busy pace doesn't seem to phase the waitstaff or kitchen at all. Service is welcoming, friendly, and prompt, and food is delivered hot, fresh, and more quickly than I'd expect when they have such a crowd. Between the four of us today, we tried the waffles with strawberries, the Spam-a-Lot special (super cute name for a Spam breakfast) which came with a biscuit and gravy, potatoes, and two eggs, the Greek omelet, and the chorizo omelet special. Every dish was devoured and enjoyed. Even though the restaurant is busy, it isn't a place where it's so rushed that you have to hurry and move on. We ate, talked, sipped coffee, and had a relaxed experience.

This is our first time here very small hole in the wall, but definitely a place to try. The waitress was beyond incredible. Continue to check on us. Food came out a nice fresh & hot. The fruit with the French toast was fresh. Costs for breakfast was very reasonable. If you're working on a budget this is a good place to go and enjoy good food. I would definitely be returning.

This food was soooo good! I had a western omelette with potatoes and a biscuit. The biscuit was soooo soft and buttery and the potatoes were perfect! Seasoned just right and a little crispy but not too much. The omelette was tasty, not greasy like some place and was stuffed! I was kind of shocked they were so busy on a Friday mid morning but we did find seats at the bar. Also, the wait for food wasn't long considering the full restaurant. It is street parking but we found a spot with no problem.

Mama's Breakfast Table truly lives up to the name -- it feels like you're sitting down to a homemade meal in someone's warm and welcoming kitchen. The food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked with real care. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. I had ___ (you can tell me what you ordered and I'll customize!), and everything came out hot, seasoned just right, and portioned perfectly. Their breakfast plates remind you of how breakfast should taste -- comforting, filling, and made with love. The staff was friendly, patient, and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, making it a great spot for families or a quiet morning solo meal. If you love genuine home-style cooking and a good breakfast to start your day right, Mama's Breakfast Table is absolutely worth it!

I don't eat breakfast much, but will definitely be returning to Mama's Breakfast Table! We entered and it was crowded, buzzing with tables enjoying their breakfast and having lively conversations. It had a neighborhood regular vibe that was very warm and welcoming. Staff were friendly and greeted us as soon as we entered and put our name on the waitlist. A short time later, we were seated. The server, who was also the person seating people did an excellent job being attentive to everyone while juggling a lot of tasks. She got our drink orders as soon as we were seated. We knew what we wanted to order as we decided while waiting. I love breakfast burritos, so decided on that. I wanted to try the grits, but they were out so I went with the hash browns. The food arrived quickly and my burrito was yummy! It was a no frills, but delicious breakfast. And the hash browns were a cheesy like casserole. Crispy on the outer edges and cheesy in the middle. So good!! I will definitely be returning to try some of the other breakfast items as they all look tasty! Service here was warm and inviting with a cozy vibe. Checks all the boxes for a perfect weekend breakfast!

This place is so cute! I absolutely love the vibe. The western omelet was huge. It was good, very buttery but the egg was a little thin for my liking but still good. The strawberry cheesecake croffle- UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT. Hands down the best dish I've ever eaten for breakfast. I could eat it all day. The potato casserole with the omelet was good too. We will be back and hopefully different versions of the croffle will be around!! Our waitress was super nice as well.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. Good coffee! The food came quickly, sorry no picture, we were too anxious to start eating this fantastic meal. We ordered the pork chop breakfast and a side of pancakes and shared the meal. It was plenty! I like my eggs over medium which most restaurants never get it right, Mamas nailed it! We ordered the fried potatoes, I typically prefer hashbrowns, but my husband likes them fried, these potatoes were perfectly cooked. The pork chops were amazing, they had a nice crispy breading, so tender. And the pancakes! Oh my goodness, I would go back just for them. Mamas is going to be one of my favorite breakfast spots, I can't wait to go back.

Fun little place for breakfast/brunch. We went with a group after church and tried a couple of different things. It's an open restaurant with little tables everywhere. Cute signs and decorations around. It threw us off that there were som many different menus. There's that standard menu (same info on both sides), a small table menu in a plastic holder, a seasonal additions menu and then a chalk board wall with more options. Look everywhere if you want to make sure you want to select from all the offerings! Good came out quickly and was hot. The Scotts big omelet is listed as a 5 egg omelet, but they must be really small eggs, because it wasn't as impressive as it sounds. Potatoes were cooked well, but didn't have much seasoning, which was disappointing. Everything else was tasty and our server did a great job of keeping drinks full and checking on us. Will be back to try more options from the menu(s)!

This place is a bargain! Great food at a good price. We went for the first time and I had the Big Breakfast Sampler and it was only $13 and I got so much food, I had to bring some home. Because it was the weekend, they had the cheesy potato casserole instead of the fried potatoes and they are amazing. The bisquits and gravy were delicious and just enough. The service was quick and efficient. Everyone was pleasant. The place was very clean.

I'm in a breakfast group on Facebook. A little while ago there was a lot of chatter about this place in the group and I thought that we should check it out some day. Today was the day We live a half hour or so away, but we're always willing to take a drive to go to a new-to-us place and we've found a lot of places we love that way. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. We went back and forth on whether it was a two or three star place. It's probably a 2.5. We arrived and there were a number of tables available. A server seated us at a table that needed to be cleaned instead of one that was already clean. She cleared it and said she'd be back to wipe it off and she did so. She put napkins down and said she'd return. She never did. We saw three servers there. We eventually got one of them to bring us menus. I'm thinking it was close to ten minutes after we were seated. No water or drinks yet either. Throughout our time there, there were a lot of times there was no employee on the floor. We eventually end up having two servers taking care of us. We finally got to place our order. We didn't have to wait too long for our food to be brought out. The food was very average. Nothing great. The sausage is super salty. The gravy is a milk gravy and it didn't have much flavor. I ordered a latte and it wasn't very hot and they put a ton of whipped cream on it so I had to drink that fairly quickly while it was still warm! The portions are large and the prices are extremely reasonable. It looks nice in there, but the floor was dirty. My husband went to the restroom and there was no soap and no paper towels. I told a server about it and didn't see anyone go in and do anything about it. We won't be going back. UPDATE: The owner responded almost as soon as I posted and apologized. She said they probably shouldn't have opened today. Some staff were out sick with the flu and they were very short handed. Her husband stepped in to be the cook and was doing his best. I appreciate her reaching out and explaining the situation. We are more likely to go back again!

Songbird makes great use of its space and should be near the top of your STL brunch list. A reasonably-sized (not-overwhelming) menu, great coffee, delicious cocktails, quick, attentive service, and undeniably delicous food. I took off on a redeye this morning (coffee courtesy of Blueprint), and landed on the Farm Sampler: two scrambled eggs, applewood smoked bacon, sourdough toast, sliced avocado and sauteed shiitake mushrooms. Phenomenal flavors and textures. Toast is typically an afterthought for me, but the buttery crunch of the sourdough has to be spotlighted. The Bee's Knees cocktail was also a wonderfully refreshing prelude to the approaching STL summer. The time has come, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say: wake up, reserve, enjoy.

I was very excited to try them but left knowing I would not return. I waited 40 minutes on a weekday morning for a bar seat for one, standing because all the waiting area seats were taken. The hostess/waitress was very nice when she got to me, but you could tell that the amount of customers was simply too much to handle. Now, this was okay - I should have made a reservation, and it's not the staff's fault they were overwhelmed. However, the service once I sat down was patchy, delayed and distracted. I had to remind different servers of my presence, multiple times. I was willing to overlook this if the food had been fantastic, but unfortunately, their most popular item, the combo breakfast sandwich, was so incredibly heavy. The first bite was crispy, oily and fatty deliciousness, but by the third bite it was simply too rich. The sweet overtone of the honey was lovely but did not cut through the grease. By the time I finished half, I understood why several diners had left the other half uneaten. My personal preference is for a fresh, umami yet balanced sandwich that does not make me feel queasy after finishing it. This was not the sandwich for me. There was a long delay after I finished eating for them to bring me the check. My whole meal took around 2.5 hours. I had arrived starving and, I like to think, with an open mind. These are my honest, unfiltered observations. It is wonderful that so many people want to try their food and that their new space is bigger. Their decor, glassware and menu were cute and tasteful. I also love that they grew from a farmers market food stall and that they source their ingredients locally. With their level of popularity, I think they should focus on preserving the quality of their service and food.

My wife chuckled on how they served her coffee in a Christmas cup. Mine came in a plain white cup. But I still excessively chuckled on how funny the menu is and the staff are. The staff are very attentive to how your food tastes and make plenty of funny jokes with you. They also are very descriptive on what the specials on pancakes and omelettes are. As well as being very honest. I ordered the Benny's Got Beef Or Belly with Brisket. I know, long name. I watched the weather while my food was being prepared, and occasionally looking at the PBS TV nearby. My wife was drawing with my 11 year old daughter (and writing "secret messages") as their food was being prepped and prepared. When my food finally came out, I immediately took a bite. The brisket was very juicy and tender. And the eggs were delicious on the side. I tried this place several years ago. Was still the same good taste that I remember when I took my wife to this place. Very amazing place. Will come again.

Whether it is the quaintly appointed guest…read morerooms or the delightful library and parlor, each area of this former residence is unique and meticulously maintained. While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold. We'll be back - and you should give Fleur-de-Lys a try!
