I love taking dates here, the service is always wonderful, even on a Saturday afternoon! The lights are nicely dimmed, the music is low, and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. The fried mushrooms and their in-house ranch are to DIE FOR!! It depends on the day, but sometimes the steaks are more stringy or fatty than others, but that's forgivable. Wait staff were always so attentive with refills or just checking in. I'd come here more often if it weren't so expensive, but everything feels expensive nowadays. Even when I order pickup, the food is always hot even when I get home! The jars that the margaritas come in are so charming, I have a whole collection of them! Medium well looks and smell burned. They can't cook a steak correctly every time I come. According to the server Madison the cooks are well experienced.. For starters, we accepted an hour and 10 minute wait because it was Saturday night. OK. It's COVID days and there is limited seating, blah,blah... Nice touch with the text when ready though. Every place should do that. Once seated by the less than friendly hostess, we waited an unusually long time for a waiter. He turned out to be friendly but not especially skilled at the job. This is the best restaurant experience I have had this year. We had a large party of five adults and five children under the age of seven. Our hosts were all smiles and support, and they worked extra hard to get us all seated together instead of splitting the party to be seated quicker. And our server was AMAZING!!! We learned later that she had been there since ten that morning and every interaction had a smile. No ones glass was ever empty and plates never piled up. She worked SO hard to make sure all of our needs were met with the best attitude. Some of you who have been a server know that a party like ours can bring a little dread. But she really made us feel welcome and valued as customers. I was incredibly impressed and we made sure that she knew how much we appreciated all of her hard work! We went to Outback on 8/18/20 for our anniversary. The hostess seated us ( there was 3 of us ) after looking around the dining room. There was another couple seated. The hostess told us we should use the QR label with our phones. My wife has cataracts so trying to read a menu on a phone was difficult at best. Our server was friendly but obnoxiously attentive. She continuously came through where we were seated and asked "Is everything tasting delicious?", about a dozen times. She didn't hang around long enough for us to tell her that ALL our food was extremely salty. Even the salads! The menu is abbreviated but they haven't reduced prices. Our meal came to about $150. Not only did the food leave a bad taste in our mouths but the overall experience did too. We will not go to Outback again! read more

My partner and I went here for her birthday. Right off the bat, the server, Tyler, took 10 minutes to greet us. When taking our orders, he rolled his eyes and gave an attitude when answering questions. He said he was going to bring us more bread, but never did. All while he brought extra bread for the tables around us. My partner's steak was ordered to be medium, but they brought it out almost blue. Because it was her birthday, you'd want dessert, right? Ok, so I'll give them this. The gentleman that stepped in to assist our waitress was actually outstanding - and the reason I gave two stars. Despite all of the flustercluck, he was able to finally get our bills straight and get us out. That said, some of the orders were wrong, the quality was meh, and it took us an hour...that's right - 1 HOUR to get our bills AFTER we were done eating. Total time in the restaurant was over 2 hours. But even this was not the kicker. When I went up to the manager to see if she could help (after our waitress went MIA) she had the worst attitude. I rarely leave a review for anything, but feel the need to after our meal tonight. After being on the road all day (Easter), my in-laws, wife and I checked into our motel and went to Outback as it was close by. We followed protocol and called to get on their wait list and showed up a few minutes early. The place was not busy - maybe 25% full and we were seated right away. The waitress took our order and was attentive all evening. The problem was that after our order was taken, we waited 45 full minutes with no meals. I finally went and found the manager and explained our problem, and he went directly to the kitchen to inquire. Surprisingly enough, our meals were brought out immediately. The manager explained that it "took some time to prepare the fresh asparagus ". WHAT???If that wasn't enough, two prime rib orders were reversed - medium rare vs medium well. Very disappointing. We may go to an Outback again, but it won't be in Harrisonburg VA. read more

I got curbside pickup today. We ordered three steaks with sides, a dinner salad and extras like grilled shrimp. I guess they are suffering from the pandemic and trying to save costs because we only got one small loaf of bread and a tiny dab of butter. I guess I will try to remember to ask for more next time. I ordered a 12 oz prime rib medium rare. Instead, was served a very sub par ribeye cooked medium well. I could barely even cut it with a steak knife. After struggling for a while with all the gristle, I had two bites and gave up. I won't be going back there. It really should have been removed from the bill, as it was inedible. read more

Went here on Saturday for my father's birthday. We were shocked at how crowded it was at 5:30pm on a Saturday---we had a 20 minute wait for a table, with a reservation. Service was average; our waitress seemed a bit rushed, like she was covering too many tables. For appetizers, we had the blooming onion (good, but a grease bomb) and the avocado and crab terrine (decent). Salads: Caesar salad was actually quite good House salad was ok, but too heavy on the dressing (ask for it on the side) Mains: Kid's grilled chicken and fries (the fries were pretty good). 14oz ribeye (cooked medium rare, and done perfectly), which I thought was the winner. 20oz porter house; half of which was cooked nicely (medium rare), but the other half of it wasn't as good and was done more medium well. Lamb chops (ordered rare, but served more medium rare); they gave 6 chops; they were very tasty. Steak and lobster tail special was appreciated (I didn't try it, so can't speak for it) Sides: Sweet potato tasted 'funny'---honey butter or something. Garlic mashed potatoes---delicious! Constant soft, warm bread brought to the table Drinks: Their beer list is fairly un-imaginative, but the sam adams seasonal was good. At least they had a bunch on draft... Their wine list is very short and un-imaginative. I realize it's probably dictated mostly or entirely by headquarters, but I'd rather not pay $25 for a bottle of alamos malbec which can be had in any grocery store for $10 (pretty much every single wine on their list is sold at Costco; their markup is about 2.5-3x retail, so not horribly, just disappointing in selection). All-in-all, good value for decent steaks (ribeye was the winner!). This place still isn't 'cheap,' but it's not too expensive either, for what it is. read more

I do not recommend. The server was so nice and the service with the manger was good, my drink was good but the steak was hard and chewy. I was traveling and stopped here. It was going well, I definitely recommend the strawberry lemonade it's delicious. We ordered our food and I got a steak and a salad. My salad came and there was a bug on the bowl. The bug went in the salad and then ran from the salad. We told our server and he handled the situation well. We paid and took our food togo because we were still hungry. We drove home and when I got home I tried the steak. The steak was hard and chewy. I didn't get my steak well done so that wasn't the problem. read more

The Queensland Chicken and shrimp pasta barely had any sauce and the chicken was dry. The Chicken on the Barbie was on the Barbie way too long as it was dry as a dessert too! This restaurant definitely needs a review about my dinning experience tonight.  I am visiting my brother in Virginia and brought my dog with me. We went to Outback because they have a small but decent outdoor pet friendly seating area. My brother has had bad luck at Outback but we decided to try it anyways.  Well, the server came out and the bread and drinks arrived very fast. That was about the extent of the positive experience other than the good conversation.   My brother ordered a 12 ounce Ribeye ($21.99) cooked med-well and I ordered a 8 ounce Victoria Filet Mignon ($23.99) cooked medium.  Well, when our steaks arrived it was apparent they were over cooked. My brothers ribeye was 80% charcoal and my filet was closer to well done than medium. The server came out shortly and he agreed the steaks were both not as ordered. He took them back and said he would have new ones cooked and right out to us. The manager came out a few minutes later and apologized and repeated what our server had said. We ate our sides and waited.... When our second set of steaks arrived the manager waited while we cut them open to make sure they were fine. They were very undercooked this time but we didn't want to send them back again. It was clear to us that the cook had tried to use high heat to rush them and that left the inside undercooked. Mine was rare on the inside but the outer edges were cooked enough for me to eat. My brothers ribeye looked good on the outside but was medium on the inside. Also, this second ribeye was about 80% fat and gristle.  The manager came back and noticed half of my uneaten steak was rare and saw the plate full of fat and gristle on my brothers plate. I asked the manager if the cook was new and he said no. Well I told him that my steak was rare but we didn't want them going back to try for a third time. The manager took me bill and said he was going to take the steak off of my tab. I thanked him and thought he would do the same for my brother.  The manager came back out and brought me a new bill with my steak removed and an exact duplicate copy of what my brother already had. We asked about my brothers steak and a discount and the manager said "because you ordered a Ribeye you expect some fat so I'm not going to comp your steak". This was my brothers second steak and it was 80% unedible gristle but he said my brother should expect that.. He did look pleased with himself when he pulled out his wallet and give my brother a free appetizer card for his next visit.   We all left the restaurant shocked that a manager would tell a customer that because you ordered a Ribeye you should expect a plate full of fat and gristle.  Here, have a free appetizer for your wasted, fatty unedible $21.99 steak..   For a steakhouse, I can't believe 4 out of 4 steaks at our table came out wrong..... but at least the bread was delicious! read more
