On the first leg of my cross the country trek and was hoping to find an IHOP right off the highway and the universe provided. Literally right off the highway at a gas stop mind you. Was greeted, seated and served by Hannah B. Pleasant young lady who did her job/jobs well! Had a new omelette they had on the menu called the Pablono. Had the pancakes on the side of course to help power me through the next few hours. It was delicious and service was great! Much needed!

I appreciate a good IHOP even though I try to steer clear of them now due to allergies, but I figured since we were down in this area and not really wanting fast food at the time we would come here since it was sit down service. I believe at the time of us coming here this place was fairly new and definitely in the growing pains stage. Food was standard to all other IHOPs, so nothing to really complain about there...well, maybe. I had the Turkey and Avocado Bennie. Everything about this sounded amazing and almost tasted amazing. Except for the avocado, one of the main draws for this dish. To me, avocado shouldn't have a crunch to it. Obviously not ripe enough, but still put on the dish. Was it a turn off, a bit, but it didn't hinder me from eating the rest of this meal. As for the service, definitely could use some help with that area. We didn't show up at a busy time and we waited for just about everything. If I remember correctly we had to wait for items that were to be with our meals to come out much later than they should have. You kind of want your toast if you having dippy eggs, am I right? I honestly cannot tell you who was holding up the process. Really couldn't pin it on our server, you could tell she was flustered, but whatever she was flustered about was out of her control. I can tell you that when you are in no hurry to go anywhere, the wait doesn't seem so bad. But if I had stopped here with the purpose of receiving a rather quick meal, I would be a little peeved with the hold up. Things to note about this place: it is set up with an emphasis on working lunches. High, long tables that you can eat and work on your computer. Attached to and part of a fuel stop, so expect confusion.

Service was extreme slow there seemed to be about 4 or booths with people in there but we still had to wait 1520 minutes for a waitress

The customer service was horrible. And the manager was not very active in making sure her customers were satisfied.

I hung out in the living room talking with folks after dinner. Very friendly place. Breakfast was included with my room, so I enjoyed Saturday breakfast buffet. The small donuts were literally the best donut I've ever had. So airy. Sticky bun was good too. I didn't care for the pancake and would've loved some fresh fruit. They also give to go cups for drinks, which is a nice touch. Folks were very friendly with one minor exception.

We delight in the original tart and thin Buckwheat cake of Preston County. Have enjoyed nearly all items on menu. Prices have increased while portions have decreased. My brother insists in the chthonic time after breakfast and prior to lunch. Highly recommend.... There are several dining options in this area, and all are good.

I saw a sign for this place off the highway and was excited to get off and regain my composure. The guy who served me was so sweet, very friendly and didn't seem irritated with me talking and talking and talking lol I was anxious and couldn't help myself. We got some treats and used the very clean bathroom. They didn't have an annoying tip machine and the guy didn't even expect one but I wanted to show my appreciation for his kindness and allowing me to talk so much haha. Sliders and a huge bowl of applesauce for one kid (big approval on both). Bowl of creamy tomato soup for kid #2, which he said was amazing. Yard Bird sandwich was enormous, juicy, and very crisply fried. Corned beef and sauerkraut (housemade) in the Reuben was delicious but had a slightly disappointing meat-to-kraut ratio that had me wishing for a bit more of the tender corned beef. A really nice touch is that the kids meals are 1/2 off with the purchase of an entree. $5 instead of $10. Great deal and still high quality food. Our waitress was terrific but the kitchen was surprisingly slow given that there were only a few diners in the restaurant. (The slow service made it a 4 star, not 5, experience.) Nice decor and clean bathrooms. Some in our party wandered through the quaint artisan village across the street while we waited for our food.
