I haven't been to an Applebee's in almost 20 years, and I really did not have high expectations going in, but it was actually better than I remembered! Hey hey Adventurers! Grabbed dinner here after a Yelp event and it was the perfect amount of people being there. We ordered the spicy bucket--not too bad but I think if you don't drink it fast enough it gets watered down. I had the Oriental chicken salad and found myself with lunch for the next day. It was really good and plenty of portioning. My friend had the chicken and shrimp sizzle plate which they devoured. I'd say this is a great spot for a quick bite--generic food chain but great service and quiet crowd. read more

I was disappointed by Applebees the other day. I ordered Hot Honey Chicken and fries. It comes with onions and mushrooms in a spicy sauce. I asked the waitress to have them hold the mushrooms as I cannot stand mushrooms. I also asked for extra sauce. The plate came with mushrooms and very little sauce , let alone extra sauce. I don't know if the waitress did not communicate my desires to the chef or the chef simply did not care, but someone made me disappointed. read more

The order was placed for a curbside pickup. This was ordered due to having an old gift card that needed to be used. They were very fast with getting the food ready compared to what the order confirmation time stated, which was a positive. The boneless Buffalo wings ($10.99) were ordered. There were about 10 or so medium sized pieces of chicken. They were not as saucy as I would have liked. Overall, they were okay. They did grow on me as I kept eating. The chicken was of solid quality, but just was expecting more with the Buffalo flavor. Will I go back? Debatable. read more

My go to is the bourbon chicken. And every time I've had it, it's been amazing and delicious! But this past Tuesday, it was terrible! I don't know if it was another cook, but it lacked flavor, hardly any shrimp, mushrooms and onions. And the broccoli that I ordered on the side was mushy. However!! I called and spoke to Angela the manager. She was professional. She was thoughtful. And she provided a resolution! A HUGE thank you to Angela! I took my three kids (3, 4, and 16 yrs) to lunch to this location and what I got I return was my oldest Daughter and I becoming sick the following day. We both had the chicken dishes. Applebee's finally added more vegetarian options. I wish they went to the next level and added some plant-based options, but honestly, I'm just impressed they caught up to vegetarianism. This particular Applebee's is one of the go-to hangouts for the local high-schoolers, so you might randomly stumble into an extremely busy restaurant. Fortunately, the staff is used to this and service is fast. The food is decent and the drinks are generally affordable. Once again my brother Louis & I, Louisa visited Applebee's in Hillsborough, NJ on 3/22/22 and once again we were more than satisfied. When we arrived we were so glad to be greeted by Mary Ann Nittolo with her beautiful gold glitter eye shadow and her beautiful style in clothes and most of her her beautiful manner of welcoming us. Our server Anthony C. was as we experienced before. so welcoming and so professional. We didn't have to give him our order. He remembered it from our previous visits. Our food as usual was as follows: 1) Three french onion soups (the best!) - 2 for me and 1 for my brother. 2) The luscious 8 oz. sirloin steak (the best!) 3) The OrIental Chicken salad wrap - wow! 4) The Blondie dessert - Yummy!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sad to see the Oriental Chicken Salad portion has been greatly reduced. I received my Uber Eats Salad and either the driver ate the majority of my chicken or they cut way back. The chicken pieces were very tiny and put together, there may have been 1 chicken fingers. The salad itself was a cheap mix and also not a lot. There were a lot of noodles, if you like that. The Salad dressing is very good or I would have given them a 1 star review. Either raise your price or make less profit, but this meal was terrible the way you prepared it. read more

They should probably close the place - fruit fly infestation all over the bar. They have to put a plate of sugar a little bit away from you while you try to eat. They need a good exterminator. I read the other reviews with complaints about service, but I went here at 3 PM on a Wednesday so it was pretty dead. We got the mozzarella sticks and honey bbq boneless wings to start. Both were DELICIOUS! The mozzarella sticks were perfectly cooked and the wings sauce was really good. For my entree I did the lunch combo and got a mac & cheese bowl topped with chicken tender bits with a caesar salad. I have to say that unfortunately I thought the mac and cheese was absolutely disgusting. My niece looked at it and said "it looks like soup", and it really did. The flavor was not good at all and I was just so grossed out. The caesar salad was good but it's kinda hard to mess that up. My niece had chicken fingers with fries and that was very good. Overall I'd say come here for some good appetizers! They've got some great deals with apps too, where you can combine different ones for a pretty decent price. read more

Applebee's has ok food. The best time is to come for half off appetizers. On this particular night, I came with my sister and boyfriend. Unfortunately, our waitress was not the best, hence I took away two stars. She did not bring out any utensils until after our food came and we had to hunt her down. Also, she messed up my boyfriend's drink order three times. All he wanted was a gin and club. First, he got some virgin shirly temple thing. Next, he got a cherry coca cola and gin. Great service! Our server, Beth, was very kind. One of the best servers we have had in a long time (anywhere, not just this restaurant). The general manager also came by to check on us, which was very kind. I then saw him bus a table which I think is really great. Our food was really good. I ordered the chicken stir fry, and it was so good. My fiancé ordered the chicken parm, which was also good, but the sauce was a little sweet for his tastes. Had a lovely lunch/dinner with mom on the 4th of July. Restaurant was quiet and clean. Roomy. Botha were very nice. Food was delicious and great portions. Bartender was our server. Would have been 5 stars but the server who was supposed to have our table approached the bartender and said to him "want to make some extra money? Can you pick up table X because I was supposed to be on my lunch awhile ago". How rude! She also had a sticker on her name badge that said she was like trainer of the year or something last year!!! Reason #257 I don't eat at chain restaurants: Applebee's. I'll preface this by saying that I only dined here in order to use a gift card. In hindsight, I should've let the card collect dust. This was the worst meal I've had in recent memory. Even the side salad was bad and I don't know how that's possible. The food is all clearly frozen and reheated, which is a crime in-and-of-itself. The service was ok and the whole place had a palpable unclean feeling. The only positive to this experience was that I did not have to wait, as did other people on a Friday evening, because I chose to sit at the bar. Any restaurant by the name Applebee's is on par with fast food and should be avoided at all costs. read more

Service has significantly declined since this past fall; all the great servers have left, apparently due to the new general manager's tyranny. This new general manager said he took over last July, and since then, I noticed that portion sizes have gotten a lot smaller--pasta dishes are half the sizes they used to be; I can count the number of fries on my plate; quesadillas have nearly no meat and cheese inside. The last few times I was there, my tables had been filthy and the silverware was dirty as well. I would never complain to a manager about things like that, but I think that is definitely something to take note of. I stopped going there because of its swift decline and suggest all to avoid at all costs. If you ever have a craving for Applebee's, the Bridgewater one is not too far away, and it is certainly worth the drive. read more

So I must admit that I love the quesadilla burger. I know, I know, it's probably horrible for me but my friend and I go to this location to get one every few weeks. Lately, the service has been atrocious. It's as if the waitresses don't work for tips or something. Not only was our waitress rude but they also are inconsiderate. We couldn't even get a refill on water. Then, our waitress and another waitress got into a fight in front of our table. Meanwhile, my friend's burger was the greasiest thing I have ever seen while mine was fine. Who even knows what goes on back there. Worst takeout experience. Ordered through Yelp, they never received the order and I ended up wasting an hour. They just looked around and didn't even tell me what was going on until i asked whether they didn't receive my order. I told him I'll cancel the order from grubhub and leave, and he plainly said have a nice day. I don't get upset easily and I didn't say anything back, but to mess up like that and not even apologize. I suppose for the money it's pretty good. The biggest problem for me is that often times the seasoning is so different on some days. Some days it's too salty other days it's perfect. My other issue is the 2 for $20. I understand because it's such a cheap deal that the main entrees have less quality to them as compared to ordering it as a stand alone dish in house.
