While you can see the building and sign, it's a bit hard to get to. You sort of meander along New Country road to the rear of the building, then drive through the parking lot to get to the front entrance. Entering or exiting New Country road onto Hamill can be rather difficult at various times of the day. We had to drive past the road and turn around as traffic was backed up on Hamill and we could not turn left. Once we got into the parking lot and drove around to the front, all was well. The parking a plentiful and handicapped spaces are placed near the front door. Walking into the building shows a typical IHOP setup with a hostess station right in front. We were seated immediately, and our server came by quickly to take our drink order. We ordered our food when the drinks arrived. The food arrived at our table in about 15 minutes. The breakfast sampler has two eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, hash browns, and two pancakes. The eggs were a bit undercooked from what was ordered while the meats were a bit overcooked. The hash browns were ok, but close to being overcooked. The pancakes were excellent. I ate everything but the pancakes, which I did take to go. The meal was filling if not necessarily cooked as ordered. The classic eggs benedict was a better choice. The eggs were cooked as expected as was the ham. The hollandaise sauce was fine but probably not home made. The hash browns were a bit overcooked. Our server was excellent, being attentive without being intrusive and also very personable. Unfortunately, the meals were only fine and did not match the excellent service. I'm not normally a big fan of the IHOP brand, but this one is decidedly different. Their food is good! And the customer service we received was top notch! I had the Breakfast Sampler, which comprised of 2 eggs, 2 bacon slices, 2 sausages, 2 French toast, hash browns, and a short stack of (3) pancakes, along with OJ and a pot of coffee. I was so hungry! It would've been difficult to finish my plate had this been bad food, but since it allll was sooo excellent, I ate everything except one egg and a pancake. Piggy. Lol. Our waitress was a sweetie. She did such a great job handling it all with such finesse that I gave her a huge tip. She provided excellent service and great conversation. The restaurant was relatively busy for the hour we dined there, which was just a few hours before the dinner hour. The hostess greeted us when we walked inside and took us to a booth that I slid into while I mentioned how spacious and comfortable it was. The hostess handed each of us a menu and our waitress was at our table within minutes placing our drink orders. I ordered lemonade. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She was carried all drinks to our table and poured the coffee into the cup while balancing the other drinks. She set the coffee cup down and had the cream served heaping over a small bowl that she sat down the orange juice. Then the lemonade. I could taste the lemon flavors bursting all over the palate where I could taste the sweet and the tart. Here comes the French Toast that arrived table side piping hot with a dollop of butter in the middle that started melting as it was placed in front of me. The dollop and butter and butter pecan had nice flavors. I could taste the egg wash that makes me love this even more. The edges were crisp. The lemonade is a palate cleanser that was a nice addition. ~~~~~~~ I noticed there was about two other waitresses that were waiting on the larger tables and our waitress was waiting on the smaller tables. This place is NASTY & has become bottom of the barrel! I know there are staffing issues but... whew! Pretty much all the staff are disheveled & look to have hygiene awareness issues. Our waitress was also the greeter. She was actually very nice & seemed to care. For example, the 1st table was very dirty. So she found a less dirty table for us She tried to pay attention while serving, greeting, possibly plating, and conversing with co-workers. Possibly bc the staff were in the back discussing their life's dreams (or complaining about the job. Who knows). My meal was ok. Another waitress had her thumb on my pancake when she brought it out I didn't complain bc I was ready to leave & didn't want them to pretend to remake it. The pancake that I ate was pretty good. The bacon was very thin & tasted old. The eggs were wrong & looked like they melted a slice of cheese on top. I didn't complain though. Overall, 2 stars is gracious. The floors and tables are dirty. There seems to be a common theme at this particular IHOP, under-staffing leads to long wait times for servers and food. They recently remodeled the building and have packed the tables in but for some reason there never seems to be quite enough staff to accommodate the number of diners. We were seated immediately and our order was taken pretty quickly but drinks went unfilled and the when food arrived more than 30 minutes later, the order wasn't quite right. My husband and I paid an upcharge for cheesecake pancakes but were given regular ones instead. Yeah, I know, first world problems, right ;-) but it took another 20 minutes for the problem to be fixed and at that point, we just wanted to leave. The food was good. I ordered a country omelette which was massive and delicious and actually made three meals for me. My husband was happy with the steak tips, which were cooked to order and given in a generous portion. I mentioned the remodel earlier in the review, which is why I was so surprised when I saw the deplorable condition of the bathroom. It had not been cleaned in a while. The floor was worse than a movie theater and the latch on the stall was ragged. These small problems add up and make it difficult to want to return. read more

RACIST RESTAURANT We have ordered through Grubhub before and we have never had a problem, because I physically pick up the order (I am light skin complexion). This time my husband got off the car to pick up the order, he is NOT light skin complexion. He waited about 25 min, for an order that was READY for pickup. Other people came in after him and got their orders, no problem for them because they were light complexion..... Our food had already been paid for, not sure why they could not simply give him the order.. I contacted Grubhub while my husband waited inside the restaurant, the representative called the restaurant and they were rude to her! OK, I have been to IHOP more times than I can count. It has good food, it is reasonable and they are all pretty much the same. They have specials constantly and it is a great place to go for breakfast and other meals. I will be honest, I only think of IHOP for breakfast and that is all I have ever had. This is right over the dam on Highway 153 with plenty of off site parking. I went there with my son and his wife on Sunday, October 22nd around 9 AM. No crowd and no wait. What made this dining experience so pleasant and so unique? One reason, and one reason only; it was our waiter, Erik. His positive up beat attitude, attention to detail and service surprised not only me, but my son and his wife (also Elite Yelp members). When he brought our meals, my son and my eggs were eggs were overcooked and before we could even say anything, he said these are not right, I have more coming. He constantly checked on us but was not intrusive and he seemed to know everything we needed before we did. We were impressed. As a side note, try the sausage breakfast. I ordered the polish like sausage dinner with eggs and hash browns. The picture only shows one sausage but you always get two so if you like them, I would suggest you give it a try. IHOP is a typical breakfast place and would normally consider it a three. However, this one was cleaner than most I have been in and the service was exceptional so I have to give it a 4+ or a 5.... My family and I came here this morning around 10:30am because we were very hungry and had been running around all morning. The place was fairly busy but there were plenty of seats open and no line. We waited for around 5 -10 minutes before we were seated. When we were seated we waited another 10 minutes before anyone came to ask us what we wanted to drink. When our waitress came back with our drinks a few minutes later she put her bare hands all over the rim of all of our cups. One of the coffee cups had lipstick mark on the rim of it. I want to say another thing about this waitress as well but I'm not trying to be rude or anything but I have to say it because this is a restaurant and especially with covid happening. The waitress was not cleanly in any manner. I had told my uncle she had a body odor but he hadn't noticed because he didn't really look her way. My uncle noticed when she came back the second time that she had sweat all over her and grey spots all over her shirt and armpits. Mind you, at this point it has been about 30 minutes and we have only gotten our drinks. Our waitress not once came and asked us if we needed refills, the coffee was cold, and I had noticed that there was food on the server station that had been up there for about 15 minutes and the piles of food kept stacking up. An older couple that had already been sitting when we got seated, had said "this is bullshit I'm done," and walked out already. They had only gotten their drinks and some syrup and they had been there longer than we had. Finally after seeing (what looked like our food) up on the server station for about 20 minutes, we decided that was enough. So we walked out. I don't ever complain on these things because I do understand that restaurant work can be difficult. But this was my final straw. This has made me not want to eat at restaurants period anymore let alone another IHOP. The sad thing is that our waitress was wearing a white shirt like a manager wears. This was the worst service I have ever experienced. Then as we were walking out the waitress noticed us leaving and asked if we were leaving. I said yes we are. And all she said was "I'm sorry." Most places will at least ask if there is anything that they can do to make it better. Or offer a coupon or something. 2 families that I know of left because of the terrible service this person gave just this morning. I had my 12 year old daughter with me as well and she was very hungry before we got there. We were there for probably 45 minutes - an hr. No one was wearing gloves. Everyone was touching the plates very close to the food. The waitresses are not cleanly at all and I think our waitress was actually the manager. This place needs to be looked at because this can cause serious problems especially with the current covid situation and how unsanitary it is there. I have read a few reviews that state they were understaffed and that might have been the issue. My only problem is that some of the waitresses were busting butt getting, to go orders, filled. They were kicking butt at that. But the cooks were dishing out plates one by one and half the waitresses were just standing around doing nothing. There were probably 5 or 6 waitresses in there with around half the useable tables being accommodated. The cooks looked like they were doing an excellent job but no one was grabbing the in house food off the server station. No one even bothered asking us if we wanted a refill or came over and told us anything about our food. I will never go to an IHOP again. Our last experience here was phenomenal. The manager was having conversations with us and asking us every so often if we needed anything. That was the night service. This review is as astonishing to me as it is to you! I had the Colorado omelet, she had a burger without the bun, and Dad had the app Sampler. Best omelet I've had in years! She's gluten free, and believe it or not, their regular omelets have pancake batter added. They made them gf for me so she could have a bite. Her burger was delicious and cooked properly. Dad really enjoyed the sampler. I'm the first to admit I've had some less than great experiences at IHOP, but not this time! We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. read more

I have read a lot of low reviews for this Ihop and I must say it can be about timing and the server you get. Get there before 10 AM on weekends and ask for Sara or David. We frequently go to this ihop and we understand when there is a wait. The server can be all the difference. Sara is awesome and does her very best to make sure everything is absolutely correct.
