This was the final stop on our vacation and had planned on eating here when the trip was still being planned. I was a little worried with the mixed reviews on Yelp but this by far was the BEST food we had eaten on the trip. Great way to end the vacation. Kami was our waitress and she was knowledgeable and friendly. The iced tea and the rolls were DELICIOUS. Restaurant was quiet and was reasonably priced for 2 people at $45 for an appetizer, 2 meals, 2 teas and a take home pie slice. We talked about the food for half an hour after we left and we wish it wasn't 1.5 hours away because we want to return. The only complaints were that the green pepper in the salad was the stem, not the pepper and I really wanted to take home rolls but they were sold out. Took my husband here for Father's Day, his choice. We both got the buffet that included rolls and pie per the waitress. When we were too full to eat the pie we picked, we were not allowed to take it to go. We were allowed to take the rolls though. The waitress said, don't be mad at me, my boss is sitting right over there and you're not allowed to take it to go. WOW!! read more

Traveling-looking for a late lunch. I'd classify Curts as a hometown diner, like those in the small town where I grew up. As a hometown diner, they are excellent. Clean, great food, great service. We stopped at Curt's Restaurant on a Thursday afternoon, it was not busy, maybe 3-5 tables occupied. We were waited on immediately. Our waitress was clearly new to the job and therefore, bares no responsibility to the matter. I ordered a chef salad thinking it would be quick and easy. When my salad arrived it appeared to be perfect, until I put my fork into one of the four grape tomatoes. 3 of the four were rotten and turned over to hide the fact. I brought it to the waitress's attention, she apologized and stated that the kitchen would be made aware, again! Obviously not the first time they've had this problem. We have been dining at this restaurant for years and have noticed that it has been slowly going downhill and sad to say this was our last visit. read more

The food is filling but on the bland side. I had a roast beef dinner that had no red meat, all cooked brown but not overcooked. The gravy could be used to hang wallpaper. The peas that came with the meal were right out of a 5 gallon can, mushy and pale. My wife had a hoagie which she said was good but lacked onion. There are few food options in this area so I will continue to eat here without enthusiasm. I will always buy a pie here. They do have the best tasting pies around. read more

Sadly, Curt's was a disappointment for our family. The restaurant was recommended by the Nemacolin resort so we ignored the poor Yelp reviews which we should have heeded. The moment we walked in the staff was surly ("curt" is an appropriate name for the restaurant) just as they had been on the phone when we called earlier in the day. First visit on a Sunday at lunchtime. Slow hostess and a log jamb at the door, but seated reasonably soon. Staff is friendly and prompt prior to ordering but no sign after the meal. Fantastic food and service...Homemade cookies and pies were delicious...I had a hot turkey sandwich with fries...delicious!

Nice large place. Very clean. The food is iffy. I got a burger and split it. The bun was too small for the burger. Meat was greasy and tastelessness. French fries were ok. Now the staff. They were not friendly at all. No one smiles and they all looked like they would rather be any place else but here. Would just keep driving next time. read more

Food was great. The server also did a fantastic job. The problem? We had 9 people, which included a 6 month old infant. The sign said to "seat yourself". In addition to being stared (glared?) at by the staff behind the counter, they wouldn't let us all sit together at the same table, even though there would have been plenty of room. The manager (an older, thin lady who seemed to have waited for this moment her whole life), came over to tell us that we could only seat 8 at the table and the infant made it 9. The restaurant was not full. (And even if it was, we would have been saving them a table.) They wouldn't let us push two tables together, even though there was an abundance of space. So we put 3 kids (9 and under) at one table with grandma and then at another table (which wasn't immediately next to it), and 4 adults plus an infant at the other table. So much for a "family restaurant". The ambiance of the restaurant was quiet. Again, the food was great (despite a kids meal burger being burnt on one side). The hoagie roll, burger bun, and hot dog buns appeared to have been homemade and were delicious. It was simply the non-understanding, inflexible, rule-sticker-to-a-fault manager that soured the mood from the beginning. Plus, they had paper straws. read more

It was absolutely unbelievably unbearable. All the staff were staring at me while I ate which made me uncomfortable and when I asked them to stop they didn't! Dine in service , extremely slow , had to ask for our drinks again after being seated for at least 20 minutes. When my coffee was brought, she threw the creamers across the table and was just rude and never brought my water. Could see our food was done and sitting in the kitchen to be picked up.... it sat there for almost 20 minutes before she brought it to us. Everything was cold, eggs were undercooked, never got one refill on the bottomless coffee. Occupancy was restricted and tables limited with at least four waitresses, so service should not have been that slow. Terrible dining experience from the service to the food. read more

We frequently travel between Indiana and Baltimore and stumbled upon Curt's on one of our road trips. Their fluffy rolls are so delicious, and it's nice to have a home cooked meal on the road rather than all the fast food. read more

So it's hard to even give this place 1 star, Like most restaurants near Bruceton Mills, WV and just across the border here in PA the food is extremely lacking. To make this short I orders a breakfast sandwich sausage egg and cheese and some hash browns. The meat you could clearly tell was heated up in a microwave and the "home made"bread was just bleached white bread. This place isn't worth wasting your money on. These reviews make me giggle. It's not that the waitresses are rude or that they don't want to serve you; they just don't know you. It's just small-business, Fayette County Hospitality. You out-of-towners just don't understand this area. In most businesses, you walk in where you're greeted with a smile and a friendly face ready to earn your money but in Fayette County your first scrutinized as: a: Who is this person? b: Are they from around here? c: Is that Jeb's cousin? d: I don't know this person, what do they want? e: They look like someone who thinks their better than me. We'll see. FC has a long and storied history of strong independence and community going the whole way back to the Whiskey Rebellion of 1791 and unless you know someone locally, you will be met with suspicion. Try popping into any local small bar, small restaurant or auto mechanic and see if you don't get the same welcome. It's just their way. A kind of, "You'll like us or you won't but you won't get any special treatment." Once you have a seat, strike up a friendly conversation and treat your waitress like a person and not an object and you'll be treated likewise. I've eaten there many times and I'm NOT local but they know me now and I've never had a bad meal or bad service. The food is as down-home cookin' as you can hope and their homemade rolls are huge and delicious. It's a favorite of mine but then I again, I get it and enjoy the uniqueness of FC. read more

What a nice surprise! I was unfamiliar with the area so I didn't know where to go to eat. I was staying at the Nemacolin resort, but I wanted something quick and easy like diner food. My boyfriend recommend Curt's to me. It is about 10 minutes up the road from the resort. The burger was juicy and delicious, and filling. It was fantastic. The abundance of fries came as a substitute from the chips. I also got the mozzarella sticks. I got the order to go, and the host was very nice. The next time I'm in the area, I will be stopping back- and I suggest you do too! read more

This place had horrible service/ food, we waited for our breakfast for over an hour, the manager came out and said our food would be right out, the food came out and our sausage was RAW, pink RAW, and the sausage gravy was cold, the hash browns were cold, the manager came out and showed no concern about fixing our meal, WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE or recommend to anybody to go!! This is one of my favorite places. I love their soups, their baked goods, and all of their food. A friendly hostess greets me when I go in and I get seated as quickly as they can get me a table. Visiting Ohiopyle state park, then to Lady Luck casino, a tip from the roulette table dealer was to stop by Curt's as they have great soups, and delicious homemade pies. Well, I love soup and homemade pies, so we went straightaway after the casino. The navy bean with ham was awesome. Just like my North Carolina grandpa used to make. The fried chicken was hot, juicy, fresh and the skin was perfectly crisp. We got a slice of the coconut cream pie and peach pie to go. The pies are in a clear display case and the crust on the peach pie was so golden brown, it looked delicious. Later when we tasted them back in our suite at Falling Rock at Nemacolin, the pies tasted like heaven. Somebody is baking and cooking with love at Curt's. We'll definitely be back on our next vaca. read more

Typical below average diner. I asked for a ham and cheese omelette and was told it could not be ordered. They have a computer ordering system that can't go off menu. Seriously? I was able to order a cheese omelette and ham on the side then cut it up and mix it myself. Homefries were dried to a crisp. A simple breakfast took 30 minutes to arrive. Oh, the glass the water came in was dirty and no towels or hand dryer in the restroom. I have not been there in years due to bad service and what seemed like reheated leftovers. We arrived and the place was full. Those waiting told us there was no waiting list so we waited. The staff seemed in no hurry to clean off tables and when they did only once were those in line asked who was next. Most people just sat themselves down as tables opened. All-in-all if someone was running the front of the restaurant I'd give this place 4 stars. The service was slow. We waited 40 minutes for our food after waiting 10 minutes to order it. When it arrived everything was cooked well and tasted good. My wife said it was the best Reuben she's ever eaten. My Italian cold cut was good and unique. Another patron, a local, told me they also waited a long time and that they are usually on top of their game and perhaps a cook had called in and they were short.
