My mom, fiancé, and I visited this IHOP on Saturday, October 28, 2019, after I completed the Apple Valley Triathlon. We arrived about 9:30 AM, and while it was busy, we were seated right away. Our server was Maggie, and she came over to get our drink orders within a couple minutes of sitting down. You could tell that Maggie was staying busy, but she was on top of things during our entire visit and always very personable. We never felt neglected at all. My mom had the stuffed french toast, my fiancé had the french toast combo, and I had the biscuits and gravy. The food came out quickly and no one had any complaints. The food quality was what you would expect from an IHOP. We would certainly be happy to return to this location as it's close to the freeway (I-15 & Main St). The service was better than usual and the food is decently priced for the portions. read more

2 stars only because of a parking lot issue. When and if the issue is corrected I will return and update my review. I went to this location a few nights ago for pancakes. The exterior lights on the building were turned off. This with the lack of parking lot lighting made the parking lot very dark and not safe. There's several street people who frequent the area and because of the darkness it's not safe to park there or walk in the lot. The exterior lights must be kept on during darkness for the safety of customers. read more

Stopped here on our way to Vegas on a Friday morning, as i'm sure a lot of people might do. The service was pretty slow, but the food came out rather quickly. Everyone was super friendly, the eggs weren't cooked like I had asked for them, but I dreaded having them take my food away and come back 10-15 minutes later. There was a large group that ordered after we did, so I was worried, it would take a while before I got my food back. Recommend if you're hungry for breakfast, if not, there's a lot of other spots in the area for yummy food as well! read more

I see why this location has a low rating. Waited on hold for over 10 minutes to place a pickup order. Drove there and still had to wait in line to place an order and took forever. They said 20 minutes and it was over a 30 minute wait. Ridiculous service of having one person up front, seating people, taking orders, giving orders and taking the phone. It's a weekend make sure your other workers help where it's needed...not just off to the side folding menus while one person does all the work. read more

I am a flexible Vegan since I have health problems that make it easier just being Vegan but occasionally I will eat fish. My family really wanted IHOP's Chicken and Waffles and it had been a long time since we last visited. I was sure they would by now have a Vegan friendly menu.....sadly, no :( I did make due with what they had and ordered the tilapia with no sauce, broccoli and hash brown. It was so happy when they brought out this big portion of tilapia. It tasted great and the waitress was so nice. My only complaint, is them not having a Vegan selection. It really isn't that hard. There are now so many plant based burgers and a vegan pancake would be Amazing! So, overall, we left happy and full. read more

I don't find many restaurants, especially chain restaurants, as clean and as friendly as this one. I was on my way back home to Las Vegas, with my two adult children, and stopped in Hesperia for breakfast. My experience on 2021-09-29 was beyond excellent, mostly due to the service of our waitress Maggie. It's rare to feel so welcome, and like family, in most places anymore, especially in chain restaurants. Thank you Maggie for a very pleasant experience. It's an IHOP, folks. Seriously, what are your expectations? It's always open. The food is pretty consistent. The servers are overworked and underpaid and if you're nice to them, they'll appreciate it. We got a nice break from the road trip from LA to Vegas (isn't that everyone who stops here?) and got some hot food in us. The waitress was a sweetheart and we didn't spend a lot. It's IHOP.... I'm not sure I need to review the food. Yes, it's a chain and yes, haters will hate, but I've always liked IHOP. You get a free meal on your birthday, and my mom insists on coming to this location every year for hers. Service has always been friendly and on point, each time I've visited. Even last Sunday, when it was packed during lunchtime, we were seated within 10 minutes. I always like ordering the breakfast crepes. The carafes of coffee and the different varieties of syrup on your table are always cool, too. And they always play cool oldies, and I always sing. They serve create-your-own-pancake-faces (with different DIY toppings) to keep the kids entertained, and they also have a balloon artist walking around the restaurant, only charging tips. She made my mom a birthday cupcake bracelet that was even scented, she made my boyfriend's son a snake with a curled tail, a tongue, and eyes, and she made me a giraffe hat! When I ask most balloon artists for giraffes, it's beyond their skill level, but this woman asked me, "Do you want a standing giraffe, or a hat?" Like a boss. Best balloon artist I've ever seen! Unfortunately, the snake was played with a little too much and lost half his body before we left the parking lot, but we still had good fun. I realize that most of this article was about balloon animals, but my point is that this IHOP has always offered us down-home, friendly service and good experiences, even while being a chain. This was on Christmas night, I call Ihop at 7:45 and ask if they are open and they say yes. So we drive over there arriving at 7: 50 and walk in. One employee comes over and said "we are not taking anymore walkins" I tell her we just called to ask if you were open and someone told us yes, and now 10 minutes before your scheduled closing you refuse to serve us! It's IHOP, you know what to expect for the most part. This location does a very good job of what they offer though. Food is good straight up. Bacon and eggs are not over cooked, pancakes are fluffy, and their promotional specials offer a lot of food at an affordable price. Servers are very friendly and service is quick. Place gets packed out for breakfast and early lunch but is usually a ghost town for dinner time. The quality stays consistent regardless of time of day though. For another chain in the high desert, they do a good job. My biggest gripe is they have Pepsi instead of Coke! Ew! Delicious sweet tea is a good sub for that Coke though! read more

I think IHOP is the run of the mill average chain food experience. It doesn't wow me but it doesn't make me hate it either. My parents really wanted to eat here and since my boyfriend and I never go, we thought why not? Service was really slow. It took a long time to get food out to tables! Waitress was super apologetic because she was busy and food was taking awhile. She did make sure our coffee was always refilled though. The coffee tasted fresh and super hot. The big plus here was the pumpkin pancakes. It tasted like pumpkin pie!! Everything else was average but I still enjoyed it. read more

I moved to Hesperia about two years ago and this was our first time visiting IHOP . The portions were small, the food was ok tasting. I asked for my son and I to have our bacon cooked extra crispy and it came to us hardly cooked at all. I asked for it to please be recooked extra crispy and it came back still under cooked. I ordered a basic breakfast that came with unlimited pancakes, and my waitress recommended I try some of the specialty pancakes so I took her advice and ended up trying two different kinds while there. When I got the bill I saw I was charged extra for each "specialty" pancake! I asked the waitress and was told those cost extra.. well I nicely told her she should have mentioned that while convincing me to order them.. she didn't take the cost off and I was disappointed with the whole experience. I am 24 years old I have worked in customer service for 8 years. choosing to be happy is not difficult and it's not hard to be patient. We came in for not even 20 minutes, my fiancé had gone to the bathroom and I had left my phone in the car. They had dropped off a water for us and after I returned from the car was asked by a Michelle (not sure if this was her name or the manager who had helped my fiancé but she was a older woman with dyed red ish brown hair and a crooked nose wearing a purple shirt) if we were ready again and I had said no because my fiancé was still gone. For context i understand how annoying it would be if a couple came in and ordered a water while one is in the bathroom and the other is at the table but it wasn't that serious. When we were finally ready to order I had ordered my food after she cut me off and pointed to the picture on the menu like I'm a kid, and berated my fiancé idc which way you look at it she just wanted spicy tenders with a stack of 4 pancakes and the woman asked her 5 different times in less then a minute, (no I am not lying) "WHAT DO YOU WANT", "This one or that one". While she doing her most my fiancé is starting to shy away from ordering cause the woman is getting louder while slapping the menu at different angles and jabbing her finger at it to "Help" her. After she finished she snatched the menu and I had to keep myself from snatching her up I condone violence and putting my hands on a woman, however my fiancé is 25 NOT A CHILD, point blank the customer service has propted me to go to Denny's as long as I live in Hesperia unless the Victorville location better or she is no longer working. read more

Took a total of 31 minutes to get a server to come to the table. Food arrived to the table after 48 mins of ordering, bad customer service no attention and servers rolling their eyes when we ordered utensils when we received the food. Note we are aware that orange juice isn't refilled and we asked for another request for 1 orange juice for our kid. She had already printed the receipt without asking us if we were done. When we asked for the orange juice she stared like we had just pissed her off. After bringing the receipt back it showed 4 orange juices when we only had a total of 2. Over charged and the food was not very well suited. Eggs over cooked, burger undercooked (although I asked for well done) waitress rolled her eyes when we asked for a side of ranch as well. My Daughter's pancakes were not cooked all the way. Husband asked for Sausage received bacon we let them know they never replaced it. Will not go back to IHOP. Pancakes are very good, but my friends mom had got a raw pancake but service is well. Hair literally everywhere on our food and utensils.

Ugh kinda a very bad disappointment honestly. If your here and you order t bone steak and airline steak remember to keep your eyes open on the menu they charged to change your pancakes and to change eggs to egg whites. Informed waitress of problem she was not very helpful she just wanted to prove us wrong. We paid for our meal but don't argue with customers just cuz IHOP changed there menu so many times. I told her if she had told us in the beginning about the charges were extra for everything I told her I probably would have never ordered it. When we got to IHOP it was around 7:40. Maybe two other tables were seated. The server was nice. She was attentive. Brought our drinks out right away. She came back in a timely manner. We put our orders in. Everything was going smooth. That's when the wait kicked in lol Look we understand how things work in kitchen. But seriously 45 mins? The two tables were cleared by time we got our food. Maybe just one cook? We don't know. But what we do know is we loaded ourselves up with our drinks! We were served 10 mins till 9. We dug in and shared some of our dishes. The food was good no complaints. I asked for my check and that's where I got irritated. I noticed she had charged a few extra items I didn't even get! The waitress was short 15 on top of that. Mind you it's weds night slow as hell! No big deal right? I kindly asked her to fix her mistake. Her reactions wasn't the best. But I get it... I'd be embarrassed to for the lack of math efforts. After bringing out my change the second time I noticed I was still short 5. Now just when I was going to tell her keep it. She starts to get nervous and tell me she charged me for the kids meals and she will reapply the discounts! Mind you I'm right over her shoulder so I think I made her nervous lol But as I'm writing this... I still can't figure out If I went home with the right change. Because when she came back that third time. It was still the amount I had when I first got it lol I know what you're thinking. "I'm confused!" Yeah totally me right now. She was such a hot mess it just wasn't worth the 10 or 5 that was mine. Whether she was tryna make a quick extra tip or truly is shi*** at math.. I'll never know! Just bottom line pay attention to what you order and your change given back. Funny thing is I never bother to check that at end of Meals. I'm always ready to go. But nope today I had time. My daughter's high school basketball team showed up after a CIF playoff game last night, and were turned away because there were only two servers working. Let's just say players and parents combined totaled at least 25. Now, I know it was Valentines Day and all, but come on IHOP management, two servers for the biggest night of romantic dinners;)?! 3 stars because the hostess was super nice and the food was pretty good considering it is an ihop in the high desert. The waitress stopped at our table 4 times, once to ask for coffees and once to get our order. The 3rd time I wouldn't really consider it a stop it was more of a pass by. As she passed us she quickly asked if everything was good, she didn't even hear our answer and she was already gone. Then she came by the last time to bring the check. I waved her down once because we asked for water and she brought one water for 2 of us. The coffee pitcher she left had stains all over the pitcher. The handle was completely soaked and dripping coffee as if she just filled it. But the pitcher didn't have enough in it to fill up one small mug. She was busy but her service was horrible and she didn't smile once or even look at us. It was more like we were an inconvenience more than anything. Then when we went to pay she came over to check on the tip we were giving. I always give at least 15% tip no matter what, unless you just straight up like this lady. Never caught her name because I only saw her a couple times in passing. She was mad dogging us as we walk out because she thought that we should have tipped her large for horrible service. I'll pay for my food, give you a 12% percent tip and leave. I'll probably not come back because this was yet again another bad experience at this store. I don't expect 5 star service at an ihop but damn, this was sub par to say the least. 3 stars is more than generous. read more

This was a reminder why u don't EVER eat at IHOP....... For lack of other choices and being in the boonies late night on a road trip... this was the only place besides Denny's. Place was empty except two other tables, The waitress was ok nothing that wow'd us. After we ordered It took forever to get a chicken ceasar salad we ordered and a chicken/waffles plate. I thought i was just there for dinner but I almost died. All of sudden as I'm eating this mediocre cold chicken Ceasar I felt something hard in the back of my throat. I thought could this b a seed? A piece of super crisp lettuce? NO way this is too hard; its not chicken, as i became more concerned with what was in my mouth, I tried to pull it out of my mouth before i swallowed it.... however parts of this hard piece of PLASTIC had already broke off & slipped down my throat. Omg something sharp and pointy slowly went down my throat. What was it??? It was a yellow piece of Plastic the kind that ties around a bread bag and has EXP on it. This piece of plastic was disgustingly and obliviously tossed in with my Cesar salad. What filth. I felt another corner of this sharp plastic fall from my back tooth & go down my throat ........ I called the waitress immediately, she offered to get me something else? Really? No thanks I was disgusted. What else did they do in that kitchen? What other UN-sanitary habits did they practice in that kitchen I thought. No manager came to check on us...wow. My friends dinner was free but I didnt care I walked out sick to my stomach. Stopped in this morning to get a bite to eat at this IHOP. The waitress Cheryl was wonderful. However my food was not so great. The cook was slow at cooking my food and it was burnt. I will not eat at this IHOP ever again. I would like to thank the manager Pamela for comping my meal due to the unsatisfactory experience I encountered with my meal. They encounter that I had was that we were seated before four other families and their food came out before ours. It was only three people in my party and we did not have a big order. Our food was lukewarm when it finally arrive to our table. I had to complaint to the manager to find out why it was taking so long for our food when others had sat down after us and they were eating while we were still waiting on our meal. read more

The service is so horrible here I refuse to go back. My husband and my 3 toddlers went out to eat at this restaurant. We got seated and for the next 30 mins that's all we saw of any service for our table. No drinks, none of our orders were taken. Seriously...do they understand what it's like to keep 3 toddlers entertained when they're starving for 30mins? My husband finally flagged another waitress to see what was going on only to find our server went on break. Where was the replacement server? Why would they sit us if they weren't ready for us?
