But cleanliness was horrible I saw staff in the kitchen without hair nets and the vents over the tables have mold/mildew on them ( doesn't look like they ever clean them it's disgusting). Have always enjoyed iHop and we decided to try out the Harrisonburg location. It was about 3 pm and there weren't many diners, yet we stood in front waiting to be seated for about 10 minutes. I ordered the impossible sausage combo and it came with two impossible sausages, scrambled egg whites, fresh fruits and two protein pancakes. I went in yesterday. The front counter has a sign that said, "grab a menu, someone will be with you shortly." I sat down to wait, and a group of four was sitting across from me also waiting. I sat there for approximately twelve minutes and no one came from the back. No one crossed the front of their kitchen divider. No one made eye contact. No one acknowledged the existence of me or the other potential patrons. This is customer service today. Non-existent. Waffle House is generally underrated. Do not order anything egg here. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict. The English Muffin was on the hard side. The eggs were over cooked. The yolk is supposed to be runny, not completely cooked. The hollandaise sauce was also a little over cooked. I had an omelet. The cheese was a tiny amount sprinkled on top, nothing inside. They use several very thin layers of egg. Because of this and the lack of cheese inside, when you cut off a section to eat, it fails apart into several small pieces, making it difficult to get into my mouth. The only positive things I can say about this ihop is our nice waitress and the pancakes I had were pretty good. Everything else? Not so much. The floor, tables, and walls were completely dirty, even the menus were dirty and greasy. To check out, we waited at least 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us at the register, only to tell us that that register wasn't working and we had to go to the other one. The Hostess was extremely rude and passive aggressive. We came in as a 4 top table and gave our name. Several tables came in after us and she sat them leaving us standing up front. When we questioned her about the order of seating she accused us of being rude stating accidents happened. She went and found us a table and one of our party told her that we weren't being rude. She turned and looked me dead in the face and said if you continue to be rude we will deny you service. (I didn't speak to her at all!!) after she sat us she went back and spoke to the kitchen staff. My husband and I just ate breakfast at IHOP in Harrisburg and left completely UNHAPPY. First, we asked for fresh coffee. Didn't get it. Then, once we received our meal, the waiter returned to our table three times. Once to plop the bill on the table, another to get the bill with the credit card, and the last to return the credit card. NEVER once did he ever come to our table to ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. He made us feel like he was doing us favor. Many hotels are currently offering a grab and go breakfast because of COVID. We needed something more substantial for the hikes we had planned for the day. We weren't sure about stopping at IHOP since we have had slow and sometimes frustrating experiences with them at other locations. This one was top notch. The server was great, pleasant and got our orders out to us correctly and quickly. I had the Swedish crepes which I highly recommend. Delicious! My husband had the standard 2x2x2 which was also good. This might be TMI but we used the restrooms before leaving because parks aren't known amazing facilities. Our waitress charged us full price when I clearly told her that I was a JMU student and presented my school ID. To finish it off, she just stood there after she gave me the check, waiting for me to tip her. If you're a student at JMU, your meal will be half off every Wednesday starting from 6pm to 6am! This special is only applicable if you get something from their drink menu. I got hot chocolate since it was snowing. I went with two dishes: chicken and waffles & Colorado omelette. The chicken was a little hard to chew but the honey mustard made it better. I ordered ihop to go online. the website was not working and wouldn't allow me to finish my order with a coupon code. Second my order was missing an item completely. The food looked pathetic. Tiny and insubstantial. Third I called the restaurant and they put me on hold where they sat the phone down and I could hear everything going on, after over 5 minutes of chit chat I hung up and called back 5 times and my call was never answered.
