6/28/2026. I walked into the restaurant roughly around 2.45 PM and walked out around 3.15 PM. There were 3 tables with diners. Nothing but silence as there was no crowd. I glanced between a cartoon playing on the tv and a young man seated facing me in the distance. Still waiting. The man sweeping the floor acknowledged me with several glances as I waited more. Finally the young man seated in the distance approached me. The brief exchange was pleasant enough. However, he walked me to my seat, left the menu and silverware and walked away. I waited even more thinking my server was someone different. The same young man was sweeping nearby and I asked him who is my server. Lo and behold, the same person who seated me. The same person who didn't ask me for my drink order and the same person who politely told me that I could have told him what I wanted if I knew what I wanted to order (me biting my lip and batting my eyes). He then brings me a dirty coffee pot that had syrup stuck on the lid and dry coffee stains on the side containing cold coffee (yes I was curious if the coffee was hot). I sighed and grabbed my pocketbook, walked to the front where my server, who is now on the phone watching me, stood with the sweeper and another young man. I stated 'cancel my order. You served me cold coffee in a dirty pot!' I walked out and drove to Kendall Park. It took 13 minutes to be seated and served. Noticed that if the server is not the one who accomodates you at first then other staff would not take a notice of you instead only the tables they have catered. High chairs are filthy. Memorial Day breakfast, 2025. I haven't been to this IHOP in many years. It was nicely renovated. Restaurant was clean and my server was outstanding. It was just after the 7am opening and he was working the tables alone. Was friendly and professional. He took my order perfectly. Food was delicious and prepared perfectly. You know what you're getting when you visit any IHOP. The food is OK, service is typically fine, and the atmosphere is sort of shabby and worn. This one was no different, although the service was much better than some of the others we've visited. Hash browns were woefully undercooked, 2 out of the 3 pancake orders had undercooked pancakes, and the eggs were really greasy. When there are so many great diners around in Jersey, the only reason to go to an IHOP is if it's the only thing in the area and you really want pancakes! read more

The service here was absolutely horrendous. My partner placed an online order yesterday night because the website said the kitchen was still open. When she went to pick up the online order, the staff was just standing around doing nothing and didn't even bother to prepare her food. Instead, the workers offered her someone else's food that was never picked up! Who even knows how long ago that order was prepared?? The workers made my partner feel uncomfortable even entering the restaurant like she was doing something wrong! I visited this establishment today to order from the 7.00 Fav menu. This establishment has a young employee staff. From my observation, all servers seemed to be diligently working to serve customers. Unfortunately it took quite a bit of time for me to receive my order. I would like to commend my server Jaime who out of his control was constantly checking in with me to ask if there was anything I needed while my order was pending .His service was exceptional! Also the manager on hand came to my table and personally apologized for the delay in receiving my order. In conclusion , things happen and at this location the server and the manager apologized for the inconvenience .This was good business and good customer service overall. read more

As a former employee at this very IHOP, I am deeply disappointed to say that the standards of cleanliness and safety are far from acceptable. There are roaches crawling around nearly every surface, and nothing ever gets a thorough cleaning. For several months, they did not use soap on their dishes, merely rinsing them with water. The staff has repeatedly addressed these issues with the boss; however, he is an entitled, corrupt man focused solely on saving or making money, even at the expense of customer and employee safety. I have witnessed him take food out of the trash and send it back to the cooks. During my time working there, I did not receive any benefits or accommodations for the challenges we faced. We even had instances where customers would send back bottles of syrup filled with ants, and his solution? You guessed it--nothing. He would come in every weekend, boss us around, and act as if he knew what was happening. The owner of this IHOP is a cruel and misguided individual. He recently ruined relationships with an important employee, the only person keeping the place running smoothly, simply because he did not want to pay them the bonus they were promised for not taking time off. This situation reflects how poorly this business is managed, and in my opinion, it should be boycotted. There are two bosses at this establishment: one is Nick, a kind man who used to be a well-loved manager, and the other is Rakesh Kumar, who is the problem. Rakesh Kumar is an evil man with a heart of coal. He has no standards for safety or comfort for his employees and customers; he only cares about how he can get an extra cent into his pocket. read more

I don't know why this IHOP has such bad reviews. But honestly we were just driving by after an ice hockey game and felt like stopping. I ordered the fresh and fruity combo. The bacon was meh. The pancakes and eggs were good. The coffee was hot but they wouldn't give me milk for my coffee. Only 1/2 and 1/2 .... Weird. My son got some breakfast burrito which looked good. This was a typical location. The table sat at was not cleaned completely, which was not ideal. The menu had more options than I remembered previously. The staff was friendly and the food came out in a timely matter. I went with one of their combo deals. I had the vanilla spice pancakes with the sausage and egg combo ($8.99). There were 2 pancakes with vanilla mousse spiced with cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and cardamom. They were tasty and not too sweet. There was a pleasant scent to them too with all of those spices. The sausage and eggs came with 4 pork sausage links, 2 eggs, and golden hash browns. I ordered my eggs poached. I did not really have any complaints with any of this. Will I go back? I'm giving this place 5 stars because it is the best IHOP that I've been to in this area and its surrounding ones. On this occasion I ordered the spinach and mushroom omelette. It was delicious. My only suggestion is asking for the hollandaise sauce on the sauce or without it completely if you've never tried hollandaise before. In my opinion, it's an acquired taste that I don't particularly like. I chose for my omelette to come with my favorite pancakes, the New York Cheesecake pancakes which are topped off with strawberries (which I then drench in strawberry syrup), yum. This establishment is always clean, the service is speedy and friendly and even though on the weekends there tends to be a long wait during the morning and early afternoon hours, it's worth it. read more

Truly disgusting- A chicken finger from my friends order was dropped on the ground and not replaced. A half eaten sausage was served to me. The servers were so incredibly rude and ignored everything that was asked such as, to take our orders and to get us more napkins. My family and I have been coming to this IHOP for seven years. We usually do take out since we live nearby. Today I was doing an Uber Eats Delivery for a customer. The app said to wait in the parking lot. I've come to this location and followed the directions on Uber. An employee would bring the order to the car. This time I called and let the person know I arrived. This woman rudely told me to come inside. I don't mind coming inside. Most restaurants require that we come inside to pick up. I was simply following directions. When I went inside I politely told her and showed her what drivers see in the app. I also let her know that she can change what drivers see in the app to make things easier for everyone. She responded to me rudely saying " I don't care. At this location you come inside." Which clearly shows she was not listening and assuming that I didn't want to come inside. I asked for her name and she wouldn't tell me. She said she's the manager and walked away. I had to ask another employee. He said her name is Nyelle. I'm honestly appalled that a person with that type of nasty, demeaning attitude is a manager of an establishment. Oh my what a exactly I should have read the reviews before I made this mistake. The food was horrible the customer service is worst. My pancakes were so cold that the butter didn't melt and I was able to lift it like layered biscuits. The manager treated like I was trying to get a free meal I paid for the food and the 30 percent discount she was trying to give me for the cold ass pancakes. If I could give 0 stars I would. My husband and I went for a quick, simple meal. Ordered a chicken sandwich because it was advertised with avocado, and when it came out there was none. I asked, our server said "oh we are out." Would have been good to know sooner. Following this, there was no music on in the restaurant so all 4 tables in there were essentially silent. I visited IHOP on Monday afternoon just prior to the arrival of the early bird special diners. Only 1 or 2 tables were occupied. We were seated and ordered coffee & iced tea and specialty pancakes. After a short wait our drinks arrived and then a runner brought our pancakes. I usually avoid pancakes out since most places do not offer pure maple syrup but these cakes were sweet and delicious with the unique toppings. Easy to see why this brand was built around the pancakes. Our server never came back to check on us. My wife had to get up to find someone to refill her drink. I realize that it was slow but every employee was staring into their smart phone and no one was watching the dining room. The franchise owner was either absent or doesn't care that the service sucks. We went here for a birthday breakfast for my brother in law last Sunday. We are notttt an easy group to handle. We make changes to every order, ask for a million different things..that's why we were worried when our server, Jose, wasn't writing out order down. All of us asked him to write it down because even when servers write our orders down, they end up messing something up. He has a better memory than anyone I've ever met! Just visited the IHOP in Hillsborough on 206. When we arrived our initial server was Omar. He brought us our drinks and then disappeared. He was on his phone, talking outside, then eating his dinner. We were ready to walk out. The only other server in the building Jose saw our dissatisfaction and came over took our order and apologized for the terrible service. The table right next to us had Omar as there server, they waiting 15 minutes for him to take there order then waiting 20 minutes for there food, and another 15 minutes for there check. Hello...I wanted to just write this simple review on IHOP in Hillsborough... I went there about 12:00pm Lunch time...most of the parking lot was filled only few spots available to park... I went inside the main lobby the first guy I saw he was at the podium and he looked like he was suppose to take your name...and let one of the servers know that people were to be seated. Well like I said he looked like he was supposed to do something but he looked lost, dazed, and confused. I don't know how long he was standing there already but that is all he did. He didn't say "Hello" no greeting of any kind... I am not sure if IHOP people don't pay there people or staff well...I had to make the first move and ask him I want to order take out. He pointed to the cashier people to do my order there. I go to the cashier people and asked and they pointed me back to the useless podium guy..He gave me menu... Someone quickly or shortly after help me with my order... this is why I change my mind and gave 4 stars because of her help...the register person help me and I paid for my order and things went more safely from that point on... read more

Sooooo slow. I ordered a large order for a hungry film crew (like 25 people) I called in at 10am and said I was going to pickup at 12:30pm. That was plenty of time as I even called the night before saying I would put in a large order and asked how much time they would need. They said 2 hours max. I get here at 12:39 after getting a special order for someone else and it's 1:05 as I'm writing this and I'm still waiting on 4 more orders. When I put the food in my car the lids are falling off because they weren't properly locked in place, and they're dragging their feet. The store isn't even that full and my pressed for time takeout order should've been top priority. Also I got yelled at because THEY didn't label any of the food. It was a 25 person order, why wouldn't you think to label the orders when half of them look the same? And they didn't secure the lids so when I put the food in my car the lids started popping off and could've spilled in my car. read more

I went here last Friday for dinner with my kids. I was so excited because I read all reviews here. But I was very disappointed. When I entered, I saw the sign "kids eat free on friday". When I got a bill, I saw that kids meal were charged. I went to cashier to ask it. I am not sure if he is manager, but he seemed manager, and he told me he could help me. When I asked this to him, he didn't eye contact and treated me like a peanuts. I got kids meal free but I was very insulted. And I ordered kids ice cream sundae, it was the worst sundae ever.
